The training scenes at the beginning are called BUD/S training, it stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training. Part of the training is called "drown proofing" where men have their hands and feet bound and are told to thread water in the deep end of a pool. It's designed to teach men to be confident under water under extreme stress, since SEALs spend much of their professional lives under water. The scene with men joking around the picnic table has one man in the background with a black "beanie" hat is Marcus Luttrell himself, the very man whose actions this movie is based on.
This isn't Marines training...These are Navy SEALs...whole different caliber of man. Dude in the beanie with the sunglasses is actually Marcus Luttrell. He made a cameo in the movie. REAL BADASS!!!!
18:03 so despite what movies make it seem, firearm silencers or “suppressors” really aren’t that quiet. It just lowers the decibels of a gun shot below where it will cause immediate hearing damage. But on like a decibel scale, it’s still louder than like a chainsaw. It’s definitely not quiet.
27:35 in the book, Marcus said he was shot like 4-5 times, broke both legs, cracked some ribs, broke his back in two places, and during one of the falls partially bit his tongue off.
Smoke grenades are used to designate the landing zone (LZ) for the helicopter. The red smoke is used to designate a “Hot LZ” (landing zone under enemy fire). A safe landing zone is usually marked by green smoke.
15:06 the old man looks and sounds like he’s thanking them. But I read someone who translated the farsi or Pashtun, whatever he’s speaking, and he’s saying stuff like “you’re going to die. We’re going to kill you, you’re all going to die.”
I wish you would update your patreon every time you put out a youtube movie. I want to join your patreon but you never upload anything to it. The last time it was updated was May 9th and you have released a few movies since then on youtube. :"(
Great reaction ya'll. Another good war movie is "Black Hawk Down" (2001) by Ridley Scott who also made "Gladiator" (2000) and "Alien" (1979), which ya'll have reacted to, so it'll give you an idea what a great movie it is too. It also stars Eric Bana.
They also didn’t come for a fight. It was supposed to be a simple reconnaissance mission. Confirm location of the big bad, radio in, go home, send in a strike team.
10/10 Accurate, schmaccurate Warning: Spoilers Some have cast doubts on the verisimilitude of parts of this picture. Of course, those who impugn whether some events really happened or whether they happened the way they are depicted in the movie neither underwent the kind of training Navy S.E.A.Ls do nor did they ever find themselves in circumstances remotely approaching those of the four comrades. We do not know what punishment the human body is truly capable of withstanding until we are put to an extreme test, gods forbid. All I can say is that, regardless of whether this movie is accurate 100%, 0% or anything in between, it brought me to tears. I can honestly not remember the last time a Hollywood movie did that. Very moving, very poignant, very touching. For that alone, as well as for keeping me riveted for the whole of two hours (which is quite a feat given my cynical and jaded nature), it deserves unalloyed plaudits.
The "Budweiser" is a nickname for the SEAL "trident' which is their unique insignia, people found that it looks a bit like the logo for Budweiser beer and the name stuck..

I would have tied them in a group and left their legs untied so they could slowly traverse down the mountain they would be able to make it back and the team would be able to get out of there without risk of being discovered
problem with afghan is the american soldiers were using the same path as the terrorists from Pakistan to fight and they would use the same path now they are back in power nothing has changed and those that have died there was for nothing . they also left vehicles and weapons including the logistics of the parts for the weapons and vehicles what a terrible waste of life and not blocked the terrorists from going inside afghan from Pakistan which clearly is not their country to take . those that helped the Americans will be tortured or trying to leave the country . women will be under terrorist law what a fup.
She has not watched border and URI? LOL was she born yesterday? And the guy is so loud and talkative. Just watch the movie. You dont need to talk this much. Laughing throughout the movie. It was irritating
I do not subscribe to War or Armed Forces based movies, its just a false sense of patriotism and if its based on events from current Gen then is totally a propaganda machinery nothing else, I am from an Indian Army family and growing up in army camps i do not subscribe to bravery and shit its just occupational hazard, in India armed forces are just another secure employment opportunity. Statistically speaking the bravest job in India is "Manual scavenging" its a term non Indian will have to google it.. In 2022 India had 43 Martyr from Armed Forces, and 977 deaths from manual scavenging, its similar stats across last 10yrs.

The Apache are a group of culturally related Native American tribes in the Southwestern United States. I recommend the movie The Hurt Locker
The book, 'Lone Survivor,' from which this film is made, is worth reading. And yes, it amazes me that these brave men never, ever, give up.
This movie is fitting to watch since today is Memorial Day in America.

This is fairly true to the actual event. One difference is that in real life they never considered killing the 2 goat herders.
34:30 "they were like 6ix9ine and they snitched"😂😂
Everytime I see the end where it talks about the honor code it punches me right in my American heart. 😭
Y’all should watch “13 Hours” next. Another great war movie.
27:35 in the book, Marcus said he was shot like 4-5 times, broke both legs, cracked some ribs, broke his back in two places, and during one of the falls partially bit his tongue off.
That kid is in another movie called "Bad Words" It's pretty funny.

the old man said something to the effect of "you will die tonight' it wasn't friendly at all.
Awesome reactions! Very genuine and similar to mine🙂💯✊👍
25:38 "I feel so happy right now."
😬
The goat herder said to them after there release something along the lines of “you will all die here”

the intro was BUD/S its Navy Seal training
Harry Potter reactions??

THEY ARE NAVY SEALS
The stunt work is awesome
If you guys like the Navy Seals, I suggest you guys watch Tears Of The Sun
Rules of engagement. They cant kill civilians and if they do when they get back home they could end up in military prison forever.
Looks like whoever killed the 1 million Iraqis didn’t get the memo
This is the navy seals, the best military force in the world
Hahahahaha......not even close 🙄🙈🤭

The fact remains that the SAS is the world's elite fighting force.
