I can only speak from a Jarhead perspective from being in shortly after 9/11 but there is just something different and humble about us in general. In no way can I even compare to the men that went through the Pacific Islands during WW2. But every generation of us will literally chew someone's leg off if it means you will get home to your family because of that. There is something that you cant explain to others unless you have been there in that fighting hole with someone that you love like a brother even if you also hate them. I can still recall every night in Basic at PI and all of those moments. The bond that men forge in those horrible moments are also the most amazing things you can ever imagine as it brings out the best in humanity while also being the worst you can imagine.

Don Father, this is deeply moving. I say that even years after I first heard the talk given my Luttrell about his Team and what happened to them that day. He gave a half-hour talk, maybe a bit longer, that was enough to have the moderator (Glenn Beck), the audience and me in tears. I felt so bad I bought his book, but haven't had the courage to read it. Marcus says he loved his brothers but never told them. Well, he didn't tell them with words. But there are other ways to say it, and they surely did understand in taking care of each other. And I'll say more: Luttrell in enduring these horrific events for our sake became every American's brother. He showed us he loves us, deep down. By going through this hell and not giving up, he became our brother. He may not realize it, but we all love him and are thankful to have a brother like him. And, Don Father, that brotherhood is shared by you, I think. That's why we love to hear what you have to say about these videos, especially the deep ones. Keep up the good work.

Best wishes with your husband and dad gig. My best friend and former business partner is a retired Navy Chief. There are times on job sites when we saved each other from bad injury or death. I'm willing to bet that comes close to the bond between brothers in arms. Those few times make me glad I've never heard shots fired in anger. We only endured it for seconds at a time. I can't imagine his determination. I just learned online that he had been in BUDS class 226 and broke a femur. He graduated class 228. What a hard core [expletive deleted] bad ass.

I remember watching the documentary that came out the same day as the movie did. ( actually watched it the following night). I have to admit I was a little confused about a couple of things in the beginning, but totally understood by the end of the documentary! I also cried and cried at the end.

I Have Total Respect For Those who have served and given up everything for their brothers and country. however I implore Everyone research more about this Operation as the Accounts from Marcus are contradicted by Other peoples Accounts including Gulab the Afghan man who harbored him and Army Rangers/Marines Who Recovered him. This is not to Knock Marcus As He had a very subjective point of view of the event but rather to knock the department of defense who decided to promote a narrative that the groups unwillingness to commit a war crime help lead to the downfall of the mission.
