Amalgamario is both a really good name and a really good (and terrifying) idea for a Fake Mario sorta deal, i love that, dunno what's the deal with the glitchy luigi at the start but whatever ig!
However, it is maybe known that the leader of the clones is actually the one thatis now an amalgamation. The other clone is fake because i think the purple goomba at the end of mario clone calamity is a sign of that the otherworld is coming. And yet, the minions of the leader are probably the ones that died along with the otherworld. However, some horrible glitch made them alive in the underground and ready to chase mario and luigi. Thats my theory though.
Yeah, it's confirmed in the end card. We can also see the clone Luigi from Clone Calamity at the start and there's also a flashback to Clone Calamity in the middle.
