I am planning to soon give up on video production as it's getting to hard for me to do. So I aim to sell my gear and get the S1R and match it with my current S5 then I plan to stick to doing photography for a hobby. So can't wait to get my hand on the 47 megapixel sensor🙂
It’s not just XQD but CF Express slot, latest and greatest. Overall if I need to buy a new camera in 2022 it will be the same S1R, absolutely fantastic camera in any aspect.
Got one that was exhibited in a photography showroom together with 24-105/4 for the same price as S5II (which is now my secondary body) is sold today. Insane value for money.
Ey Jeremy! Thanks for your video. Pls could you do more content about this camara? I'm user of this lovely tank. I think there is not much content on RUclips about this camera. Greetings from Spain
Jeremy, the new S 5 auto focus is across the S series via firmware. Great video....I just purchased the new BGH1 and the auto focus with a pro lens is spectacular. All the best Roland
That's awesome! And thanks for the compliment. Personally I still wasn't impressed with the autofocus with the firmware update though, but just my opinion. The BGH1 looks like a pretty sweet camera though, what are your thoughts on how it works compared to other Panasonics?
Jeremy Neipp Creative I love it! I recently got it and it’s been interesting and challenging getting used to all the new functions especially coming from a canon t7 but it provides such good quality and pairing it with the lumix f1.8 85m just was outstanding. I’m glad I saved up for this
I was looking for a video like this for this camera. I'm not to worried about the autofocus too much because I don't do video much. This has pushed me toward taking this camera more seriously. I'm using a canon T3i now so this camera will be a big time upgrade for me.
That’s awesome! Glad I could help push you towards this camera, especially if AF isn’t huge to you, my review is honest and the camera is an amazing investment. Definitely would be a HUGE step up from your T3i. You’ll be blown away. Keep me updated if you wind up purchasing it! I’d love to see what you think of it.
I used the Sigma 150-600mm! It's a great lens, I'll include a link to my review on it below. It's on my wildlife channel that has been around a lot longer than this new channel I just built. ruclips.net/video/RwUPhhhULIM/видео.html
I think its even better at stills than it is video obviously, I think it's a really solid buy if you have the money! Personally for the price point, unless AF is extremely important to you, I don't think you can find a much better camera for the price.
Disagree about autofocus. *It is very decent.* Most issue with autofocus is a user. There are plenty setting and adjustments, depends on lens etc. But in general for photo I didn’t have any issues ever. 95/100 photos with razor sharp images it’s damn amazing rate. Most people could be complain about video continuous autofocus, but “unfortunately” it is not bad as well......and most video wave of disinformation came from early 3 years old reviews with the first firmware. (And even the it was not bad at all)
Dude, I’m not trying to paint Panasonic a bad name, I genuinely love the company and they are my favorite… but there is no denying that their autofocus is way behind 😂😂 if you’ve used any other flagship camera from a different company even once you’ll know what I mean. It’s not “disinformation” and I’m not a conspiracy reviewer lol. I love Panasonic cameras
@@jeremyneippcreative I meant in general, not you. But if I have 95/100 razor sharp fast autofocus in photos, is that way behind? Cmon. It’s not that bad
Great info, thanks. The S1r screen was a weakness for me... The fully articulating GH5 design was super for all purposes. Doing loads of adventure filming I need that flexibility. But the GH5 stills don't cut the mustard... I just want one perfect camera! Wouldn't it be nice when/if we can order custom cameras with all the features we need for what we do?
Haha I wish we could do that! Honestly, except for vlogging, I have come to much more appreciate the type of screen the S1R has since it never gets in the way, and it is much quicker to flip out... however, for vlogging the GH5 camera definitely is better.
Got one used with battery grip, extra battery + cfcard for 1500 USD, about 6k exposures only. This beast is hugely underpriced second hand, its nuts
Nice review , the S1R is highly underrated . It doesn’t get the attention it deserves .
Couldn't agree more! It's a phenomenal camera.

Coupled with the best glass, such as top Leica, and in the HD mode, its the best camera in the world for resolution!
A very clear and concise review..thank you. 👍

The firmware update for filming 5k 30p has been something I've used more of recently, it truly is an amazing device
It really is!! Glad you've loved it as well.
Good review, but can i ask if the atomos Ninja or Blackmagic can be used with S1R? I need a recommend ex recorder for my S1R
Thank you! From what I know it should be able to be used with the S1R but I haven't tested it myself.
Hi just wondering if the panasonic lenses are more expensive then the Sony and nikon.,canon or they are the same

Thanks so much I was really struggling on wether or not to get the s1r/s5/ or the Sony a7r4 but this vid made it easier for me to pick ^w^
That's awesome! I'm glad it helped out. Let me know how you like it when you get it!

Useful video thanks! Can the S1r shoot vlog video?!
Your welcome! Yes but it’s not ideal for that due to not having a flip screen which a lot of vloggers like
@@jeremyneippcreative sorry I meant V-log colour profile?! Haha I hate that it's called vlog...
haha yes most definitely, I just read it quickly as vlog haha. Yes you can shoot v-log but you have to pay for the firmware update.
Would you like to do a 2024 revisit for panasonic S1R used? By the way not many people have mentioned pixel for pixel 4K video with 2.2x crop factor.
Thanks for your review! BTW, it is ER-go-nomics.
Jeremy, what lens did you use for your bird photos shown in the video?

The price is similar now to a GFX50s... On the 2nd hand market at least in Australia.
What's your suggestions for still photo?

are you still rocking this camera?
You want the whole package? Then the S1H reigns supreme.
Undoubtably for Video it is but for photos it’s definitely a little under standard
great video. Panasonic re the best.

Hey man! Sorry but I'm not sure what you're question is?
