This such an adorable Episode. The lady gives off such a home-y vibe.
I love this lady so much. Takeo Miki (Japan Prime Minister 1974-1976) was a dishwasher here? Haha! Very cool. Another awesome Sheldon episode.
What a beautiful woman. Such a great disposition! Sheldon you have a way with people. It is really neat to watch how people open up to you on the show. Much thanks!
What the hell?! That lady is so precious and sweet. I forgot there were people like her in this world. There is still hope.
What's not to love about the interaction between Sheldon & Jean in this video? Genuine, non-pretentious, natural & just plain down to earth.
This lady is lovely
She is a hoot! Another place to go on my list of places to go and eat!
What a cute lady! Visiting Maneki for sure if I ever go to Seattle!
I envy her grandkids.
+Renji Khan lmao whaaat he's just saying she's lovely
hahaha im sure that person is talking about visiting her restaurant to eat dude
Thank you for your videos Sheldon! I love that you’re giving honored attention to some amazing people and their work in our Seattle community. It makes me proud to live here.
Another genuine, sincere interview from Sheldon. Great job highlighting culture and strife with positivity.
she is as lovely in person as she is in this video...even if i haven’t been in years, she still treats you as a regular when she greets you, but it’s true...if you want to eat here you better make a reservation (though it’s currently only take out now)! i’m surprised they didn’t show the miso cod collar which i think is one of their signature dishes, but maybe that would be too much fish in addition to the sakana dinner.
She's adorable! What a wonderful lady
Always enjoy content with Sheldon and the lady featured in this episode is charming. Plus, I wouldn't mind sharing that meal. It looked like yum!
I really love this episode, two lovely and passionate souls in one video. Bless you two. ❤️❤️
Our great friends from Seattle introduced us to Maneki and what a wonderful restaurant!
Love this lady, would eat there just to be able to chat with her - the great looking food is a nice bonus ;) I can't wait for the next episode Sheldon
All the owners Sheldon meets have great personalities and theyre passionate too
Lived and worked in Seattle for almost a yr, when I heard Japantown I was kinda puzzled, it must be the international district. Lol love it
Another beautiful episode.
best episode so far
Awesome content and love the personal side of the dialogue. Thanks 🙏 for sharing. I live in Seattle, I’ll be stopping by very soon. Thank you again!
She's great. Sheldon shows her her due respect. Thanks for the great video.
When you think ohhh, what an adorable old lady….. they show you and older more adorable one lmfao!
What a great story! This is on my list to visit!
Grandmas almost always have this charm
the epitome of the anime grandma. adorable
My sister would love this restaurant since she loves Japanese food, we gotta eat here if we ever come to Seattle. ☺☺☺
Simply amazing
the best sushi outside of Japan is in the greater Los Angeles area. ranging from high end omakase to budget happy hour spots, the sheer number of sushi joints scattered across the greater L.A area is incomparable to anywhere outside of Japan. the sushi culture is so prevalent in the greater Los Angeles area, not only do you have Japanese owned and operated , but you also have sushi spots that are Korean, Thai, Chinese and Mexican owned and operated
The Japanese-Americans being put into internment camps is one of the more shameful chapters in the book of our great country, but I'm glad we've moved on from it and hopefully learned much from our past mistakes. So glad that this lady is just killing it right now. Gotta try to eat there when I take a trip to Seattle.
Not even close.
Folks, she was kidding. She's not 95! She later mentioned in the video that her mom turned 87 this year, so obviously her daughter can't be older than her lol
Another great video! Keep it up and I’ll keep watching!
I've gone here every year for my birthday since moving to Seattle in 2013... except for 2020 when lockdown happened just a week or so right before :(
kind of wish there was more of a break down on the history of this place. but great video!
This video hit me in the feels
Can she be my grandma I’d eat her cooking all the time hahaha she’s so sweet!! ♥️♥️
I guess I know where I'm going for dinner tonight. So lucky to live in Seattle.
Jean and Sheldon need their own show.

I’m a simple Seattleite. When I see Seattle, and Sushi, I click.

She is so cute and sweet! A lovely lady!
Thank you for sharing this video. I miss Seattle so much but I am afraid that the Seattle I fell in love with has bean destroyed by all of the Transplants that want this place to be another Sanfran or maybe a New York.
Are these considered season 4 or just random bits of the show
I've been to the original location about 3 times and it's delicious!!! But they don't have AYCE lol

Oh my I thought this lady must be at her 60-70s until she told her age, 95????
no kidding, she looks glowing and even more youthful than me in my 20s lol
加藤みずっち she was joking u absolute moron
you don't have to be that rude you FUCKING IDIOT
Strange 7s Are you so insecure that you feel the need to insult others for making simple mistakes? Pathetic...
加藤みずっち calm tf down
^please tell me you got the joke
The video's engaging narration and lively background music perfectly complemented the visual feast of sushi and sukiyaki making. I felt like I was transported to the restaurant kitchen, witnessing the magic unfold before my eyes. What are some of your favorite food documentaries or cooking shows that have inspired your own culinary adventures?

SHE’S SO ALIVE. Damn I wish I had them good asian genes
95??? no way!
Wish I could look that alive when I am 95 If I get there.
She said she isn't 95.
She was being facetious. The host should’ve mind his manners and in the traditional way he should have served the elder.
MsLansones thats not a big thing in japanese culture, youre not supposed to serve the elder unless asked to do so. Youre thinking of korean culture buddy
“I’m not don’t worry”
She's so cute, I love her.
Brah', you Hawai'i?
1:04 did she say her husband invented the California roll?
Came here for Sheldon.
Why aren’t there a lot of Japanese people in the us like other Asians? I heard Japan is comfortable living and not as pack or expensive as China with cost of living. I wish there was more Japanese people here
