@@ARMTOAST Thanks so much, appreciate that. Too much free time with SABR, The Show, and MVP. What can I say? Video games ultimately got me my job and how to play this game.
Chris Rose plays like how I play it, to go full on sicko. I'm not quite at Jessica Bland level yet, since I have yet to achieve single digit sicko score.
Hard to go single digit on a chart like this with such exclusive achievements. Me, I'm excited if I finish one. I'd print out the chart and get it framed if I got two digits.
I got aa pretty low score today because of Jimmy and Jake doing sporcles with old Yankees pitchers. Got me Lefty Gomez and Jack Chesbro. 4 yesterday using some of my favorite baseball reference pages to look at in Gavvy Cravath, John Sullivan, and Jack Quinn.
Hah, go figure about being shouted out. I had no idea! And yeah, that's me. Two tips for low rarity: Imagine a player's career in reverse, it helps a lot. Also: Remember significant trades and lesser pieces within those trades, for lot of sub-1%. They count all the same as the major guys but you just saved yourself extra thought.
Never enter the first name that pops into your head. Also think of journeyman relievers and bench bats/platoon guys. People usually forget about those guys on the grid. That's how I got 6 on the Sunday 7/23 grid (the one where all 9 boxes were 2 teams) and I immediately screenshot it.
Chris and jeff both have showed what knowledge you keep from covering, watching and reporting the game. Clearly great reporters and supporters of the game and hope to have them on more :)
Was gonna say surprised not one person put Maddux for Cy as the Cubs but lol at Chris Rose saying "Most people gonna go Maddux" when Arrieta was clearly the dominant pick.
I went with these for mine when this was the grid Boston/Cubs - Nomar Garciaparra Cubs/Cleveland - Kerry Wood Cubs/Cy Young winner - Greg Maddux Twins/Boston - Big Sexy Twins/Cleveland - Marty Cordova Twins/Cy Young - Johan Santana 3k k’s/Boston - Curt Schilling 3k k’s/Cleveland - Gaylord Perry 3k k’s/Cy Young - Randy Johnson
Jakes my favorite to watch on all of these. Smart enough to be competitive, not smart enough so that he looks kinda silly sometimes, and always saying the most unexpected weird things that always make me crack up
July 10th grid. I had a below average (for me) 31 rarity score on this day with: Mike Remlinger (0.0004%)-Bob Howry (0.10%)-Rick Sutcliffe Boof Bonser-Joe Smith-Frank Viola Fergie Jenkins-Gaylord Perry-Bob Gibson
i wanted to see jake's eddie rosario percentage but alas the end rarity score blocked it i also wanted someone to do nomar garciaparra for cubs/red sox to see his percentage but no one did
I knew Chris Rose was gonna kill it but sheesh, that was crazy impressive lol
Funny thing is Carlton got traded from Cleveland to Minnesota, who went on to win the World Series later that season.
Tom Brunansky was a killer pull. One of the first baseball cards I had.
@@thoughtfulstargazer All his answers there were Cleveland-Minnesota eligible lol
Final boss matchup- Chris Rose vs Jeff Passan.
@@KR_Diecaststhat would be sick
I swear Chris rose has a baseball history encyclopedia in his brain 😂
As someone who helped develop the rarity score, seeing these reactions live is a true treat. Thanks for the banger video as always!
your answers are always amazing, too, SABR bio savant!

Need more chris rose on these!
I can't believe big papi wasn't immediate in these guys minds for twins and red Sox
I like Nick Punto for that one.
My first thought was my favorite player growing up-Doug mientkiewicz. Obviously a Twins fan though.
How about legend Eduardo Nunez
Vazquez as well
fr i would have put him in
BBD always seems like he has something better to do... and I love that about him. His performance in BIPL 1 was fantastic, with a banner to boot!
Plouffe's Pat Light pull was insane. I remember watching him pitch in Portland & Pawtucket when he was in the Sox system.
