I really appreciate this video. I think it solved my problem with the Mob6 2024. I had not done any soldering or firmware changes outside of changing the orientation of the battery connector. The quad was having failsafe/brownouts right after takeoff and resetting the vtx to 0 power multiple times. I decided to make one change at a time, and the first thing I did was go to status and identify which gyro I had. I had the one with the 3.2kHz update frequency and I changed the PID loop frequency from 0.8 kHz to 3.2 to match. This seems to have solved the issue. After two batteries of no issues, I also added the Karate tune preset, which made it fly even better. I've flown 5 more batteries since with no issues and will fly more later today. This is my first high kv whoop, and I am loving it now. Your video saved me a ton of frustration. Thanks again.
I'm glad my video was able to help you my guy! sucks that were experiencing these issues with these AIOs but it's good to see that there is still a chance to get it fixed. Hope happymodel also acknowledges this and make appropriate changes. Also, I think that mindset of only changing a few things at a time is great and most of us (including myself 😅) should adopt that habit too. Glad I could help! and thanks for watching!

My VTX died after a month, first I got horizontal lines which seemed to be some sort of interference from the ESCs, then after a relatively minor crash it broke completely I ordered the new 5 in 1 air FC to replace it, so hopefully it’s a bit more durable, at least this one doesn’t have the VTX at the very front of the board
I honestly haven't flown mine too much but honestly, it's not that too great of an aio and I'd rather get something else at this point. Sucks cause I was gonna use it for the Hachidorii lineup I had. but in the other hand, heard great things about betafpv's new AIOs. Looks like imma be using that for my builds. Also love the fact it has 16mb of Blackbox which is really nice.
I think it was because of something regarding filtering and Pids since it was "solved" when I set PID loop freq to 3.2 khz and having my filtering and pids set as shown in the video. I think it's "solved" cause playing around with the master slider (increasing it beyond 1.1) increased the chances of the whoop randomly rebooting. feel free to try my backup file but yeah - be careful. in some of the links I've included in the description, someone suggested a faulty regulator but I noticed I would get random reboots even in the start of the flight so I'm not sure if that's what I had.
Have you heard about the motor noise issue in the video signal of some mob6 2024? There are white diagonal lines in the picture when the motors are running. It is very annoying and I am desperately searching for a solution. As it seems your model was not affected. Do you have any idea what could be the reason for that or a hint where I could find other users for discussing this issue? Thanks!
my model actually has it too 😅 I think the dvr kinda has lower resolution but it's very obvious on my fatsharks. I did manage to lessen it a bit using the settings I have but it seems to be caused by some other issue. Some have also suggested replacing the camera but that has mixed results. I'm just at a point that I don't want to tamper it anymore 😂 while it's flying well
@@im_ricebowl What do you mean by replacing the camera has mixed results? Has anybody tried it, if with a different camera the noise lines are still present? I ordered a caddx ant lite and hope that this will help. The original camera of mob6 2024 is a nightmare anyhow. :-(
@@matt_mega I personally have changed between the runcam nano 3 and the 199c cameras and I still get those lines. However some other pilots say changing cameras fixes it. side note, not sure if you want to use the caddx ant lite for this since its a fairly large camera compared to other whoop cameras - essentially gonna take the bulk of inverted crashes and is a little heavier.
@@im_ricebowl Have you tried to shorten the camera wires as much as possible? Besides that a small capacitor on the power lines of the camera either on the aio side or on cam-board side could help as well. I will test this when I got my ant lite and the problem still persists. Is the ant lite really so much larger? The diameter of the lense cover and the size of the board seem to be the same. Weight is almost the same or even less then from the original cam fx17-b .
@@matt_megaI did not try to shorten the wires as mine already has short wires and I don't want to stress those wires when I disassemble this. I also don't want to modify anything with the circuit given that a. this is a bnf that shouldn't be tampered with that much b. I don't want to risk it (as mentioned in my video) and c. I don't really mind the lines at this point - as long as she flies fine and those lines are minimal. my ant lite is coming at 1.6g without any wires or connector. You're right, compared to the 2024's camera they're the same size but you will need a diff canopy. idk, I'd prefer the 199c, pinch cam, or the betafpv c03. any of the smaller lighter cams
Hey I got same problems like you especially in turns it wobbles around. I have now the uav tech 1/2 S whoop Preset on it and it flys better but only with 2bladed props btw same as yours has this gemfan 1208 i think. But if i want to switch back to the 3blades tjat come qith the drone it wobbles iat hovering. Now like 8 from 10 times 1 motor twitches and it wont start. It just happens when bat is full I think. I contacted tiny whoop they told me to record the issue on dvr and send them i will do that tomorrow. Thats so disappointing finaly i got it fly nicely and this next problem happens. Looks to me there is the next shit just waiting for me to accour next lol
dude that is exactly why I stopped working on mine. A lot of people had high hopes for it but nope - issue after issue and at some point, I'd rather buy spend a bit and get a diff aio. I still have mine and it's on a newbeedrone cockroach frame. It flies but I don't fly it often - kinda just have it for keepsakes on a wall
have you tried changing PID loop freq to 3.2 khz? that's what made the most difference to me....unless your issue falls within the other issues in the links I've provided in the description
@@im_ricebowl Are poles - magnets? Was a general question. So I just look at my motors and make sure in betaflight in this section the amount is correct?
@@Braincho yupp betaflight actually states it as number of magnets if you check the motors tab. Most times you dont have to check as motor sizes usually have a standard number of motor poles. I believe smaller motors like for whoops have less poles mainly cause of the limitations of manufacturing at this scale

