    As long as it can handle my i5 13500 i don't have a problem with what it offers.
    It should be way more than necesary for that.
    Thank you for the brief review.
    Edit: as a brief addition to my comment, after almost 2 months of usage, this board is prety good. My cpu can boost up to 4.8 ghz on the performance cores with no problems.

    I got one for 100 dollars including tax and it also allows ddr5 and it is replacing a optiplex 990 mt motherboard so everything about the motherboard was a win win

    Really helpful review video, thank you Avrona! It was really insightful to become aware of the possible limitations of this MOBO. I found it whilst looking for reviews of the DDR5 model. Yep, there is one now : the B760-Plus, but it looks like no one reviewed it on RUclips. So in case anyone is in the place I was, looking up all the options you have in 2024 and hesitating to go for it, read on for my experience with it. I got it even cheaper than the price mentioned here from Asus directly, and I got to say it was an absolute steal and COMPLETELY worth it for a budget conscious build. Underrated as hell in my opinion. Let's be real, if you are considering this MOBO you surely do not care about overclocking of any sort. So I think the criticism here, whilst valid, isn't fully applicable to what the user base will be. Also, who overclocks? Only a select group of power PC users really. I know most users do not. In my friend group no one does, yet everyone built a PC... I got a MOBO for overclocking in the past, and never really ended up using that feature. When I did, I quickly gave up as I could not be bothered with the faff. So you gotta really think if you are the type of person who will spend hours tweaking parameters just to get a maybe 10% performance uplift. But to be clear: do NOT pair this MOBO with a 13th of 14th gen i7 because you would most likely be wasting the potential of your CPU as Avrona mentions. In this case, better spend 50 bucks more on a proper Z790 Gaming or something to get the value for your money. However, I paired it with a 12th gen i5 and I got to say it is working absolutely perfectly. The number of power phases is a somewhat over-hyped feature at times, and not having that many with this level of CPU will not matter *that* much though it may limit it a bit (you don't need to take my word for it, check out what JayzTwoCents says in his recent video about where PC builders waste money). With 3 M2 ports, the 'lack' of SATA ports becomes somewhat less of an issue in my opinion. And still, 4 is more than plenty enough for the vast majority of users. Apart from a disk drive you will nearly never use after setup, and maybe one SSD or HDD, what are you gonna need any extra SATA ports for? In my case only 2 out of 4 are used, and I am a pretty involved PC nerd. Likewise with the USB ports, honestly between the rear panel and the minimum 1 or 2 you probably have on the front of your case, you gotta ask yourself, how much more do you need? Comparing that to any pre-built desktop or laptop where you have two single USB-C ports it's still an absolute luxury. And again, much more expensive boards will maybe give you an extra 3 or 4 ports max anyway. I think the real disadvantage with this MOBO that was maybe not mentioned here is it DOES NOT HAVE Bluetooth nor Wifi. This is something you can easily fix with a cheap PCI expansion card, but I think it is real disadvantage for the type of users who may go for this MOBO which is worth considering. The other thing I noticed is the latches or the PCI ports are crap and snap off like butter. If you secure your devices in correctly this is fine, but it goes to show the quality built on those plastic parts is a bit cheap. I was quite impressed with the machining on the steel parts which looks really good though. As far as cooling goes, it is hard to comment on for me because I have a monster of a case , the HAF-X, coupled with a massive Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler, so cooling was never an issue and I am idling at 28 degrees Celsius. This is 7 degrees cooler than my old MSI board though, which was a proper high end one back when I bought it. Finally for the audio jacks, I think this only matters if you want to hook up a home cinema or something to your PC, which again, I doubt you will if you are considering this MOBO. I use an external sound card so it was completely irrelevant for me. Tl:dr: the updated DDR5 model is a FANTASTIC MOBO for the price as long as you understand the limitations and what sort of build makes sense for a MOBO like this one. In a nutshell this is fantastic MOBO for an enthusiast/bang-for-buck type build.

    Honestly I am very happy with my MSI MPG X570E Carbon WiFi... But the price was painful. Then again I'd rather spend good money on my motherboard since I expect to keep using it for 8+ years... Those who plan to replace the system quicker might not be into the price and want a cheaper board. Really too many corners cut in this motherboard imo

    I got DDR5 version of this M/B and it sucks! I had replaced the board and it would not help. Finally, I returned it. It does not support 14th Gen of Intel processor. Update BIOS would not help. Beware of this board and opening support case with ASUS is a nightmare. The support guy is terrible.

    Is it the same case for GPU performance with motherboards? Like budget motherboards not being able to handle mid-range GPUs?
    Because my motherboard started having issues when I swapped out my GPU for a better one.

    • @Thomas_Angelo
      @Thomas_Angelo 2 месяца назад

      That's because you have to delete the old gpu drivers before installing a new one. b760 has no problem with a mid range gpu like a 4070 ti super

      @@f.f8971 sorry yt doesn’t show me every reply. I’m buying parts next week to replace the old ones, specially the motherboard and ram as I’m getting the blue screen of death. I never did get an answer but the mother board seems solid enough and if you’re pairing this with a 4090 I guess I don’t need one. You might want some kind of support for the 4090 though unless you’re mounting it vertically it’s probably gonna lean a little cause that is one beefy boi. Have fun with that

    159$ is very expensive for a "mid tier" board that doesn't even feature OC, which is kind of a big deal on Intel.
    A board such as this should be like 75$.
