Hats off for this video (and others too). You are literally the only reviewer of this gear that makes me feel your system and your ears really hear the difference and that you give it to us the way it is instead of what people want to hear. Respect.
Nice review as always. But what about the Master Edition of the streamer ? The output stage is improved. Can we expect a review ? I think we are all looking forward to 🙏
How does analog section of Eversolo DMP-A6 compare to DENAFRIPS Ares II R2R DAC. You did a great review on DENAFRIPS Ares II What are your thoughts on this comparison?
Srba, it would be interesting to compare the Node with a third party linear power supply to the Eversolo? There are two companies selling power supply upgrades for the Node - PD Creative and BeaTechnik LHY. The Node has one thing that I really am dependent on, and that is a native Radio Paradise app. I can sign into my RP account, and play a stream of my favorites of their vast and very well curated library.
I am also interested in the best value "stand alone" *streamer*. I want to use my DAC that I have already, and almost cedrtainly would never use the internal DAC in this unit. The op-amps are OPA1642 (I think?) and these are not as good as even the OPA1612, that I know is *nowhere* near as good as the Sparkos I have in my Geshelli DAC.
Super interesting video; thank you. It would have been interesting to see you comparing it also to the Wiim Pro with the Topping E70 for instance. That might be the only type of combo that could compete price wise currently.
Good morning from Toronto thank you for the great review. I was very interested in hearing about this product. Now, as for my situation, I went with Wiim Pro feeding via optical to a Topping E50 ( yes with an IFI power supply) …and it’s damn nice ! Especially, since I run Amazon Music HD. Once again thank you ☕️👍🍕
I am entering the audiophile arena. I really like this streamer with the included internal DAC. My question to you is what would be a very good complimentary integrated amplifier to pair it with?
Great review as always. I need to update my speakers and amp before considering something like this. Currently using a Wiim Mini into an SMSL SU-1 into my old Audiolab 8000a with PSB Alpha P5 in my office.
How does the Tunein Radio App sound on the Eversolo DMP-A6? Does it sound better than the Tunein radio on the Bluesound Node with an external DAC? Another excellent review, keep them coming.
@@sonicplayroompiano4302ll…it’s controversial (Amir at Audio Science Review dismisses it…others tout it) and I²S has a lot of variables. Basically, you have more wires….3 I believe is what is used. Therefore you can keep the clock data separate on it own line, the music data on its own line and same for the instruction data. HDMI cables have more wires then 3…so they are not fully utilized. The Same thing is done, to a much lesser degree using Ethernet cable on some sources as it has multiple wires. Other connections like SPIDF, etc have to mix the data together and it has to be separated by the DAC. In theory keeping the data separate is obviously better…but apparently it’s not always audible. The HDMI cables HAVE to be short too…or the signal decays. I spent $100 on an 18" HDMI cable from Italy, so that is why I want all units to have the connection available! 😅
Your reviews are great! Keep pushing them out. I’d like to know if it makes more sense to get the Eversolo DMP A6 with its DAC (es9038), or a really good standalone DAC like the Demafrip ares ii paired with WiiM pro plus streamer?
Also which one you prefer should take in consideration of your speakers. Light with dark and dark with light. For instance Focals may need a darker richer dac, and Harbeth may need lighter leaner. Matching stuff and being good at it just take experience and time. Or a bunch of money to brute force your experience.
Thank you for addressing many of the questions that I have had concerning sound quality. Unfortunately, it makes it even harder for me to wait until mine finally arrives. Truly the streamer solution I’ve been waiting for.
I just ordered mine yesterday. I have to wait 3 to 4 weeks. I hope my patience will be rewarded. Can't wait. Great review. I bought the N130 and thought it was meh. The reviews were so positive so I'm a little leary. I want an all in one solution for now due to space as my room is only 12 x 12 x 8.
Great review with lots of useful information. Found it a bit strange that you detected a difference in sound quality between streaming apps... Wish you would have been able to test it with Roon, since that's what I and many other serious audiophiles utilize. Seriously considering upgrading my ZenStream with linear power supply to the Eversolo, but it would be nice to know if the sound quality you noted would be as good when using Roon rather than the included Eversolo app. Regardless, I appreciate your review.
