Good video that lad , fair play 👍 . Having been in the job now for nearly 20 years (all as a day-driver) , biggest pro of the job is the freedom it gives you . Biggest con is how it impacts on family time . Keep up the good work ! 👍
Thanks for the informative video. I am 55 and am now looking for a change from my current job of 16 years and I have found you videos very helpful in making the decision.
Totally agree my life was in Europe so lucky 4 me have no family to think of so 27yrs away in Europe was ok 4 me but may not be good 4 someone else. Drive safe stay safe
Hi mate hope you had a good new year's 🙂. I have just watched this vlog and looking at what some of the Pros & cons it seems the main con would be if you have a family and being away from home. Then possibly stuck in traffic for hours some times. Even that happens to me just doing local delivies at the moment lol. I do have some good news though my boss spoke with me on Friday and I will begin my class 1 shadow training in about 2 weeks time I can't wait 👍🏻
@@truckitprayle thank you 🙂 I am hoping to start doing some more vlogs my self as I've not done them for a little while. It would be good to get my training recorded & my progress after my training when I will be allowed to go out as a single driver in time to come 🙂. I hope it will help others who are going in to hgv work too like your videos help me & others who are taking the next steps or wondering about the different rolls out there for drivers. So fingers crossed I will be able to get the whole thing recorded my company are very easy going and it won't effect my training or concentration that is priority 👍🏻 👍🏻🙂
Hello there I watch most off your videos I’m a bus driver for over 5 years past my full class 1 and Cpc modules ready to be on the road I just need advise on what gps to buy and jobs to choose for 1st time I’m close to Southampton should be lots off work tips from y should be great thanks god bless you and thanks 4 your videos
Hello I'm doing my HGV licence training now . My question is , I've been out of work for quite a few years , how best could I ease myself back into work once I've got my licence ? Thanks for taking the time to make these videos 👍🏻
So it’s clear that hours are the biggest con in HGV driving, but do you sometimes get to decide how many hours your willing to work? Or can it vary like sometimes you have a 6 hour drive and then a 15 hour drive the next day?
Well you can only drive 9 hours a day, extented to 10 hours 2 days a week but that doesn't include the waiting around and loading so you can do 15 hours working. Some days i will do 8 hours sometimes 10-13 it all depends on traffic where you are going etc.

Tom toms are always good but if you want a cheaper option then i use trucknav.
The biggest con for me is the health side of things.