Just got mine today and loving it except it’s just a tad jumpy sometimes and I might try some expo first but my thing is when getting out of power loops around my room or a matty it can be a bit tricky getting out of it sometimes but again could just be bad piloting since I’m mostly used to outdoors😅

How did you manage to change the gyro update frequency? My 2024 came with BF 4.4.2 and the frequency is automatically locked. That is a new feature of BF. Mine is locked at 8.00 KHz
@@gtc7160 I believe gyro is locked but the PID tune is what I changed. Also, you may have a different superx version/gyro cause it's locked at 3.2 for mine (I believe mine is superx V1.0)
@@im_ricebowl I do believe we have the same board. I checked your backup file. Mine is version 1 also. The manufacturing date is probably different. In your video you are flying very quickly. Not mine. Maybe they swapped in a gyro which isn't doing so well. I see yours is locked as well. The number underneath (PID loop freq) should be at 1.6 according to BF. It is supposed to be half of the gyro freq. I have a Mobula7 1s with ELRS and out of the box it worked just fine. I have a Tiny Hawk I & III. The 7 is a breath of fresh air compared to them. Man, i just burrnt my third esc on my third drone today, all tinyhawk tinywhoop.... do you have any advice to try to get it working? Is it emax a bad brand for aio fc?
hmmm how'd it break? I actually really like emax and had the original TH freestyle. The Aio of that guy lasted me so long (2 years in several frames and builds). unkess you know how to hot air solder, save yourself the hassle and just get a replacement board sadly
I also have video noise the same as yours after I arm my Mobula6 2024. I didn't see this problem when I watched the reviews on RUclips. Are we getting a lower quality product when we buy this drone? My drone can reboot after a hard landing. And it reboots twice in the air during a calm flight.
Exactly! and atleast from my own testing, changing some betaflight settings also affected it. Though I don't know which ones. I hate to say it but it's possible. Especially since they're probably rushing with so many pre orders. Carefully try my settings. Idk if it'll help and I can't guarantee if it'll work but I've crashed mine tons and have reached voltages around 2.9v without those reboots occurring so far. so from my own understanding, it's not a regulator issue, but it could be either a software issue or qc issue. idk yet which one.
I'm having the same issues I have 2 mob 6 24 both look perfect when I plug my battery in as soon as I arm both have noise coming through, thank you for making this video.
@@jayzzz1234ok it’s more of a big drone thing but have you thought about soldering a small capacitor on to where the pigtail attaches to the board? It made a huge difference in my 5” drone, maybe would help here too?
If it was just video noise, I'd say it could be the antenna. You may want to re-seat the antenna, or try another. Also worth trying setting video to Raceband 8, if you're not already on it. But rebooting after a crash sounds more like a board or power connector issue. Check if the battery connector's solder joints look normal, if it does, then I'd probably try to contact seller for a replacement/ refund
My VTX went out after a crash, I replaced with a zues nano, but now I can’t get it to connect to my controller when it was already binded before? Can’t get to go into WiFi or anything. tried dump from HM and re flashing. But no avail. Think the board is just toast at this point
if the Vtx wasn't connected, would rx go back? I also want to ask if the Vtx was set to it's max cause that vtx is probably more towards toothpicks and larger drones and may be using up your entire 5v rail
@@im_ricebowl I think this might be it. my second mob 6 VTX went out today too… tried to throw the zues on. And same exact thing. No controller. Just took the zues off, still no controller, but if I bridge the VTX again I regain controller