Zen Streamer! So glitchy! Bought it last week and 😢. Should have bought Eversolo DAP6. Only plus thing about Zen Streamer is that you can connect to a DDC and I did. Sound quality is good. You're probably reading a lot from somewhere that investing in an LPS is going to improve your Zen Streamer sq. I suggest that if possible ask the shop to let you have it for home test. Am sure they have a display or demo LPS. Ask yourself what percentage of improvements you would expect with LPS and you're satisfied? 10%?
@@strongchallenger2269 I've had the Zen stream for a while, well before the Eversolo was available. LHY Audio LPS does make a 5 to 10% difference in performance. I'm using it with a Denafrips Hermes DDC and Pontus 2 DAC. Overall sound quality is fantastic. I use Roon and have no problem with glitchiness with the Zen stream... But it's not something I would recommend to people unless with Roon. I've been looking for a more upscale streamer but don't want to spend $2,500 on one. So it's probably going to be the Eversolo, probably the master edition once it's easily available. Thanks for your reply and happy listening!
@@toddt5562FYI the master edition improves the DAC, not the Streamer. I’m very interested to hear if the Eversolo provides meaningful sound improvement over your Zen Stream!
Great review I really enjoyed it. Been keeping an eye on the Eversolo DMP-A6 to replace my Zen Stream for the last month waiting for Amazon to have them restock again they sold out quick the last time and finally amazon had more of them today was able to grab one less than a hour later they sold out again I think this will become the go to streamer for alot of people in this price range
@mrjerrypotter71 in VERY curious if the Eversolo outperformed your Zen Stream in terms of sound quality. I’d be using the Eversolo plugged into an external DAC.
Love all your reviews. When you were using the DMP-A6, did you find a way to add tracks from multiple sources (NAS, Tidal, Qobuz etc) into a single currently-playing queue, like you can on a BlueSound NODE? After reading all the great reviews I purchased an A6 and thought this feature would be a fundamental function of any streamer (having owned a NODE for years). Maybe I’m just missing something but it looks to me like you can only play track from each individual source at any one time. Thanks for all your hard work putting these great reviews together.
No I didn't find a way to do it. That lack of managing a playlist is the biggest peeve I have with the device. I mentioned things like no way to add a single track into the current playlist even from the same source (let's say Qobuz for example but a song is from a different playlist). So far, they updated the list to allow us to rearrange the order of the tracks which was also not possible at the time of this review (and I believe I complained about it in the software section). So I truly hope they'll keep adding more options with future updates.
Thank-you so much for your prompt reply. This has confirmed my suspicions. No-one else but you have mentioned this. Keep up the best reviews on the Internet. Thanks.
I guess this was the standard edition and not the more expensive Master Edition ! If you could have that Master edition, it would be great ! So the DAC isn't on par with the latest Gustards 26, how would you compare it with the RME then ? That being asked, excellent review as usual, thanks.
That was a really thorough review. Thanks for your detailed insights. I’m curious if it can support Amazon HD because that’s the streaming service I use.
I am currently running the Mercury V2 streamer using RoPieeeXL and it is pretty darn good. I bought on Srboljub's previous review. So, he has yet to steer me wrong yet, so I ordered the EverSolo... Told 3 to 4 weeks, seems they are sold out everywhere.
Really nice review! What level is the built-in dac of a6? Is it around $500 of chifi dac? Can you recommend a best budget external dac that is better than the built-in dac of a6?
So we're saying that in the comparison of ifi zen or mercury that the software used changes the sq? I believe this is the first time I heard this claim. Also, did you try the ifi or the mercury with a lps?
Good review mate. I think one of the antennas is Bluetooth. I am very curious to know why/how the native tidal app would sound better than tidal connect? Also if whether or not as a standalone streamer this would still beat a Pd creative modded node 2i? When I upgraded my node 2i with pd creative and linear psu there was at least a %15 improvement in soundstage, resolution and tighter bass. It was one of those wow moments where it was worth every penny. Were you using your Schumann Dac for this review by the way?
