Used Vivid backup until I discovered Duplicator. Main difference is Duplicator's backups are stand-alone, no need to install WordPress before restoring.

Hey Paul! I found a small error in the video. At the 2:50 mark you say that backups for which this checkbox has been checked can't be deleted inside of the plugin. That's not what this checkbox does. It prevents this backup from being deleted when you hit the backup retention limit (see “Settings” tab) or when deleting backups in bulk on the “Backup/Restore” tab. But you can still delete it by clicking on the little trash icon. Other than that, great video-as always. Cheers!
It's faster to just zip the content file from the panel and download it via FTP. How do these plugins behave with backing up while visitors are using the website during the backup?

Like yourself, Paul I am a massive Wpvivid Pro Fan and I too love the auto rollback feature for plugins etc. Quick question though I have just started using the pro version of Mainwp, do you know if a backup initiated within Mainwp will still utilise the auto rollback feature?
@@WPTuts Yes have WPreset as well but am much bigger fan of WPvivid :-) , Also don't forget to mention with Wpvivid the white labelling option as well great for agencies. "Tiny Rebel" social night soon methinks :-)
this plugin is not restoring my backup it will freeze at some point and then will have an error message that says, restore/website timeout I forgot the exact words but that's what many are experiencing based on the support topics in the wp plugin support. the worst part is you have to install again the wordpress because it will break your website installation, what an inconvenience/hassle. I won't recommend this. there are a lot better plugin that does the job without going through this process like all in one migration and Duplicator.
Maybe reach out to their support or contact your hosting company support to see if the process is timing out, needs more resources or any other reason why it's not working. :)
It can. You need to connect the remote storage first, and then click the “scan” button. It will find existing backups and allow you to restore :) I know I'm a little late to the party, but just in case this is useful to someone…
I always admire your capabilities but it's a long time now you haven't uploaded interesting content, telling about backup/migration isn't your job, these things are just basics, and I personally feel you must share something new with us! Take it positive please, Thanks

Go back and check your facts pal. You can plainly see that this video uses the free version and I use this myself on multiple sites. You DO NOT need the pro version to do anything covered in the video. Hence why it says free.

I've used Duplicator many times and it is a relatively simple process to migrate a site from one server/domain to another. :)
I looked at Duplicator and found that manually backing up is way faster.

I like WPReset and have it on LTD. While they share some features, I wouldn’t really use WPR to manage backups staging and migration, etc.

Hey Steve. My understanding is that this doesn't get triggered when using MainWP sadly. I know the same can be achieved with WP Reset via MainWP.

Hello, your video is very good, but how do you restore the staging copy?
With me all backups when restoring is white screen. Nothing restored.. Wpvivid sucks for me.
