I've always been a Garmin fan. My first was the Garmin 10. I currently use the Fenix 3. Have had the 135 and a few others. The fun part in a race is going thru mile markers and hearing the garmins sounding! Very reliable. I picked the Fenix when I started doing ultras as I needed long battery life.
I remember the days that I'd map out all my runs on mapmyrun and used a $12 watch from Target 😂 I got my 1st gps watch in 2019 (forerunner 35), what an upgrade! I would say Garmin customer service is awesome too! Still rocking the forerunner 35
I've ran with my phone in my hand to get my time splits and distance for 3 years. Then i finally got myself a garmin watch, it's not the best model but for me it was completely game-changing lol
Happy with my Coros Pace2. Will either get the Pace3 or Coros Apex2 pro a few months down the road for the improved gps, dual frequency gps and brighter display. Want the dual frequency because I run around tall city buildings and on forest canopy covered trails often enough so dual frequency gps will work better in those challenging situations. Love how Coros is constantly improving their product through updates and they’ve been great when I’ve called them with questions.
I use the Garmin Forerunner 45 as a high school runner, I did have the chance to try the COROS Pace 2 for a couple weeks and it was fantastic. If I ever upgrade I’ll probably go to a more expensive garmin model or the Pace 3
I watch the Apple Watch Ultra or the Garmin Fenix 7, I am a big tech / gadget nerd I am afraid. But it all boils down to 💷💵💶💴💷💵💶, also charging and battery life is a bit of a turn off but I do like it. Hope you have a great week of training Charlie. #TeamGB #Paris2024. 👍🏻👍🏻
The battery life on Apple Watch is sub par but if you get into a routine of charging (I do overnight) you’ll never have a problem unless your an ultra marathoner or something. I see garmin users have their watch die more on runs because it’s not part of their routine to charge it. Maybe this is just me though
I use a forerunner 45 and the battery lasts 3-4 days, I’m always charge it before it reaches the last bar on its battery but you’re right that it’s not a routine. I could definitely understand how it would die during a run
I never had issues with my Apple Watch dying mid-run, but I did sometimes have issues with it not being charged when I needed it. I recently switched to a Garmin Forerunner 55, and the battery lasts a full week for me, and it charges a lot quicker than my Apple Watch, so I was able to get into a routine with charging it.
Charles hicks is the fastest Apple Watch user
“Told Tim Cook to call me” 🎶
Charles Hicks is the only Apple Watch user
This video was posted exactly when I’m looking for a running watch to buy. Thanks!
Awesome!
Coros Pace 2 is fantastic, but they just released the 3, so I upgraded for better HR tracking.

Which GPS do you think is more accurate? Apple Watch or Garmin? Some runs I wear both and get different distances. Anywhere from .05-.02 per mile
Apple Watch seems a little slower IE an Apple Watch mile seems to = 1.1 garmin miles. Might be a little off but I guess it makes me run more? 😂
You can start and stop your watch by pressing both the crown dial and the on and off buttons at the same time.

I switched to AWU from Garmin and it was a good decision
Pace 2 is the greatest watch of all time
I gotta try it
I haven’t tried many but it’s definitely great
Still on my basic Garmin forerunner from 3 years ago, gps still going strong but battery slowly dying

@@jonahmays yeah not to say you guys don’t ever remember to charge it. Just I’ve seen friends have it die more often than apple users

love apple watch ultra
Trying to cut out all the EMF radiating devices. Timex Ironman is what I found for now.. :)
I use similar one but Indian brand it just shows time and works as stopwatch
Thanks for this really helpful vid! Just a suggestion to put chapters to make it easier to follow :))
Hi, Charles, I followed u on Strava. Is the hr data from apple watch accurate?
Thumbnails fire!
Garmin all the way
“It’s a great time” see what you did there.
I was wondering if you could tell me what times you ran in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades?
His "entire running career" series covers his progression prior to college. 7th grade ranged from 20:43 to 18:12, etc..