That puzzles me too but I demonstrated the difference to a friend and he noticed it immediately. Something is obviously done differently depending on the protocol used. I can't compare it to the modded Node because it's a loaner that will have to go back soon. As for the DAC, I used Gustard R26 and my own DIY tube DAC that's actually my daily driver for the last six months or so.
@@iiWiReviewsyeah quite odd... oooh diy tube amp sounds sick! I think the gabster channel guy does diy Dacs not sure if tube or not. I'm not sure if you've heard of him. Highly recommend. Like you, great channel and seemingly very honest comments on gear. Do you prefer R26 over Ladder Schumann?
Really nice review with good comparisons for us...the consumer. I don't know if you mentioned if it has headphone jack or amp so can I hook up my headphone amp to it.
Hi Srbo. I consider your reviews to be the most useful as you cover majority of my questions in advance. Having your comments about Tidal/Qobuz streaming, I would be curious to know if you ever encountered any device which can stream from these services matching quality when playing from local drive and without those rounded edges and fussiness between notes. I haven’t found despite looking for such in last 5 years…
I haven't heard anything being able to do that so far. Streaming always sounds a bit softer on any device I ever had a chance to hear in my or someone else's system.
Thank you for a great review! Did you compare the sound of Eversolo with ifi Zen Stream using ifi stock power supply? I am asking because I went from the stock power supply to ifi iPowerX, then ifi iPower Elite and now to MuzgAudio 12V linear power supply and each time the improvement in sound quality was huge. The unit scales really well. If the comparison was done using stock power supply then I guess there is a chance that ifi with linear power supply will perform on the same level and there is no need to think about upgrading. Thank you very much!
@@Temmple I don't think the upgrade is worth it. Ifi zen stream with good linear power supply will probably smoke the eversolo. Please note that they had to cut the corners somewhere in Eversolo to keep the cost down. The unit looks very well build so probably they saved a little on the power supply.
@@Temmple What you can buy is Muzgaudio 12v linear power supply from Poland for 300$. It smokes ifi ipower Elite and other power supplies in its price category. I still have ifi ipower Elite but use it on a switch. It made a very positive difference
Compared with iFi Zen Stream with LPS, the Eversolo is still better. Fuller sound from mid bass down, better separation and cleaner sounding overall. I was quite surprised.
I would like to hear this too. I was thinking of going with the neo until i saw this one. I'd be using the native dac in either one. Morenaffordable than the neo...
@@elliottrosewater Same considerations, same doubts. But in my case I would've used them as streaming dac at first, and maybe later would 've bought a separate dac...
Hello Srboljub, excellent review, many thanks for sharing it. Following one of your previous review I took my first step in the dedicated DAC world with the SMSL DO100, which demonstrated to be an excellent sounding device for the money. This Eversolo device seems to be a killer deal and definitely the next step in my upgrade path, and if I'm not wrong shares the same DAC configuration of the DO100. How would you compare these two devices sound wise? Thanks!
I can't tell you how they compare in great detail because I don't have DO100 with me anymore. But going by the memory, this one is an upgrade since it's neck to neck with SU9 pro which I know is the best SMSL DAC I've tried up to $500. That means greater transparency in general.
I purchased the DMP-A6 about 2 weeks ago replacing my Bluesound node 2i. Output via spdif to my Mytek Liberty Dac. 2. Sounds great. I replaced the spdif cable with a new bnc to rca 75 ohm cable feeding a Neutrik aes ebu adapter that goes to the aes ebu input of the dac. Even better low noise floor sound!
@@piotrbiedowicz1602 I have replaced the Mytek with a Denafrips Ares 12-1 DAC using the USB input. Also replaced the power supply with a LPS-A6 linear unit. With this configuration the sound is more relaxed, natural and smooth though the bass is slightly reduced. I prefer this now.
