I think that if I was in a situation desperate enough to end up being picked in the first place, I wouldn't be able to back out. All the people there are completely out of options, that's why they've been picked. If you still had enough self respect to tell the "recruiter" to go eat a bag of... bricks the first time they slapped you, you wouldn't get selected. As for the first game - I think it's impossible to say how you'd react (unless you've seen someone get shot before, like in a combat situation or something). Fight, flight or freeze? It all depends on what your body decides for you, the rational part of you is going to be in the backseat screaming in confusion while your survival instincts takes the wheel. Personally, I'm not much of a runner, but in that situation, I don't know. It might be the day when my body decides it wants me to be a sprinter (I'm built like a tank, stocky and heavy - strong, but not fast). I consider myself a pretty coolheaded person in most crisis situations I've been in, but since I've never even been close to anything even remotely like this (or even heard anything other than air guns be fired), it's impossible to say. I don't like loud noises though, so I might just flinch too much, even if I manage to stand my ground. I've only seen the show once, when it was first released, but I remember enjoying it very much. Later in the series, we might discuss some themes in it. :)
Nice Reaction ♥️💪 This show is really amazing I hope everyone doesn't spoil anything (And Don't mention any certain episode) Just let them enjoy it 🫶✌️
I just found your channel tonight (Hello From Boston) and enjoyed your reaction and have subscribed to your channel for this series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh, haha, we actually totally agree about that, i read the first comment wrong 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ sorry, said totally about the "chaotic entertainment," which is very true🤭
@@JekyViews what I mean by that is you don’t really have to think too much as you are experiencing everything thru Gi-Hun and are just as confused as he is about everything. It’s a good mental break from the other show they are watching, which leaves so much room for theorizing. Squid Game kinda just takes you along for the ride, if that makes sense.
@@beamertoy The creator behind the show said "I just wanted to make a show that criticizes capitalism." Not to spoil it for anyone, I know the siblings have been through the whole thing already, but that's why there's an entire episode devoted to showing why when given the option not to participate, they all choose to return. The games are a microcosm of what they are already experiencing in their everyday lives, they fool themselves into believing they have a chance of climbing to the top, and operate collectively as though the process is fair, when it is inherently coercive. Some of your best chances come from cheating, and it's all in the service of debasing yourself for the benefit and entertainment of rich people, who make bets with your life. So yeah, it may take you along for the ride, but the ride is an extremely sophisticated satire. This is why the main character is painted as a greedy loser, with a gambling addiction at the beginning. It loops back around on all of these concepts. By gambling at all he is debasing himself for a sliver of hope to win games he _can_ technically win, but they'redesigned as a system to be lost. Not much different from the "Squid Games" is it? His addiction is a manifest desperation for financial security. So he's further humanized when the show puts those concepts into sharp focus through the metaphor of the games, where losing, making one slip up, means your life is over. It's not that he's a bad person, at least not necessarily, it's that he is motivated by a bad society, one that has apathy for him, *regardless* of whether or not he's a do-nothing loser. Apologists for this system are likely the types to denigrate him for being pathetic at the start, but (hard spoilers again) say he won fair and square by the end. Except he climbed over a mountain of bodies to get there. He's a better person at the beginning, but we're conditioned to judge him harshly by a cold society that churns out desperate people and cultivates greed. A lot of popular media is about this now, especially, it seems, in Korea. There's Parasite of course. Right now I'm watching a show called Little Women, which is phenomenal. It's inescapable.
Thanks so much! 🙏 We are ok, as much as we can be. we'll post an update later today (spoiler, we will continue uploading on all channels very very soon)
Haven't seen Ayala enjoy a series without crying for such a long time😂

Really? I think it has quite a lot of mind behind it. I suppose it depends on what you want out of it, perhaps.