I guarantee you the percentage on that pick was as high as 2% because of all of the Section 10/Name Redacted listeners lol
Business Pat baby. Struck out Mike Trout.

knowledge of 70's and 80's baseball cards is what earns me the single digits. super fun to wake up to every morning.

Jake’s one of the funniest people I swear he cracks me the hellup
Chris and jeff both have showed what knowledge you keep from covering, watching and reporting the game. Clearly great reporters and supporters of the game and hope to have them on more :)
I yelled Bartolo Colon so many times before Jolly said “I feel like I’m missing an obvious one here”
Big papi too
Big Sexy! I forgot he pitched for the Twinks
Love this. Maybe next one the best time and the best rarity score could go tic tac toe in a final round?
Doug Mientkiewicz was the only one popping up in my mind for Boston and Minnesota
Edit: and then I thought of another Weird name guy AJ Perzinskie
Kept waiting for Sutcliffe and/or Viola to be named; patience eventually awarded. Viola could also be used for Minn-Bos.
I just love absolutely everything C Rose. The nicest dude in baseball media. Love that man to death.
Watching C Rose do these is incredible. Loving it
Was gonna say surprised not one person put Maddux for Cy as the Cubs but lol at Chris Rose saying "Most people gonna go Maddux" when Arrieta was clearly the dominant pick.
I’d watch these every day! I knew Rose would bring up some obscure picks, but wow!
Love the Chet Steadman reference 🤣
Jolly explaining big poppy was wild 😂 probably only know that bc of the show but damn
Seems we need more Rose vs Passan
crazy that jim thome was only mentioned once and it was probably only because he was plouffes teammate lol
Never realized there was a score for rarity until now, but I do love seeing my 5% and under picks, now I’m gonna be more intentional about that
I was hoping Rose would think of John Smoltz for 3,000 K’s for the Red Sox.
Haha same
I was hoping for a doug mientkiewicz pull for Sox/twins
Tom Seaver is a good one too
@@ryantwitter7549 nasty
More of Chris rose in these please, no offense to old man Dan we love you guy
Being old is such a huge advantage, love you CR
Chris needs to do this more often on here!
I like going for the low sicko scores! Chris Rose did a fantastic job with that grid
It's crazy watching these guys pull the same players for the same slots when there were so many for the bottom right😊
out here yelling Big papi at Jolly
Am I tripping or did Jake have a little Jason Mraz moment???
I went with these for mine when this was the grid
Boston/Cubs - Nomar Garciaparra
Cubs/Cleveland - Kerry Wood
Cubs/Cy Young winner - Greg Maddux
Twins/Boston - Big Sexy
Twins/Cleveland - Marty Cordova
Twins/Cy Young - Johan Santana
3k k’s/Boston - Curt Schilling
3k k’s/Cleveland - Gaylord Perry
3k k’s/Cy Young - Randy Johnson
Need Rosey to record himself doing the grid every day
c rose is goated
Chris said Maddox was the obvious one yet not one person said it, lul
Which Maddox are you referring to? Gary? Greg Maddux is the Cy Young winner.
did Jake really say Ernie Banks for Cubs cy young winner? 😂😂
Jakes my favorite to watch on all of these. Smart enough to be competitive, not smart enough so that he looks kinda silly sometimes, and always saying the most unexpected weird things that always make me crack up
plouffe for twins cy young too. jake was the centerfielder for that teeam
Boston column:
Lester, Ortiz, Clemens
Cleveland column:
Kipnis, Eddie Rosario, CC Sabathia
Cy column: Maddux, Frank Viola, Smoltz
I was surprised Nomar wasn't mentioned for cubs redsox
I went Gary Gaetti, Ron Hassey, Rick Sutcliffe, Bobby Kielty, Luke Sewell, Jim Perry, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Carlton, and John Smoltz. Score 14.715.
and to think I was arguing with some woman on twitter about why Chris Rose hosts 2 shows on jomboy media. The man knows his stuff.
