@@HunterGathererCooking got my harlikas after watching this. Worth noting if you register your boots through Harkila pro hunter society (it's free) your boots get a 5yr warranty over the usual 2. Also, use the harlika mink oil for not care, brings them up like new
@@batmanmarkbatt yes good point about registering! how have you found them so far? i'm still loving mine even after taking them to scotland. They held up really well!
@@HunterGathererCooking brilliant, I've used them for some pretty hefty beating and picking up and my feet stayed warm and dry. Only pain, in think brambles a couple of times the laces have clicked open. When you've gaitors on as well, is a fiddle getting to the laces
These are the ones I am seriously considering. Obv need to save first lol but currently use Mascot safety boots with the BOA closure system and they are confy straight out the box. Am slightly worried about the lack of ankle support as a pay off for the lightness but I have hypotonia (low muscle tone) so am keen to try a pair
I know that their returns policy is really good so it’s worth a try. I did roll my ankle in them in Scotland if you saw that video? Hurt like hell but I still rate the boot.
Aside form pros are there any negatives? I hear that Harkila pick up alot of weight after being submerged in water. The gusseted tongue seems a bit low and the leather looks quite thin. Also seem like there is a lot of stitching quite low on the vamp.
I have a a pair of BOA boots and my foot slides forward due to slack below instep. I think if manufactures put two of these tightening mechanisms per boot their would be serious competition for laces but laces really do help customize the fit for different scenarios.
Thanks for this, firstly I’m definitely not a pro boot reviewer. My previous boots were mammut boots and were crazy heavy leaving me with all kinds of sores and damp feet. They these are like a dream come true in comparison and so far no negatives, they honestly fit my feet perfectly, I can wear them all day and I still love them. Having worn them in the wet I’ve not noticed any extra weight though.
I think that everyone has different feet and one size can’t fit all. I’m over the moon with these.
Istruggle with some 47s being just too small - would you say that they are a "big 47"?
Hi Dave. It’s such a hard thing to get a boot right as everyone’s feet are different. All I can say is that I’m what I call a hang average 46 with medium thickness feet (not wide not skinny) I’ve got slightly higher arches so I like a shoe to support. The fit is so close to perfect if not perfect, that could be different to you though. They have a great returns policy and warranty so you should be in safe hands. I’ve absolutely tanked my boots and giving them a good testing and walking on loads of terrain. They are light, hard wearing so comfortable. Really warm too
Hope that helps
@@HunterGathererCooking Thanks - if you are normally a standard 46 and your boots are 47 I'll try 48 - which is good because thats whats in stock! 🙂
7 month on, are they still intact, especially the lace
In tact, comfortable and laces are good. No damages whatsoever and just took them up on the highlands
@HunterGathererCooking yes I just watching your red deer shoot, cracking work mate, I've only ever shot sub 12 would love to take a deer one day with a big gun, new sub from me :)
@@im_badatpc7469 thank you! Much appreciated. The whole experience of shooting the stag was incredible. Lots more content to come 😊
