I wish there was ONE interview.... ONE.... of Christopher Lambert talking about his role in this movie. Highlander was not the only role he did that was phenominal.
This scene is made all the better by the fact decades later a researcher was in fact reunited with his best friend chimpansee just when it was about to die of old age, and when it recognized him, it light up like a christmas tree one last time.
Thanks for cutting it short. I remember the feeling of relief when I was a little kid seeing this and then immediately having it ripped right out of my chest.
I remeber seeing this a teenager... I think I cried so much...this was the aboslutely worstbit! Why they took him away from his real homeI will never know 😢 humanity the most horrific animal of all!
Actually, Baker"s suits were much more in the vein of "Harry and the Hendersons, by the same artist. Stuart Freeborn's suits for 2001 (a favorite to this day) were the direct ancestors to Chewbaca, completelt with the passive mechanics in the lip articulation. FYI. Glad you like it, many great artists on this, Rick Baker, Steve Johnson, Daniel Parker, Tom McEnroe, many others. Peace!
@@pikppa Actually, if we were using the proper names from the novel, that would be Tublat. In the novel, Kerchak was the violent leader who killed Tarzan's human father. Tublat was Kala's mate and also aggressive, although not as much as Kerchak.
@TheBellochio Yeah, they are intensely convincing, I actually believed as a kid that the apes were real! Watch the opening scenes of 2001 sometime. These were done by Rick Baker who quite obvs got his influence from the 2001 suits. The guy's quite talented.
Rick Baker is a master of ape suits. Beside this movie, he worked on the 1976 King Kong, the 1998 Mighty Joe Young, the 2001 Planet of the Apes, as well as Gorillas in the Mist and Harry and the Hendersons (a sasquatch, but also pretty ape-like).
My one problem with this movie is that I didn't care that the gorilla Dad died at the end. He killed Tarzan's real Dad. Did that actually happen in the books? I prefered the version of them Tarzan's parents getting killed by a leapord. I know they're animals, but it's kinda silly to make creatures that killed one of Tarzan's parents, now his parents, they're supposed to be characters you root for.
Father and son reunited I always loved this scene ❤
Which one was the son?
@@yort-r9t Tarzan!
I cry on 1984 , when i saw this scene and i cry on 2019 , one of the most powerful and disturbing scene i ever seen! GREAT MOVIE!

His best role.
Yeah and also Raiden.
You can blame the narrow minded fanboys for that.

1:39 - that baboon is downright offended that Tarzan didn't rescue him as well.

This movie calls him Silverbeard. He's primarily based on Tublat from the novel.
No me too, I don’t Know why It Makes me Cry

@@ernovincze2900 1976 King Kong was mindblowing in terms of effects and so is this movie and 2001 a spacetime. Far better than CGI.
Beautiful
HE WAS MY FATHER!
His true family. If at last his biological father would have survived.
The call of the nature...
Tarzan to Silverbeard: Dude, you do need a neat haircut and a razor!
