Got to talk to Forrest for an hour or so when I visited bungie last year. As a student who primarily uses Maya, it was so cool to talk to someone in the industry who knows maya way more than I do! Forest is a pretty cool guy 👍
Jason Schleifer is an OSOM animator / Rigger que helped to write Alias Wavefront (the original creators of Maya software) the firs books on rigging and also went to Weta digital to new Zeland to do the first Rigg for Gollum on Lord of the Rings, and also a very goog teacher ! I recommend his rigging tutorials too!
really nice, as a rookie 3D Artiist and a D1 and D2 Fan, I really love to see the rigging, from Bungie Devs, great Video and presentation.
The FK to IK Code was nice !
Whe I was taking my BS degree in Media Arts Animation, I really love animation and rigging in Maya. Not many artist like 3D rigging because it is often seen as "difficult" or "challenging". For me that is what made me enjoy it. I'm satisfied with my job right now but I do wish I landed a career like that doing rigging and animation. Seeing this video makes me miss the old days.
This is great work. The collaboration in their team is amazing. Thank you for sharing this!
That's how I do my rigging by code too, but in C#. As for naming conventions, you can use an integer value as a name in the software and then create an overlay program that displays a translation of that integer value into whatever you want.
C#? that's pretty interesting. Are you using Maya as well?
Looking at these old Destiny models, makes me miss the starting warlock tunics...
I loved the shorted designs of the cloaks for warlock i hate how so many amazing designs were just thrown out the window for all classes Armour at legendary level.
Some of the common and rare gear looks so well designed just to never be seen again (auto rifles especially) !
cant you transmog?
Nope
36:23 Entire hall bursts in laughter
32:09 what armor piece is that?
21:05 and i thought i was the only one hating nurbs curves.
I'm wondering more about your engine. I'm still learning python, and I was wondering how do you guys work, what are the steps.
jesus christ
