Excellent comprehensive demo. Really liked how you show how to remove and re-attach the visor too. Much simpler than trying to follow the printed instructions that come with the insert!
Just installed the pinlock on my Shoei GT-Air II following the video, yeah! enormously helpful one, thank you very much. Also learned to take off / put back the visor, kind of tricky.
Thanks so much. I was so worried I’d get fingerprints between the visor and pin lock shield. It worked out but they should mark which was is up and which way faces in on the sticker itself. Your instructions were great!
Our pleasure! Usually on Pinlock inserts the foil faces the inside (so that you can remove it once you've installed it) and you need to make sure the shape of the lens matches up with the visor. But it can still be a challenge. How have you found the Neotec 2 so far?
Great video! I was struggling until I noticed a small plastic piece which looks like it is used to hold the visor in its different open positions. Once I made sure that was pushed into position it was all working.
Excellent video. The fact that you do this and it was still a slight issue was helpful. That little bit of force to reattach the visor was really helpful. The connection, visually just looked wrong. But a little bit of force and it popped right in. I stared at this thing for half an hour... thinking, now what am I gonna do? I wonder if I can take it back and say it's broken? Saved me from looking like an idiot or getting desperate and actually breaking it.
There is a wee clear clip to front of swivel at side of visor clip it has to go in first ignore top clip it falls into place last but move your hand please aaargh ..front clip bottom clip then push in l
That is correct, once the bottom clip is lined up and inserted, the rest of them should also line up and snapping them into place will be easier. The Neotec 2 can be somewhat of a challenging visor, so practice can also help. Thanks for the comment! What are your thoughts on the Shoei helmet?
Bought 2 helmets from you guys, Shoei Neotec II and a Schuberth C4 Pro Carbon, like both helmets though Shoei's visor attach system is a pita. Compared to the Schuberth!
Great to hear you're enjoying your helmets! Though both have tried to simplify the visor removal process, we've found Schuberth's is much quicker on the go since the Neotec 2 can get finicky. How did you find the ventilation on the two helmets?
@@Championhelmets ventilation is good on both, thought the Shoei is less quiet. Bought the Shoei Splicer TC5 (black/silver) great looking helmet and not sold in the US!
I've just bought a shoei Neotec 2, and I'd like to install the pinlock, but the user manual clearly says: " Daytime use only. Never use PINLOCK EVO lens at night. If the PINLOCK EVO lens is used with a clear shield/visor, its light transmission ratio will beapproximately 80%. This value does not meet the light transmission standards in the U.S. (VESC-8, 85%), or Europe (ECE R22, 80%), so this accessory is for “daytime use only” in these jurisdictions" This is a big problem because visor fogging occours mainly in winter, when day light time is very short.
When I bought my neotec 2, the salesman told me that to install the pinlock you neet to turn the pins so the arrow points outwards, and after you install the pinlock, you need to turn the pins again so that the arrow is inwards, did you forget this step Chris? or was this not required on the first generation of the Neotech 2 helmets? Thanks!
Awesome video thank you so much! I have been fighting with this shield. Do they make a mirror shield for this helmet like the gt air has? Thanks again.
Hi Shannon, no problem! We're glad the video was helpful. Yes, the Neotec 2 can fit a silver / mirrored shield as well. How have you found your Neotec 2 so far?
Thanks, your video helped a lot...although I found it harder to get the visor off than put it back on again. Although, I did have a friend hold the helmet and pull the lever while I clipped on the visor. Perhaps it's a 2 man job? Lol. However, now, the visor doesn't close as nicely as it did, it needs a bit of a slam! It won't close just by pulling it down by the tab, as it did without the pinlock. Is this normal? It is a brand new helmet, it might be a bit stiff? Shoei GT Air 2
Our pleasure! That is a little strange, since the mechanism should work just as before even with the Pinlock. One possible solution may be to see if you can take off and remount the visor once more. It may be that you can still operate the visor, but the tracks are not quite lined up. Thanks for the question! Besides the visor, how have you found the helmet out on the road?
@@Championhelmets Thanks for the advice, I'll try that later. It's not a big problem though anyway. Regarding the helmet generally...well, it's absolutely incredible; the first thing is the perfect fit. It is so comfortable and absolutely no free head movement inside the helmet; it feels incredibly secure. However, the biggest difference is the sound reduction. Wow, it's so quiet inside that helmet. I absolutely love it!! Everything about it, it's just so good and looks amazing!
@@vgh50 No problem, and great to hear you're enjoying your GT Air 2! We were also impressed with how quiet the helmet was, when we took it out on our road test, we found it showed 97dB on our decibel meter, which makes it one of the quietest helmets we have tested to date. While Shoei have made it easy to remove the visor, the visor seal spring mechanism certainly does make remounting the visor a bit of a hassle. Thanks for the comment! Besides the visor, how have you found the Neotec 2?
You skipped over a critical step. The two pins are eccentric and their rotation position affects how tightly the pinlock insert sits against the inside of the visor.
Your shield install instructions did not help me. Once I realized I needed to get the shield pinlock pin lip UNDER the helmet pivot assembly flange, it just fell in.
Got pin lock and visor back on easy, 1 week later been trying after cleaning to replace visor and can’t see cos your hand is in way aaaaaarghh should have bought cheap shitty helmet please come and fit visor before I kick f....no helmet across room

Agreed. Love my Shoei but their visor lock system is garbage. They need to take a chapter from their cheap rival HJC’s book, which is easy as can be.