I'm having the same problem with rebooting.
I tried changing the PID but no improvement
have you tried changing PID loop freq to 3.2 khz? that's what made the most difference to me....unless your issue falls within the other issues in the links I've provided in the description
8:08 - Motor poles 12 goes for this specific drone or ? how exactly does it work?
It's specific to the motors and you can actually count the number of poles on the motors, but it's a standard for whoop motors to have 12 poles
Hey man is there any tune you recommend? Just got mine today and loving it except it’s just a tad jumpy sometimes and I might try some expo first but my thing is when getting out of power loops around my room or a matty it can be a bit tricky getting out of it sometimes but again could just be bad piloting since I’m mostly used to outdoors😅
I agree the tune is a little off and the other reviewers did mention that too so it's not just a new batch issue. I know Nick burns is using the karate whoop preset (or smth like that forgot the name) and Infinity Loops went straight to quicksilver
@@im_ricebowl yeah I just tested out the karate tune out and I can feel some difference
But id like to test it in a tighter area tomorrow hopefully to try pushing my limits. Was also texting with infinity loops thru his discord and he’s also running the karate tune he was helping me thru it getting it set up which was awsome
@@Trippydozer great to hear it fam! yeah the whoop community is really helpful and were lucky to have guys like infinity loops! hope your mob 6 performs well when you test it!
I have a small space to fly so was hoping the 6 would be even better. I found a place which still has a regular Mobula6 with frsky even. So hopefully it will be more NORMAL
@@gtc7160 can you go to cli and type status? perhaps we do have a different gyro. Mine says BMI270
AWESOME VIDEO BRUDDAH!!! Lol thanks for the mention!! 🤣🤣 Glad u got it all sorted out!!
THANKS FOR WATCHING FAM!!! I was actually gonna ask permission - ill do that first next time 😅...yeah shes flying great ever since!
just wanna ask btw what you think about the frame?
@@im_ricebowl hahah always a pleasure bruddah. Oh no! Feel free to use it. Its public on youtube anyway! LOL great to hear shes flying well!! OH the frame? Its ultra light and awesome! Doesnt break so much but it does damage the props on hard impact. I actually like this newer frame compared to the previous iterations. HM did loads of tests on it. Im pretty happy with it really.
@@shogunemperor thanks! I just think its good to get others opinions too especially from people who are more familiar with these things!
yeah I actually 100% agree with this newer frame being better - personally also like that the battery tray holds batteries so much better. I just asked cause I was looking through reddit and YT a few days ago and saw people modding the mob 6 2024 to a different frame and thought "its a good frame?". Thanks again for the input!
@@im_ricebowl YEEEESSS!!! THE LIPO DOESNT EJECT ON ITS OWN!!! hahahhaha have an awesome week and happy flying bruddah!!
@@shogunemperor You too man! thanks again for the little chat!
@@im_ricebowl both broke after a little crash, maybe due to some amps drawing
Did you find the way to fix this issue? This all in one looks so promising but the issue with noise dissapoit me a lot
@@cod4scoper both the serial rx and msp vtx are on uart 1 so I feel like there is something happening with the Zeus being connected. Not entirely sure tho. Also damn a another broken vtx XD
@@im_ricebowl hooked the zues back
Up after bridging the VTX power bridge again. Everything works!!!! My old board probably works too… going to throw that one back together and see. So VTX bridge needs to be intact for ELRS to work it seems.

