- It's the season finale of Coneheads, and Mike Chen is going out with a bang. Feeling nostalgic for one of his favorite food destinations on the planet, Mike decides to embark on a little Italian getaway from the comfort of his home. Teaming up with Food Network legend Giada De Laurentiis, Mike gets a once-in-a-lifetime crash course in Italy's most beloved frozen treat- gelato-from an Italian-American icon. But first, Mike must venture out of his kitchen for a socially-distanced ice cream adventure at Snoqualmie Scoop Shop, where he receives an up-close-and-personal look at how one of Washington State's favorite pints is made.

I like Giada.Her first language was Italian so she knows the proper pronunciation.She comes off so snobby at times but also makes jokes about everything. You just gotta git that. It’s just a thing,you learn about.
My second language is Hungarian, which i speak quite fluently, and one thing about most European languages is that you need to 'roll' your R's in order to get the correct pronunciation of certain words and because people who don't speak a second language don't know how to do that, that's why they can't say most things as they should sound. What pisses me off about Giada is that when i speak Hungarian i know i am 'rolling' my R's but it's just subtle and if it's something you can pick up it's like hearing 2 or 3 of them. To me she seems to over emphasize, or exaggerate that and it sounds like 5 or 6, and it's all in an effort to sound cool.
It’s really rude to correct someone like that. Wonder what it would be like if she tried speaking Japanese.

She is wrong about the meaning of "stracciatella": it's not because the icecream is "dirty", the name comes from the fact that the chocolate is "torn apart", or "stracciato", when mixed with the icecream.

I had Gelatto once and it was Apple pie flavored. Needless to say it was one of best desserts I ever had in my life, and I hate that I haven’t been able to find that particular flavor in a while.

He's living in Redmond, he mentioned he was at "home" in the vid and the high temp (the 94 in July or the 97 a couple weeks ago?). Has a place still in New York. Makes sense since he spends most of his time in Asia and New York so a nice in between spot to keep the air travel manageable. Yeah I googled it because I had no idea.

It might sound weird but I hardly eat galato or ice cream in the summer. Mostly when it's cooler, cuddled up in a blanket. Plus lactose intolerant when I comes to a lot of dairy.