After watching reviews of A8 and finding out that it has band equalizers, I went to settings in my A6 and for short period of time it also had band equalizers😊 . Couple days later it disappeared. I reached out to eversolo and they denied that band eq was never available on A6 and to show them pictures or video of that. Unfortunately I do not have any evidence of that but I was happy for that couple of days tinkering with eq. Unfortunately it was removed, I assume with an update. I wish they kept it and had it available on A6. Did any of you guys also experienced band eq on eversolo dmp-A6 for short period of time?
I have node n130 with PDcreative top end power supply and the A6 master edition. I'm still getting used to the A6. So far I've got more fatigue listening to the A6 than the N130. Yes, the A6 definitely has more detail and it presents its information very differently. However, the bottom end on the N130 is much deeper and there is a feeling of a bigger presentation over all. The A6 definitely is more detailed but it's certainly not as warm and easy on the ears as the N130. I've only had the A6 4 days and it's been on non stop . I've also found that going into my Bryston BDA 1 Dac is a bigger presentation than the onboard ESS dac, plus there's more bottom end. I suppose I'll have to do a power supply upgrade for the A6, but which one? On the Node, I tried an Sbooster and it was NOT good and went back to the PDCreative which is much larger in scale and warmer and deeper in the bottom end. oh boy! Last night I heard of the Eversolo A8 with the AKM chipset.. BUGGER!!! silky smooth sound apparently.. is probably what I would have liked. I've tried ESS Docs in the past and didn't like them, but I'm still holding out hopes for the A6 master.
Great review as always. Appreciate it as I think I have made up my mind to upgrade from the Node N130 which I haven't been that happy with. It's been ok but the buggy app annoys me still.
It’s the app that’s driving me away as well. Doesn’t always play well with Qobuz and I look forward to having Apple Music play lossless through the Eversolo.
Great review! Can you draw comparisons between the DMP-A6 and the Gustard A26 you recently reviewed? I am torn between the two as they both have streamer and DAC capabilities.
Gustard A26 sounds better with more fine deteils and bigger soundstage. But technically it possesses only audio renderer...meaning that you have to rely on a 3rd party app like Bubble UPnP or Roon to connect to it. DMP-A6 is not as good of a DAC when it comes to sound but it is a fully loaded audio streamer that can use SSD and many streaming services natively.
@@ekjellgren just wanted to make sure. I like the looks of the Eversolo better, but the A26 is the superior product if one uses Roon (also around twice the price).
Wifi sounds really good. If I use just my regular Internet router, I maybe even slightly prefer WiFi that sounds cleaner. But if I use the LHY SW-8 switch then it sounds slightly better than WiFi.
Thank you for the review. Did you get a chance to see how it sounded while using Roon? If so, how did it sound compared to the native app or Tidal connect. Thank you.
Hi there! Great review. I’ve seen you raving about the D90SE. How does the internal DAC in the DMP-A6 compare to the Topping? Your input is key to help me decide in which direction I move
Solid review! Really like the comparisons between using it as a digital transport vs. analog out. This will be on my list! Sounds like the zen stream maybe comparable as a digital transport alone to this.
None of the links in the video description to buy the product show stock. Whoever is running Eversolo has done a masterful job of marketing this product because they have convinced people to buy every one they have, or maybe they are having inventory and production problems. Are they low on capital that they can't get these made to meet demand?
They were very transparent in their last press release about a shortage of chips causing an indefinite delay in manufacturing. Production has resumed and a shipment was sent early July and sold through in record time. Quality product with high performance and high demand. Certainly not indicative of cash flow being an issue.
@@iiWiReviews looking to possible upgrade my Node2i with this. I have started using Qobuz as Tidal annoys me. And I can’t wait for a high res streamer to use Apple Music. Yes I know this does. But not natively. And I’d like a native clean screen, not a pseudo browser view. Thanks for the cool reviews.
@@iiWiReviews also compared to BluOs how’s the app. I know you can’t rearrange the songs which would also drive me crazy. But hoping that’s a quick update for them at some point soon.
Other than that irritation that I hope they fix, I find the app to be really smooth and nice looking. If BluOS has some distinct advantages, I haven't used it long enough to notice them.
