Akshay Kumar did 4-5 comedy drama movies with was not just super-hit but blockbuster of all times...Starting from ''Garam Masala'', ''Welcome'', ''Bhool Bhulaya'', ''Bhagam Bhag'' etc...
All The Robert jokes and references are from a Legendary Actor Named - Ajeet. Ajeet used to play villian / crime boss in Many movies. In few movies he played roles of Crime Boss named Lion and he use to have side kicks named - Robert, Michael, Lilly, Mona . He had a very peculiar way of delivering dialogue and it later turned into several Jokes on Robert, Michael, & Lilly. So he had lines like - Lilly dont be silly, Michael Go on Cycle, Mona bring the sona ( gold), Shutup Raberret etc etc. In this Movie his real life Son named Shehjad Khan was playing the role and mimicking his father's dialogue delivery.

Wow! I'm glad you guys enjoyed the movie as much as you did. Honestly, I was quite skeptical. The fact you mentioned that the movie is utterly stupid and unhinged, but on purpose.... is spot on. It takes an intelligent film maker to accomplish that and an equally intelligent audience to decipher it. It is laden with anecdotes and references from old and contemporary Hindi films. A lot of comedy in the movie stems from there and a large part of it gets lost in translation. You guys sure caught on quite a few. Some fun facts and trivia: Aamir and Salman's names in the movie, Amar-Prem, which means Eternal Love, is the title of a famous Hindi film from 1972. Bhalla's character is a reprised performance of yester year's actor (villian) Ajit. The actor playing Bhalla is Ajit's son Shehzad Khan. The two leading ladies weren't on best terms while filming and there were a lot of fights between them during the 90s. Salman and Aamir have worked together in only one film. Allegedly, they did not have a good working experience. The movie did not fare well at the time of its release but has gained cult status since.

Glad that you liked it but yeah upu are right that you only got the half of it.. It gets lost in translation a lot.. There are mang references which many have already mentioned.. "Ooi maa and aaila..aankhen nikal kar goti khelta hu, aap purush hi nahi mahapuruah hai, teja mark idhar hai ,teja teja kya hai, ahut up robert and many more" Aamir plays the smart guy and salman underplays here with slightly silly character which goes totally against his image even then.. And about that shut up robert, as everyone have mentioned its a paridy of his father ajith's charactsr "loin" I remember he played similar charcter in children sitcom shaka laka boom boom back inin early 20's
Each an every dialog in the movie is a classic and has been re-used through the decades. It literally is a cult classic in India. The movie is so stupid that it's such a fun watch...😂😂
Many people were still waiting for the same character to make the second part of the film once again and people would watch it with the same intensity because the second part of many films was made.
Shut up Robert was dialogue delivered by Ajeet in movie kalia I think which was the biggest hit of shatrughna Sinha and ajeet was a huge villainous character in that era… this guy is the parody of that Ajeet.. Ajeet was the cousin of Dharmendra..

Songs does not depict any old songs but they were intensely created to give vibe of 50s and 60s songs.
Andaz apna apna means own style of everyone 😊
that robert guy was mimicking his father Ajit's famous dialogues and mannerisms. Ajit was a famous villain of the 60s and 70s.
This is a cult classic..... foreigners wouldn't get most jokes..coz of the context....I have watched this movie more than 50 times😂😂
Glad that you liked it but yeah upu are right that you only got the half of it.. It gets lost in translation a lot.. There are mang references which many have already mentioned.. Even the names of femae leads ravina and karishma..
A total riot this movie is..
And so many dialogues are used in our daily lives.. "Ooi maa and aaila..aankhen nikal kar goti khelta hu, aap purush hi nahi mahapuruah hai, teja mark idhar hai ,teja teja kya hai, ahut up robert and many more"
Aamir plays the smart guy and salman underplays here with slightly silly character which goes totally against his image even then..
And about that shut up robert, as everyone have mentioned its a paridy of his father ajith's charactsr "loin"
I remember he played similar charcter in children sitcom shaka laka boom boom back inin early 20's
The Shut up Robert character ‘Bhalla’ himself is a parody of an old villian
And shut up robert character "bhalla" Played by sehzhad Khan is real life son on villian ajit
@@monk2559 and ironically that Ajit's character name was Teja 😂
It was a stupid comedy but i loved it since my childhood
Each an every dialog in the movie is a classic and has been re-used through the decades. It literally is a cult classic in India. The movie is so stupid that it's such a fun watch...😂😂
Totally agree with Steph, even my favourite character was "shut up Robert"
All charcters and dilogue are blockbuster 😂😂😂😂
Many people were still waiting for the same character to make the second part of the film once again and people would watch it with the same intensity because the second part of many films was made.
Shut up Robert was dialogue delivered by Ajeet in movie kalia I think which was the biggest hit of shatrughna Sinha and ajeet was a huge villainous character in that era… this guy is the parody of that Ajeet.. Ajeet was the cousin of Dharmendra..
This movie was FLOP in it's early days, now it's kind of legend.
Watch Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar of Aamir Khan’s
Theres one video of Director giving bts on andaz apna apna on 25 year celebration. You will love interview more than movie. Director-- Raj kumar santoshi
Bhalla was parody of old Bollywood villian Ajit the lion
Bhalla's role played by Ajit's own son.
girl names are switch midway in the movie but in reality when they switched name; their name is actually switched than their actual name.
