There is something magical about the strings+drive+chorus sound that sounds so full and rich and yet so simple which makes this one of my favorite synths tones of all time.
Interesting how the main chord sequence features so persistently throughout the song - you don't get such a feel of that from the track itself, with everything else going on. What a great chord sequence, though.

@@radiooasisgabhead No, it’s not! I’ve got an M1 and the combination orchestra is not even similar. Nor there is any program called orchestra. I have not yet figured out exactly what they did, but it seems it is a modified preset based on preset 07 symphony. But when you play a chord progression with symphony there is a point where the tone color changes significantly due to multisample zones, while you can’t hear that phenomenon in the original recording. I suppose it’s a layered sound and equalized quite immersive to avoid that effect. Be that as it may, the M1 was definitely involved , but you can’t play the riff sounding exactly right with any of the presets only.
2:48 I can never get over how AMAZING that bridge section is holy shit

Is it Mercury on the keys or May?
Probably May

How can I get the tone for this on the korg m1
Kourosh Esfandiari Try the orchestra1 preset, it’s not perfect but it’s close

I think that DynaString is much closer than Orchestra1, try it
