No, Aubrey, the comment was talking about non-New Yorkers who might not have experienced this, not New Yorkers who have. However, as a person who has lived in NY but has been away for several years, I can say that most of these things happen elsewhere too, especially the annoying person with the clipboard and the woman trying to tell her friend where she is.
Yep. This even applies to small parks in Oklahoma, Kansas, etc. If there's more than 10 people at a public park, these people start manifesting out of thin air, whether the park is 50 square yards or 2 square miles. Doesn't matter.
Hell yess! Totally on point about weird people at the park. Such an amazing team work for this sketch, they really know how to use all the cast members, the more the merrier.
Last time I was in Central Park I saw someone dressed as Big Bird sitting on a bench in front of a tunnel entrance with a cardboard box on his lap that said "Free Kittens". I didn't get close enough to see if they really had kittens 😂. Aside from not including a creepy Sesame Street character, this sketch was pretty accurate.
I love him too, but I hope he doesn't get in the bad habit of breaking character. And he was really miscast in the nail salon sketch, although there wasn't much they could do to save that sketch.