Ive been using a Wiim Mini with my system which sounds quite good. I bought it as a streamer before i even knew what a DAC was to integrate with my Vintage Yamaha (CR840) Receiver and Mission 780SE Speakers. I am now thinking of upgrading to the DMP-A6. Do you think it is worth the extra cost and will there be a noticable sound quality difference?
Would be interesting to compare to the Gustard R26 since they both function as streamer/DACs. The R26 is double the price, but it may be the logical upgrade from the A6 especially for anyone who doesn't want a separate streamer/more wires, etc.
@@iiWiReviews I have a Gustard X26 Pro so thinking of adding the A6 to add the streaming. Better yet I can also use the HDMI out to send my DSD and I believe it will even output 5.1 DSD64 over it's HDMI. I have a Anthem AVM90. Was thinking of their Neo Alpha as well, but not sure I need that one since I have my X26 Pro.

Super interesting video; thank you. It would have been interesting to see you comparing it also to the Wiim Pro with the Topping E70 for instance. That might be the only type of combo that could compete price wise currently.
That actually a lot of people recommended this combo. WiiM Pro + Topping E70 Velvet, way cheaper but sounds better.
Fantastic review❤
Hadouk trio! Good taste in music man. Thanks for rewiev, I hope to get one soon.
Great review, thank you.
Once again thank you ☕️👍🍕
Try coaxial cable instead, generally they sound better than optical cable.
I am entering the audiophile arena. I really like this streamer with the included internal DAC. My question to you is what would be a very good complimentary integrated amplifier to pair it with?
Awesome review! Thank you!
Fantastic review very informative
Great review as always.
I need to update my speakers and amp before considering something like this.
Currently using a Wiim Mini into an SMSL SU-1 into my old Audiolab 8000a with PSB Alpha P5 in my office.
Excellent review, clear and profuse... I've
How does the Tunein Radio App sound on the Eversolo DMP-A6? Does it sound better than the Tunein radio on the Bluesound Node with an external DAC? Another excellent review, keep them coming.
It would be nice to have the streamer part only in the same form for $600. I'm sure it would be even more popular.
I agree. DAC-Z8 with this screen and I'd put my order in today.
I agree…I would even pay $700-$800 for a solo streamer in this exact format and same screen size WITH an I²S connection!
Why is is2 connection so revered?
Thank you so much! My question: you love the Aune with discrete op-amp. I bought it thanks to your advice. How does that compare??
I hoped to hear a comparison with the Cambridge CXN streamer..
I was hoping you would review this one, thanks!
I’m curious about how the DPM-A6 sound versus the much more expensive Hi-Fi Rose RS 250B?
Great honest review
Very useful review, thank you. Would to get your take on the Weiss DAC 204 if the opportunity presents itself.
I'm waiting to see a comparison between the new EverSolo Master Edition and the new Holo Audio Red Streamer.
Still pleased with Zen Stream through old ladder dac by Aragon.
@@davidzwicker9988 Yeah I tested the Eversolo vs. my iFi Zen Stream (connecting both to my DAC via USB). I returned the Eversolo.
Thanks.
Would be a great if you can compare dmp a6 to volumio rivo
I guess this was the standard edition and not the more expensive Master Edition ! If you could have that Master edition, it would be great !
So the DAC isn't on par with the latest Gustards 26, how would you compare it with the RME then ? That being asked, excellent review as usual, thanks.
No way would the DAC compare to RME..
Very nice review! Thks! How much is the difference with Wiim mini Pro as transport? Ciao!
I'm hesitating between Cambridge CXN v2 and Everesolo DMP A6. Thanks for this Nice overview.
Me also but maybe as I have bright speakers I am here more for cxn v2 more finally !!!
I do prefer R26 slightly for its greater soundstage but wouldn't mind living with Schumann at all. They're in the same tier in my opinion.
@iiWiReviews Thanks a lot. That matches my experience. The closest viable option so far was Qobuz through Roon but not exactly even in this case
I have the same setup and have been thinking about upgrading to the A6 but concerned that it might not be that much better.
