He's just going CRAZY. Terry was pretty new to the band at this point, by the way. The guy playing the keyboards is Alan Clark, the first keyboardist the band used, who joined in 1980. The other two are Hal Lindes (rhythm guitar) and John Illsey (the bassist). The other two founding members, Pick Withers (drums) and David Knopfler (Mark's brother, rhythm guitar), had left by this point.
This was filmed at Hammersmith Odeon in July 1983 I was 18 and I was there, it was amazing at the time, although you don't appreciate it. Terry Williams was the star for me, he killed it Now play Telegraph Road
Tunnel of Love (live version from Alchemy or from Wembley) is a must listen. The studio version doesn't doesn't even compare. Dire Straits is one of the few bands that are much better live than they are on their albums. You should listen to the entire Alchemy album which is one of the best live albums ever made.
This is one of the greatest performances ever, Mark Knopfler was untouchable during this time. Try Tunnel of Love from the same Alchemy concert next. Hello, Dire Straits has created its own style of music and thus established itself in the music world. Mark Knopfler's technique was certainly anything but a disadvantage and for me he is still one of the greatest on the guitar alongside David Gilmour (Pink Floyd).

I really like you Guys and nearly all your reaction, my friends:) I listened to what you both said at the end but just when the music was building and building and gaining real momentum you stopped it stone dead and chatted for 2 minutes which I skipped because I wanted to return to the flow. Very few reactors ever pause during guitar play but other than that I really enjoyed this from you :)
