Hey i am new to the bmw thing. my question is without the coding, would you be able to pair a new key to the car and for the car to start? or coding have to be done first for the car to recognize the fob to start?

Hey I’ve got a 2008 335xi. Got the car used and the comfort access has never worked. I’m trying to get it working. It only has one key and it is a CA key. I’m thinking what may have happened is the previous owner lost a key and had a new one programmed without having the lost key deleted. Do you think you could help me with this? I read online that old keys can be blocked with tool32(I’ve never used it). The only program I have it pro tool. I’d be willing to pay you if you can help me, maybe we can do it remotely some how. Dealer wants $200/hr to fix it.
Showing us with an $800 device isn’t really helpful. What device can be buy that can do the job that is more affordable? I’m completely confused by all of te scanning device. I need to do exactly this.