@@marcinkantoch7176 I am using the LHY power supply with mine. Seems to be pretty much what you have.
Compared with iFi Zen Stream with LPS, the Eversolo is still better. Fuller sound from mid bass down, better separation and cleaner sounding overall. I was quite surprised.
Thanks a lot for the review. It looks like a great streaming dac. I'm curious, how does it compare to Ifi Neo Stream?
@@iiWiReviews Thank you so much for your reply! 🙏
Did you try output via usb?
@@piotrbiedowicz1602 I have replaced the Mytek with a Denafrips Ares 12-1 DAC using the USB input. Also replaced the power supply with a LPS-A6 linear unit. With this configuration the sound is more relaxed, natural and smooth though the bass is slightly reduced. I prefer this now.
Great review. Thank you.
Very good review
What is your current reference Dac in your system? How does dmp-a6 Dac compare?
🙋♂️GREETINGS SRBOLJUB, I HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL 🤗 AND HAVE A GREAT DAY 👍💚💚💚
Great review!
I do have a lifetime Roon subscription. Based on that, if I am looking for a one unit solution would the A26 be superior?
@@RobertSegal-g9p yes, didn't he just say that? (I'm looking for the same as you)
@@ekjellgren just wanted to make sure. I like the looks of the Eversolo better, but the A26 is the superior product if one uses Roon (also around twice the price).
I wonder what is the different between this unit and the Master Edition model.
The master edition has gold plated accents instead of silver. Also has lower noise and jitter along with higher quality op amps.
500 USD more for logo in gold, 3 USD more for better OP amp if you use the DAC and better Clock. That is all.
Good review.
Great review! Did you (or anyone else) test sound quality over WiFi vs. sound quality over Ethernet?
Wifi sounds really good. If I use just my regular Internet router, I maybe even slightly prefer WiFi that sounds cleaner. But if I use the LHY SW-8 switch then it sounds slightly better than WiFi.
Thank you for the review. Did you get a chance to see how it sounded while using Roon? If so, how did it sound compared to the native app or Tidal connect. Thank you.
Hi there! Great review. I’ve seen you raving about the D90SE. How does the internal DAC in the DMP-A6 compare to the Topping? Your input is key to help me decide in which direction I move
Hi! I would love to hear your thoughts on this question. I'm seeing mixed reviews online. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Maybe a review of the Master Edition would be nice.
This one has different chips, that would improve the sound.
Hi. Nice review. As a DAC, how does it compare to the Z8? Thanks
They have very similar sound, choose according to features.
How does it sound with Gustard a26 or r26?
vs CXN (V2)?
Hey, your reviews rock.
Can you make a video about your settings and how you use the BlubbleUPnP?
Thanks, great content always.
Thanks. I'll think about that when there's time (not as much devices for a review as I have at the moment).
Confirming you used Gustard DAC when talking about using it with your DAC right? Thanks.
Gustard R26 too but mainly my DIY tube DAC.
@@iiWiReviewsso would you recommend the topping e70 velvet as being equal to your DIY tube or Gustard ?
Ive been using a Wiim Mini with my system which sounds quite good. I bought it as a streamer before i even knew what a DAC was to integrate with my Vintage Yamaha (CR840) Receiver and Mission 780SE Speakers. I am now thinking of upgrading to the DMP-A6. Do you think it is worth the extra cost and will there be a noticable sound quality difference?
Thanks for a great review! Just wondering, did you use it with an integrated amp or power amp? I'm curious whether it functions well as a preamp.
I used it connected to my preamp and power amp combo. It works OK as a preamp too, in line with most other DACs of this price.
the comment about the soundstage decreasing when utilizing upnp has me very curious as to where the problem resides.
I do have several dacs but Schiit Modi (older chip) amused me … with little price amazing quality.
Would be interesting to compare to the Gustard R26 since they both function as streamer/DACs. The R26 is double the price, but it may be the logical upgrade from the A6 especially for anyone who doesn't want a separate streamer/more wires, etc.
R26 is better. Richer tone timbre, better detail retrieval, and bigger soundstage.
