In the shallows, like the other boys? Or on deeper stuff like this video? Those fish are a force to be reckoned with!! I suspect I’ve hooked a fair few on camera, they just know where to go and they know how to get there 😅😂
@@Micksgonefishing either one bro, I landed my first one the other day in about 600mm of water took my breathe away, I just love hearing the drag scream when them blue bastards hit
awesome little inshore session, ive been thinking about putting some singles on those smaller vibes as im always puling the hooks like that as well with those little trebles, have to do a trip to tackleworld and see what looks good.
Yeah we weren’t really prepared for what happened with those beasts.. I honestly thought we’d be onto schools of grunter and more medium sized fish but the big dogs were all out to play! Definitely going to get some Diablos to keep in the box for next time that happens…
Good question! Generally I’ll run a jig when there is more current and if I’m searching an area out, and I’ll run a vibe when the run is slower or if the fish are being fussy.. in this case a lot of what we were fishing was 20 odd meters and I do like to work a jig through the water column to get some decent action on the fall and in 20m there isn’t a lot of water column to work, so for this inshore stuff I do rate the vibes so I can keep it close to the bottom and have a lot of action in a small movement if that makes sense…
@@Micksgonefishing when we flooded here in brissy a few times bro the creeks got such a good flush out cleaning the banks and bottom up like the old days removed a heap of built up silt but has pushed it out in the bay in some places but its definitely getting better fishing wise 👍
Hey Mick, I got a pe3 ocean element us and seemed to either never catch fish or get absolutely smoked. i have it on a trinidad 16. I fish mainly sykes/broomfield here in Gladstone. Is this slightly under geared for this region? Cheers bud.
Nah man that combo should be fine, watch how I fight the fish using the bottom half of the rod, that’s where the power is.. what size jigs are you using? If you’re using anything under 100g I’ll say you need to go the pe 3 with the softer tip to get them jigs working…
Absolutely love your work! Come down to Tassie! You'd have a ball on the topwater bluefin right now!
Thanks mate!! Yeah I’ve gotta do it one day, I saw the trout were on down there too 😅🤦🏼♂️🙅🏼♂️

Water looks a bit green mate , good to see you you back out getting into a couple
Yeah it was pretty gross, the creeks are still mud but should see them clean up this week after those big tides and rain…

How come you weren’t using the grappler?
That’s my heavier vibing setup, pe2 is better inshore with the smaller vibes..
Jeez Mick did you have the beard and hair trimmed or is this an old vid? 😎
Haha new vid mate, she was gettin a bit wild so I thought I’d start again 😂
💯✌️

BTW 85 isn’t an even number.. just saying 😅
Close enough
It is! An even number either side of it… you could have went either way +1/-1 and you would have succeeded!
I was more referring to denominations of 5 ok