Chris Rose is a national treasure.
This was a fun grid just because the first player for Red Sox Cubs that came into my mind was Matt Dermody, who had a rarity score of 0.02%
July 10th grid. I had a below average (for me) 31 rarity score on this day with:
Mike Remlinger (0.0004%)-Bob Howry (0.10%)-Rick Sutcliffe
Boof Bonser-Joe Smith-Frank Viola
Fergie Jenkins-Gaylord Perry-Bob Gibson
Plouffe and Kipnis being friends would be the least surprising thing in the entire world.
Big Papi played for the Twins and Red Sox as well as Doug Meinkewitch
2:27 am I the only one SCREAMING David Ortiz?
Surprised nobody threw out Eduardo Nunez for twins and Red Sox
Oh yeah, deadline deal. He was the only good twins hitter that year.
11:00 It was was called WWII Dan....
“The War” lol
Rose is a stud!
Hey Jolly DAVID ORTIZ RING A BELL? JESUS DUDE
I remember that Eduardo Nuñez was my pick for MIN-BOS. I'm disappointed in my Yankee fan brethren for not thinking of him.
I recalled he did
Red Sox-Twins I said Caleb Hamilton and it said 0.09%
Gotta love Chris Rose
was screaming Doug Mientkiewicz and Jim Thome, forgot about Brunanski
Dick Mountian for Twins Boston
The people need Passan Vs Rose !!! True baseball SICKOS
Rose masterclass. Goat.
DAWG I WAS SCREAMING CHRISTIAN VAZQUEZ FOR RED SOX TWINS
Surprised no one went with the most hated catcher, AJ Pierzynski, for Boston, Minnesota
I’m surprised nobody went with Bill Buckner for Cubs-Red Sox.
Chet Stedmon joke needs more love
There were 4 squares where he would’ve fit but no mention of Rich Hill 😢
VERY impressive from Rose!
These would make great shorts for the channel just pick one personality have them run through it and then post it as a short
Joe Smith!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta love business pat light
Rose with absolute god round.
eduardo nunez was all i can think of for twins sox and idk why
Chris Rose is my spirit animal
Jolly Olive said Nick Punto for Minnesota and Boston, which is correct but he didn't put it in.
I want to watch C Rose do this everyday
You guys need to do based on rarity score with like a 7 minute time limit
I mean i guess im biased but not getting Christian or Papi for twins sox is wild
I was screaming David Ortiz for twin Red Sox
Child's play for Rose.
More chances for Sweet Music but passed over and over... half-way through though, hope maybe?
Surprised no one picked Smoltz for the Red Sox 3000K, probably the easy low percentage
My low score was 41. Hats off to Rosey.
Did Jake really say Ernie Banks for the Cubs Cy Young? The shortstop/first basemen Ernie Banks?
other Cubs Red Sox anwsers left of on the Board, Nomar, Bill Buckner
Dave Winfield was a Cleveland and twin
Everyone forgets about Boof Bonser!
Try to make Rose a regular, please!
I would have guessed Cle 3000 ks to be Bob feller.. and I would have been wrong because he missed 3 years due to WWII and only got 2581
Who else was screaming David Ortiz at Jolly. lol
i wanted to see jake's eddie rosario percentage but alas the end rarity score blocked it
i also wanted someone to do nomar garciaparra for cubs/red sox to see his percentage but no one did
Big Papiiiiiii! Twin! Red Sock!
Chris was electric
Big papi for twins Red Sox let’s goooo
10 minutes is WILD
Do grids daily !
Big papi for twins Red Sox bro
did jake really quote a fuckin jason mraz song lmao
Sandy Leon common success
Bro said did Ernie Banks win a Cy Young 💀
Kinda disappointed no one said nomar garciaparra!
How was David Ortiz not picked for Boston and Minnesota
Rob Refsnydet for Twins & Sox
Jake sign off! 🤣
BERT BLYLEVIN HAD TO HAVE WON A CY YOUNG
