That short video of not waiting for the fan to shut off post powering down was priceless.... Thank you for the image you painted via a mishap.
@@aaronfox5808 We can laugh about it now. It did cost me a new pair of underwear though, Lol. Thanks for watching!
Hey, I’m impressed you honestly explained your experience when you blew up the machine. That’s a sign of integrity that is second to none. My hats off to you for your work and ethics.

I subscribed after watching your video for a few minutes. You seem to be down to earth and a true fabricator. Great video and Arccaptian is a great machine for newbies, hobbyists and even retired fabricators who want more space back in the garage. I bought the Cut 50 plasma first and after a few weeks of trials I bought the Mig 205 MP ( prior to that unit ) and again very happy with it even at full pop on price.
@@aaronfox5808 Thanks for subscribing. Arccaptain has been good for me to be able to test and review. I’ve been surprised with their performance for the $. Thanks for watching!

There is undoubtedly a lot of extra work behind the scenes. I love all your videos; I appreciate you! Great review on this machine; it looks like a great option.
@@Scott_69HemiDart I appreciate that you recognize the work that goes into it. I do enjoy it, but it is a lot of work. I thank you for watching!
You remind me of my old boss, but about 25-30 years younger. He hired me when I was green. He was tough to work for at times, but he taught me a lot and made me a true pipeliner.
@@BMGProjects I think those that end up learning how to work hard, usually have someone that they worked for at some point that were hard to work for, but learned a lot from them. I know I had mine. It has its moments, but when those times are behind you and you look back on it, you realize how those times in your life helped shape you into the person you are today. I am grateful that I’ve had the experiences and relationships that I have. Thanks for the reminder to have gratitude for life experiences, and thanks for watching!
Maybe a tip from an interested viewer. As long as you do not have access to a fixture welding table, you can still drill a number of (e.g. 5) holes in the center of your current welding table with a diameter that is suitable for the standard welding table clamps. This way you can easily secure the various workpieces.
Greetings from the Netherlands, please continue making these videos.
@@ferrywobma1836 That is a great idea. I will have to look into getting some of those clamps and making that modification. Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks for watching!
Perfect machine, takes the place of many different machines all in one small package

@@scottybbubba1225 A true friend! Thanks for the support throughout this journey, I really appreciate it.
Nice that ArcCaptain did that! When I bought a YesWelder 2 years ago the first one they sent me, was a dud right out of the box. After a few emails, and they sent me another one free of charge. So it’s really cool to see both companies honoring their warranties! I also have ArcCaptain’s TIG 200. Really cool little HF welder for my first attempt at TIG welding.
And I appreciate your full transparency with us! There’s not a lot of people who would have the guts, to post videos of the mistakes they have made. Nicely well done Sir!
@@oldscoutinks_7482 I was impressed with how they handled the situation. They have been great to work with so far. I want be honest on the channel. I’m a pretty opinionated person, and when it comes to tools and equipment, I feel like that can help someone out. Thank you for watching!
Does the TIG200 do anything that the new MIG205 MP can't do?
@ the TIG200 only does TIG, and ARC.
@@oldscoutinks_7482 but the functions of the 205MP Pro are a super set of the TIG200? So, if I was to purchase the 205 MP it would have all the features of the TIG200 + some additional features.
@ No, the MIG 205MP does everything that the TIG200 does and much more. The TIG200P does AC TIG, which neither of those other 2 machines does, but I believe that’s the only major difference. Thanks for watching!
Looks impressive! thank you for your time. I really appreciate it.

