I actually love Monaca because of how motivated, clever, and often successful she is. Made her a fantastic villain for me. If DR3 wasn't a thing I have no doubt she would've accomplished her goal of surpassing Junko.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. She is my favorite villain in the Danganronpa series for sure.

I can understand why people hate Monaca, but personally, I like her. The way they wrote her to be a truly despicable villain, it's really great. I think another thing that made me like her is that unlike Junko, who's only motive for doing everything she did was just "Despair good, hope bad" while also having no reason for ending up like this, Monaca had an actual motive, for a successor to Junko Enoshima, the only person who, even if for a little while, Monaca felt loved her. And the reason she ended up the way she did, was well, the abuse she had in her childhood, which brought her to a point of no return. And the way she ended it all in DR3, personally, it made me like her more because of how hilarious it was.

Monaka is one of my favorite characters of anything ever! She’s such a well-written character and honestly so interesting! This is a really good analysis!
Yeah, she is such a good character! I just wish we got to see more of her. The again, the ending of UDG ended her arc pretty well.
Monaca’s pitiful and childish act perfectly covered her plan for successor until the end with the perfect face expression! She’s my most favorite character and my idol! She perfectly explained why pitiful child are the most powerful, and perfectly represented the word mastermind! With out the big bang Monokuma at the end she would totally succeed!
To be honest, monaca is one of the best villains ever made. I really enjoy how she handled things, I felt really happy at the fact that monaca is an example of a child who can be evil out of pure malice despite being manipulated and abused. I haven't watched the anime for danganronpa so I'm not sure why people talk about how her character development was squashed during that.
She was smart to use kids who was also abused, they'd be much more easier to manipulate than kids who are in a loving household.
I feel bad for the woh, just imagine how useful monaca would be if she was in the future foundation.
Monaca is one of my favourite characters if you can't tell by my profile. I don't support her actions but she was abused and basically tricked by junko. I think monaca could of been a good character if she hadn't nearly made the woh commit s*icide and met junko

She is a horrible person and I do not support her actions one bit but she is a great character and so well written
I think the worst part of this is that Cristina Vee actually voices her, but I have the utmost respect for actors who always do their best even for roles they hate.
I believe she acts like this because of abuse and Junko manipulating her.
She almost made other warriors of hope kill themselves BEFORE Junko found them
@@шаурмазеленый to be fair it's not entirely clear if Monaca is telling the truth about it all being for a joke, while she certainly tries to pass them off as jokes she does write a fair bit about suicidal thoughts in her diary. even if she didn't intend to die she was holding the hands of two other members of the Warriors of Hope so if they had jumped off the roof she would likely have been dragged off with them.

You know, I've always liked Monaca a lot more than any other DR villain (not that that's hard to accomplish, this franchise isn't the best when it comes to villains) but I've never understood why, I couldn't pinpoint what makes her so different from the rest, but I think I've finally come up with an answer
It's her use of screentime
Monaca's biggest difference when compared to the rest of this franchise's villains is that she is no twist villain. You know from the very prologue that she's the mastermind behind it all, manipulating all the other Warriors of Hope pretty blatantly. Because of this, Monaca has an entire game explaining why is she the way she is, showing her horrible actions and building her up as a being you hate with all your passion. She is a well written character that has plenty of screentime to expand on what is going on with her. Her pacing is well balanced and spread throughout the game
Compare that with Junko, Tsumugi and the absolute joke that is Tengan, all of which have minimal screentime as villains due to being revealed as such in the final stretch of their respective stories and have to spend a great portion of said screentime giving exposition dumps and desperately trying to be quirky and remarkable to catch the player's attention with such little time on screen
That's not the only thing that makes Monaca a far greater villain than the other 3 imo, but it's definitely the most important factor as to what makes her character so great
I kinda see why though Monaca did EVERYTHING. She grew up not knowing how to get love, after her " injury " she noticed they paid the slightest attention to her. She wanted to feel loved and attention. She then went to the extreme.
I don't agree with anything that she does, but I do like her as a character. She does bring good plot to the story.
Edit: Okay, so like before any arguments start, I know her actions are TERRIBLE and are not able to be blown off. I'm only saying I know why in her head she would think that why ( in my opinion).
I loved how she was in DR3, it made me like her as a character more. The scene with the van is still one of my favorites

Can I add onto this? Kodaka (the creator of danganronpa) didn't give Junko a back story and says she's just born evil. Monaca however, has a backstory and has reasons to why she is the way she is.

For the most part, I barely care about the morality of characters. I think Monaca is a great character and villain, sure, she's a horrible person, but I don't hate her as a character. I only really dislike characters if they're personally a yikes for me (like Haiji), even then if you told me Haiji was your favorite character I wouldn't care. No matter which character you like or dislike, it's your opinion, I don't get to change that. And it doesn't harm anyone to have an opinion like having a favorite or least favorite character, just so long as you aren't a toxic fan, it's all cool.

I dislike Monaca as a character, but as a Villain, I’m impressed. She did what she was made to do, almost perfectly. I hate Monaca because she always seemed fake.
