Here is some footage from a master class we put on recently. In this session, we were being coached by chorus member/performance coach, Will Harris, who makes a brief cameo.
You'll have to forgive our director for blocking the shot!
This version of Ebb Tide was arranged by Freddie King, sung originally by the Oriole Four Quartet, and is available for purchase through the Barbershop Harmony Society, at: www.harmonymark...

The 9th is SCREAMING on the last chord! I like competitive brass bands and top drum and bugle corps - extremely resonant sounds - but these here are some of the loudest and clearest overtones I have ever heard.
Why not just call it "D Tide?"
Wow this took me a while
you killed me
Well done lol
This deserves to be the first comment
😂😂👍👍👍
First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more
So I rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide
With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide?
At last, we're face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I can feel
You are love, you are real
Really mine
In the wind, in the rain, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I'm at peace in the web
Of your love
As a former member of the Vocal Majority (1994 - 97) we finally have more than one serious competitor! I LOVE your work - please keep it up!!! Ralph
Poor choice of words on my part! I did not mean to imply that there are not other GREAT choruses in the org.
This was one of the greatest performances i’ve ever heard. I want to do this song so badly with some friends at my music school!
Jesus, I wish I was in that room for this.
Unfortunately I can only "like" this performance one time. Outstanding. Beautiful. Moving. Inspirational. Artistic. Perhaps there are not enough words to describe... I pray this group continues to do such good work and share it with rest of the world.
Some of the best choral singing ever. This group is amazing. So glad they're getting into the ACDA conference.
Gorgeous. Wow!
Your rendition is what brought me here I appreciate it. I'm trying to find a place to buy the sheet music, but can't really find anywhere.
All the info is on my website, on the corresponding product page for the song: julienneel.com
Mature, dynamic, clean, soulful and so refined in tone that I damn near needed a tissue - whether for getting a little misty-eyed or for the drool on my chin, I can't say. Bravo! I will try and forget all about it by the time my boyfriend and I perform it for my 80 year old newly-wed mother and her groom on Christmas day as a little gift. No way we'll be half as glorious.
What spectacularly, extraordinarily, stunningly beautiful music. This is what 4-part harmony can do to one - just transport you into some deep heart of music and set free some human need to sing out and make gorgeous tones ( and overtones). What a joyful noise you make! Thank you so much. I had forgotten how much I love this song, but I also think I've never really "heard" it before this. Perfection.
You can see the energy it took them to sing together in such a perfect pitch
I’ve been obsessed with this song recently, and this has to be the best version I’ve found so far
back 3 years later, still obsessed with this 🙏🏼
One person below said this almost made them cry, and another one said it did. I've had to re-type this several times because I can't read the letters...they're all running together from my tears. Not going to say anything other than...WOW!
This rendition made me cry. Loved it. I will listen to ans watch more of your videos. Thank you!!!
I LOVE this. the emotion is so good and so real that even a deaf person could feel it.... the tonal quality is amazing
beautiful
Lovely rendition of Fred King's arrangement! So beautiful and heat-felt!
Bravo!!! What a fabulous vocal ensemble! This grand old romantic ballad is beautifully sung, sensitively phrased, and dynamically conducted by their unnamed music director. A big thank you to the Westminster Chorus for sharing their work with us.
I remember being in the room for this. What an experience that was.
An extraordinary and beautifull example of the human being working together
This is just SO good. Best choir in the world, for sure!
The melody and words resonate through our ears. Our vocabularies are not sufficient to describe the outstanding efforts and sounds produced by this chorus and their music. A simple "thank you" for allowing us to hear your presentation and the musical perfection.
It just sounds like this is what it was meant to sound like. Other performances go way over the top trying to be something they're not. With this choir, there's such unison and such perfection that it ought to be the gold standard those seeking to sing this song aspire to achieve.
This is beautiful! One of my favorite ballads. It sounds perfect because everyone can sing and has an ear for perfect pitch. Sometimes you get one or maybe two tone deaf people who always has the desire to sing but not the talent or gift join a choir and throw the oneness of the pitch out the window.
Perfection.
For me the most sensitieve song ever song...
Well done👍👍🎶🎶🎶
Bellaacappella BBC
Damn, that's Beautiful!!
I love!!!
👍
This was such a great performance. I was sitting just to the left of the camera =D
How very lucky you are, John! grats! :)
Gasped with pleasure and amazement at this evocative arrangement.
Amazing version.
Got it stuck in my head since I heard it first some days ago.
Happy that I found it again!
So beautiful. Enough said
i love this so so so much
This song is great but the ending is AMAZING. The simplest of chord progression can blow you away,Well done!
Of all the songs I've heard you sing, this one truly moves my very being. Such practiced vocal control is beyond description. Beautiful! Thank you for bringing such joy to all our lives.
Wow!!! You blew me away, goose bumps and all!
This is just fantastic !!!! Thanks for sharing !
Wonderful!!!!
Amazing
absolutely beautiful
after a year i still came back because of how beautiful this is 😭
Beautiful job
Thanks, Alex.
Que bueno!!!
Big Willy Harris comes on and gives a guy the fist 1.00, maybe a wrong note and Willy telling him what he'll get afterwards if he does the same again
steve FromEngland🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cool to see The Newfangled Four in other groups! :D
You should watch a lot of our other videos, can confirm they're probably in those too. 😁
So great!!! x from Holland

I had to look it up but thats him
AMAZING...!!!!!
Göttlich................................
Ich stimme zu!! Sehr schön 💚
Thanks for sharing! Wonderful!
Love
Loving it
is it just me or does the guy on the bottom row, furthest to the right, look like Ryan from The Newfangled Four?
nvm i also found joey and jackson as well in the group so yeah, its ryan
I'd love to hear a recording of this in a cathedral. I'm not religious, just for the reverb...lol
Is that the bari from The New Fangled Four?
so im geussing im a full on music nerd, i totally read the title of this video E double flat tide!!
Sounds good. Having a second director come in from the side seems odd as does putting the camera behind the director's back. Having all the singers mimic the director's moves is quite distracting.
I see the The New fangled Four lol
OOPS! I clapped out loud..
I spy a Jackson, Ryan, and Joey from NF4...
Can middle aged women audition for Westminster Chorus? I can do a mean 1st tenor...
横から出てきたぽっちゃりのおじさんが実は亡くなった先代のconductorで、誰にも見えてないけどカメラには映っちゃったんだよね。。。
JACKSON AND RYAN FROM NF4 SPOTTED SFDJKLJLGK | edit JOEY!!!! | edit where is jake omg
The guy on the right is like when you give your kid a fake steering wheel to play with in the car so he thinks he's driving.
They are doing fine without the big guy stepping in for a photo opt. lol
too loud :(
Ugh just ugh
Really the ultimate romantic male song even if its about a man having sex and going to sleep afterwards.
poetcomic1 no way this song is about sex.
@@KatanaYurr it’s literally just a guy comparing his partner to the tide, peaceful and lovely