thank you for making this, i thought i was going crazy, i have experienced some of these issues, now i have no vtx signal in my goggles and im not sure what to do?
if you've modified anything software related, I suggest going to HM's website and using the diff file that they provide. if you haven't done anything in betaflight, best to leave it as it is for now. Check if you have low power mode enabled and check if you're on the right band/channel
Hello mate, I have mob6 as well, could you please help how you fixed mob falling out of the sky (4:45). Because I ended up running into the same problem. Anyway, very good video, thanksn
so far, reflashing (firmware shown in 4:21) and changing the settings shown in 6:28.
thanks man I appreciate it! hope it works but please make sure you've done the things I've mentioned in this video like making a backup...never know what could happen yknow
Thank you so much for your video you give my reboot issue and now flies great. You mentioned there might be more improvements to gain in the pid tune and just wondering if you have found them yet or have you updated your pid settings?
I'm glad I could help! I actually talked to several pilots in reddit and some have suggested that I go to BF 4.5 and reapply the diff on HM website. I haven't tried it since I'm a little busy with some things but a few have had good luck with that! As for my own personal PID tune, still stuck on what I have here since - seems like every time I push PIDs too far, I start getting reboots
hey i'm having the same issue as you are with my drone shutting of and restarting 2 seconds later, it only seems to happen with a highly charged battery, could you please help me to fix this issue?
that seems to be another common issue but that's actually different from what I have with mine. But, I have some links you can check in the description (particularly the reddit link) from people that have the same issue. hope it helps!
@@im_ricebowl its identical to the DVR you showed in the video, I tried to apply your filters and PIDs but it still happens. Mobula 6 flies for a bit then restarts mid air, cutting out video and control link.
@@asparagus200 the resulting effect is the same but the cause is different. mine never rebooted in the start - mines likely a processing issue but yours could be a regulator issue as mentioned in those reddit replies
@@asparagus200 Sounds like something is over heating. Especially with the "fresh/high battery" data point...
Why did you change the vtx antenna ?
actually changed it 3 times (to the maple micro CP antenna, to ORT Micro Vee, to this simple DIY dipole) to see if it changed the noise in the feed but no change. And since I just fly in my room, I don't need the range but the lower weight helps!
@@im_ricebowl it seems like they had a hard time in production ! I just received mine without any antenna, manage to plug a TBS unify pro, But now the reception is all black & white, and after a minute there is a reception degradation until I only see snow. Plus the board is getting really hot on the FC... They promised a lot but failed to keep up the production.. How does yours hold ?
Love the intro music selection!
thanks man! kept playing this intro when I was editing XD
How did you get the mid air death to stop? I have the same issue with myne dying mid flight
I changed my betaflight settings entirely. I changed PID loop freq to 3.2 khz which helped alot then I changed my PIDs and filtering to what you see in the video. I'm still playing around with settings but it's working well so far and I have not had random reboots.
though take in mind the things I've mentioned in the vid and make backups before making any changes
@@im_ricebowl I think you should not have to reduce it if your system utilization isn't too high??? Not saying this isn't a great fix, just seems odd. I would expect that FC to handle 4khz easy and possibly 8khz if you don't have a lot of filters and other things running. I mean MSP plus one serial is all it is running.
@@jeffmcclain the original was PID loop freq was at 1.6 khz actually and the highest you can go on this fc is 3.2 khz which is why I went to that. Now that I think of it, weird how the superbee f4 can do 8K

The mob 6 eco is a mess too. It literally eats the batteries. New tattu batteries are swelling up and get noticable damage. They dont hold the voltage as well as before. The eco vtx is sucking so much power, that flight times of a minute and a half are normal for cruising...
And the worst part is, happymodel isnt responding...

Sorry for your frustration with this model!
Im unsure too sadly. This is just what worked for me and changing betaflight settings completely to a custom one was my only solution as of right now. It does seem weird since the things I did was what I've been doing for other BNFs I've had in the past but I think it's just that this hardware is so new that it's likely a mixture of qc issue and software issues - based on a number of responses here. This is a rushed, broken product. I'm convinced the first wave of reviewers got a quality controlled batch.
If this was my first quad, I'd be tempted to blame myself. But I was extremely careful with it, no crashes and no major changes. I added flight modes, flew it stock settings for 5 minutes and the camera is dead.
