This is definetly Brandon Flowers singing. It's such a beautiful song and his voice is soooo perfect for it. I love him. ♥ I wish I could put this and the other few songs that aren't on an album on my ipod.
Can't believe I'm only just now hearing this for the first time. Not too sure where I've been! He sounds sooo young bless him, awesome track though, would love to see them do it live.
Everyone's gonna tell you this, and it's not gonna seem to mean anything at the time, but...I'm telling ya man, given enough time, the pain WILL fade. Just a little, at first, then subtly shrinking more and more, in the background and the corners and the overlooked spots of your days. What was a sharp pain will become a dull ache, and then eventually more like a slightly annoying itch. And then one day, all of a sudden, you'll realize not only did you not wake up thinking of this person, but you hadn't thought of them at all until just now, and now that you are, the feeling of your heart about to beat through your chest isn't there anymore. And oddly enough, eventually, you might find yourself missing THAT feeling--they will become part of your past, remembered perhaps with a bittersweet fondness, like childhood memories, but nothing like the surge of uncontrollable emotion you once felt, and thought would never go away...My apologies if this post seems wanky and/or cheesy. Just a bit of totally unrequested advice, from someone who's been through a similiar situation in the recent past.
Lyrics: Send me away I'm here on my own Hammer, stutter now Lets rock, lets roll now She says I'm obsessed I say I'm in love Oh, Me You've done it now Now send me a way out I feel insecure And Desperate But not right now I feel it now And you don't see The way I see I've got it now I'm desperate Desperate Desperate I'm better off like this I'm better off I'm better off like this Don't you know I care No, no Desperate Desperate Desperate Desperate I'm better off like this I'm better off I'm better off like this Don't you know I care No, no I wish I was myself Again I wish I was myself Again
If the Killers ever want some extra cash and more fan love, all they need to do is release a second b-sides album with all the old lost stuff like this and the covers and exclusives they've done. Once again - they'd have my money in an instant lol.
this song takes me back to last summer, isolated with basically no friends and only a controlling relationship who was the only person i saw, it was like a retreate listening to this
So I remember reading that the original musical 'common thread' that pulled Flowers and guitarist Dave Keunig together was a deep appreciation for Oasis, which always seemed to come through far more in the 'spirit' than the actual sound...this song, though, although it never quite reaches THOSE heights, is very very mid-period Oasis. In a good way
@@comedownmachine4682 I can totally see that...definitely another influence, mostly of Flowers, as they went on (not as much as Springsteen, but still)...but the pseudo Beatles-esque chords progression, alongside the distortion and heavier lead riffs, just really rings of "Be Here Now" period Oasis
It is a good change of his singing style for this song and Replaceable. I've loved The Killers music ever since their first album came out. Definitely one of the best Indy bands out there, thus their song Indy Rock and Roll. x]
+Andrés when i sing their songs, this is probably the best song for my voice i can sing as its a bit different than the rest and it can sound good :) especially the beginning and end
in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire. yeah, im a-ways out here. but i saw them in boston last month! it absolutely changed my life, i started bawling my eyes out when they came out and i saw him♥
Bar a few chords they've lifted the main riff from here and put it into Carry Me Home, good to see they still look back to their old more obscure material.
Don't even say that. These are my two favorite songs - the real KILLER tracks! However, all the songs of Killers belongs to be on albums. I can't complain, for I have it all but speaking about DESPERATE it's bloody sad that not much people gonna hear and have it. It's a great loss as this song is a GEM.
Desperate and Replaceable are always on replay! The killers are awesome
Same here. Amazed that these songs has not become smash hits, not even released on an album..
"She says I'm obsessed, I say I'm in love
Defos one of the most true lines ive ever heard in terms of relationships
Steven McHugh very true
Certainly one of the most disturbing ones (likely intentionally)
Im still a killers fan but this is the killers i miss. The hot fuss/ sams town era
Lo-fi forgotten rarities of this band are still better than any modern rock song.
"I wish I was myself..again" - what a line ❤️
Dave's guitar tho!🔥⚡🔥 Absolutely KILLING it on this one! Friggen amazing!
This is definetly Brandon Flowers singing.
It's such a beautiful song and his voice is soooo perfect for it. I love him. ♥
I wish I could put this and the other few songs that aren't on an album on my ipod.
Wow where do I start with this.. brings back feelings of high school and a first love. The killers never cease to amaze
It's 11:45 on June 22nd 2017 and I just heard this for the first time ever... on the brink of heartache that the nostalgia brings.. beautiful song
I love the guitar on this.
Should have been on Hot Fuss or at least Sawdust....
SuperGreyWardens Samstown was pretty good, it would have fit well on samstown
One of the best demos slay almost sounds like my chemical romance
Look at all that Converse.
Oh man, his voice in this song makes me go weak in the knees.
Can't believe I'm only just now hearing this for the first time. Not too sure where I've been! He sounds sooo young bless him, awesome track though, would love to see them do it live.
Yeah the Innocence in his voice tells it out.
This song should be rerecorded plus all the other songs that didn't make to an album
Please let all the b sides and demos on the 6th album 🙏
Yesss agreed, especially considering how fantastic Sawdust was
definitely one of my fav songs. His voice is soo sweet n gentle !! thanks for the Clip!!!!
Yeah this is Brandon, he's just singing Morrissey-esque, bear in mind this is from 2002 when he was 20
I love this so much I really wish they would put together another album like Sawdust with rarities on it
Wow! This is like a hidden gem!
Brandon you're killing me!!!
I'll never get over her…
Edit: 2 years after this comment: I got over her
It gets better doomer
I wish I were able to be optimistic about it… It's been a year and still hurts the same…
@@sprasle took me years, man, but it happens eventually.

That is a great song, of the great band.
THE KILLERS ARE THE BEST.
Lyrics:
Send me away
I'm here on my own
Hammer, stutter now
Lets rock, lets roll now
She says I'm obsessed
I say I'm in love
Oh, Me
You've done it now
Now send me a way out
I feel insecure
And Desperate
But not right now
I feel it now
And you don't see
The way I see
I've got it now
I'm desperate
Desperate
Desperate
I'm better off like this
I'm better off
I'm better off like this
Don't you know I care
No, no
Desperate
Desperate
Desperate
Desperate
I'm better off like this
I'm better off
I'm better off like this
Don't you know I care
No, no
I wish I was myself
Again
I wish I was myself
Again
this was a demo from before Mark stoermer or Ronnie vannucci were in the band so it was a different style

Brandon's voice is so soft and gentle ... love it
my favourite Killers song & also one of the best modern tunes ever made in my opinion. Just listen to that guitar & that voice.
Still claiming that this is the best song Killers ever made

Sounds more like the smiths. Vocally especially

"I wish i was myself again "
Sometimes I feel like that
brandon's voice here is really nice!! is voice sounds so young and beautiful. i absolutely love it, thanks for posting.
Another typically briliant vocal performance by the man himself
This is Brandon, if you listen really closely it's because he is younger and they don't have all the equipment they had before.
It is a good change of his singing style for this song and Replaceable. I've loved The Killers music ever since their first album came out. Definitely one of the best Indy bands out there, thus their song Indy Rock and Roll. x]
My favourite song in all time!!! I'm Victim and this is their best song, the music, voice, lyric...
+Andrés when i sing their songs, this is probably the best song for my voice i can sing as its a bit different than the rest and it can sound good :) especially the beginning and end
