  • This video shows the last MBTA CapeFlyer of 2024 making it's way back to Boston through Buzzards Bay and Middleboro, MA. The train is first seen coming off the massive Cape Cod Railroad lift bridge Of interest was the heritage unit 1129 on its first weekend in revenue service as well as rebuilt GP40MC 1138 leading the way. Both locomotives were refurbished over the past couple years and are now rarities in South Side service.

    I think after the south shore project, they should add year round commuter service to Hyannis and Falmouth.

      Hyannis, yes. Falmouth, no. You would have to run the train between the old Middleborough station and Hyannis with no stops in between because the stations that exist for the summer Cape flyer do not have enough parking.
