Although images and videos of this homebrew game can be found through the social networks and RUclips accounts of these people, the important thing is that someone known as DiskHacker has released the ROM to be able to share it and facilitate its preservation, although the identity of the person or group that has developed this tribute game.

Well actually what they did was they turned Mario's DS model into a bunch of different sprites, because in NSMB, Mario is a 3D model that the DS's low res can't fully render.
I used to watch SML. I stopped watching when I heard Logan cheated on chilly. It's good they're back together though. I'm glad fans have finished a few of Logan's projects Though. Mafdomius made an SML movie and Dabhdude made a season 3 Finale to MLSDA. I recommend you check it out.

This homebrew game not only uses prerendered 3D graphics but just like donkeykong country it also uses sound swapping too by streaming sound effects in and out on the fly once needed, All those sound effects are of high quality, if the homebrewer stiffed all sound effects within that 64KB, then those sound effects could,ve never of such high quality, this homebrew game alone makes the snes fit well into the 3th decade of the 21st century😀
No Can-Can music when collecting invincibility stars, but the ability to collect coins with fireballs more than makes up for that. Bonus stage seems right, as does the location of secret lives. I honestly know the GB version of this game inside out. Can fully complete it twice, (for the level select) in less than 45 minutes. I know the music and level design so we'll. I feel this will be an absolute pleasure for me to play, thank you for making me aware of it's existence. 👍

@@tetrasonic91 but the Genesis didn't do what Nintendid. It was all about the marketing. DKC was a big success because people back then didn't knew much about pre-rendered graphics. Sega could do better, but Nintendo scored a point with Donkey Kong Country, and would have scored many more with a game like this, until they inevitably found out.
Daisy is Peach on Yellow... for the rest, AMAZING!!! Rendered graphics like Donkey Kong Country or Toy Story the game. I remember mi first Game Boy Classic and my Super Mario Land cartridge, with 5 years old, a present from mi uncle.
I'm not really a fan of Super Mario Land but I understand that's probably the easiest and quickest game to recreate with these kind of graphics. Wish I could see a remaster of another Mario game on the SNES. Maybe even a New Super Mario All-Stars. But that would be asking for way too much.

Intresting a lot of people forget that most of the sprites in NSMB for DS are just that sprites the game does have 3d models for the backgrounds, stage select screens and giant Mario but for the most part their almost all sprites I think that why a lot of people are taken aback when they see this can be done on snes it’s basically what DKC did with their sprites pre-rendered 3d models what’s cool is this is basically a remake of a Gameboy game with art assets lifted from NSMB DS

SNES has up to 4 background layers, depending on which graphics mode it's using. Retro Game Mechanics Explained has a great video about that called "SNES Background Modes 0-6 - Super Nintendo Entertainment System Features Pt. 04." (v=5SBEAZIfDAg) There's a separate video about mode 7.

Individual rows of pixels in the 2 backgrounds could also be horizontally scrolled separately to add even more depth, or an underwater effect seen in labyrinth zone of sonic 1.

They probably used the same trick Super Mario Bros 2 used to make Mario's eyes white. Make multiple layers of one sprite, each with different colors