You don't need a fixture table but about 2 dozen 5/8" holes would make a huge difference in clamping work pieces down.
@@nuttsgt8394 Yeah, I’ve considered drilling some holes, and I just might. I would really like a fireball tool table someday, but that’s quite a large investment.
@@Freedomfabrication777fireball tool makes a jig setup you clamp to your table and move it around it’s like a alignment flat bar with holes in it that allows you to drill your own holes in your table to make it a fixture table and it’ll be pretty accurate 2” on centers guess you would want to use a mag drill one option. Fixture tables definitely not needed we made one about a year ago and there is definitely benefits of having it though but definitely not needed great video 👍
great video!!! i would love if you could do a video on pulse mig on steel... I am looking into buying a Mig with pulse because I am having a hard time welding overhead with regular Mig and buying a Miller with Pulse is like 5k... the other option is HTP 220 pulse that costs 2k dolar. The new Yeswelder Firstess DP200 has pulse mig but only has programing for 035 wire from what a saw online. A video on youtube shows that HTP 220 pulse works on both c10 and c100 even though from what I read Real Pulse mig requires C10 because Pulse Mig is a spray type of welding. But it would be nice to see this machine running pulse with 100% Co2. I have a Co2 tank and if i can do pulse mig with 100% Co2 on steel, it would be awesome.
@@rick076 I will see if I can put something like that together. On a side note, why do you think you are having a hard time welding overhead with mig? If posting a video of that would help, I could also try that maybe. Thanks for watching!
@Freedomfabrication777 ... thanks for taking the time to help... the hard time that I have with mig overhead is because of how fluid Mig welding is... I am a truck driver(dont weld everyday) with an old car carrier trailer so I have to do flat, horizontal and overhead welding and because of the difficulty, I gave up on overhead mig... when I have to weld overhead, I use fluxcore because I dont have the dripping problem that I have on mig... on the other hand there is a lot more spatter with fluxcore so I use a leather jacket to protect myself... After I saw a video on Pulse Mig for mild steel... I saw that Pulse Mig has a ton of advantages over regular mig (except the price of machines)... easier to weld, better penetration, almost spatter free, nozzle stays clean longer, faster welding, longer stick-out... from what I read... in my case, Pulse Mig would complety replace stick welding with 7018 and Pulse Mig would be my method for 99% of my welds. What I find interesting is that even thought I have been learning to weld for about 5 years, only very recently I learned about Pulse Mig... I would assume it was not talked much about because of the cost of the machine. There aren't many videos on RUclips about Pulse Mig on mild steel. And I could only find one guy on RUclips who did the experience of using Pulse Mig with 100% Co2 even if not a true Pulse mig... Maybe a Globular Pulse Mig.
btw... since you have a good communication with Arc Captain... I would like to share something that I hate about all Chinese welders... they dont offer the option for a longer Mig gun... 10ft is very short for me to work on my trailer... 12ft would be a good improvement and 15ft would be awesome. A slip-on Nozzle would also help... I hate having to unscrew the nozzle to clean it... but only 10ft mig gun is by far what I hate the most.
@ I will try to mention that in the next Arccaptain video. I appreciate the feedback.
Je m'attendais à voir la découpe plasma au final j'ai prrdu mon temps...

whats the duty cycle on it? already reserved the early bird special. pretty stoked for everything this can do...
Wow, I never new that about the dual voltage machines, that was quite the smoke show.
@@neilheriot2361 Yes it was. You can see in the video, I gave it about 6 seconds, between switching plugs, but it should’ve been more like 10. Won’t do that again! Thanks for watching!
Semi retired Jim here from BC, up north! Subscribed and enjoy your vids Just a question about tig. Since I'm a beginner, do you find the Arccaptain setup with valve on torch is better the the foot pedal? Would seem to me to be a bit of a pain to haul the pedal around to where you tig, whereas the tig torch has the starting valve right there with you. Not sure if I'm explaining that well enough lol. Thx. Keep up the good videos!
@@Jim-lg6br If you have to do mobile TIG work, the torch with gas valve on the body is by far more user friendly. The finger control like ArcCaptain offers, definitely has some advantages when you’re working on something that doesn’t allow you the option to use a foot pedal. For shop work, I do prefer the foot pedal so I can fine tune the amperage to where I want it. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!
Hey, I was curious how do you find your angle for your handrail on your handrail jobs?
@@justinmadden5546 There is a couple ways you can do it. I will either put a level on the nose of 3 stair treads and then set an angle finder on that, which will give you the angle, or you can measure the rise and run on the stair treads, and then lay it out on your welding table or floor, and use a protractor to get the angle. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

@@PeterHatch-mx7zc I’m a little confused about your question. Are you asking for my opinion on an all around good plasma cutter?
Great review on a very interesting machine. By the way, how long does ArcCaptain recommend that one should wait before switching input voltage?
@@SFS13-01 I believe I timed it and it was around 10 seconds. I would say it’s better practice to just watch the screen make sure it turns off before switching voltages. Thanks for watching!

A foot pedal would make this a lot better.
@@MyLilMule for shop work, I agree. And I do believe they sell one for this machine.
A problem I see with that machine is the location of the pressure regulator and moisture trap. If it gets hit hard or bumped , any moisture in the trap potentially spraying all over the power points in there. Other than that nice little machine.
What grade & diameter alum wire on the spool gun running? Also will it run 5p? Good job on the video.
