- Todd was a mystery to me when I showed up one fall day in New Orleans. I just wanted to find the talent, and everyone pointed me in the same direction. I instantly found myself right at home hanging with the down to earth, Mark Twain's mustache looking ass Todd Day Wait. I must've looked like a crazy person, showing up with my 1999 Sony Handycam, claiming to have a RUclips channel and wanting to document great talent. After band practice, the band dipped, but the ever terminally chill Nikolai (whom you may recognize from Chris Ackers band!) stayed around to film this video with Todd. His vocal stylings have that old-school honky tonkin' appeal I love, like a young Lefty Frizzell. I hope you all appreciate the talent.
Apparently, this November, Todd's lung spontaneously collapsed and he had to operated on. It came as a shock to everyone, the doctors say he's lucky to have survived. He's recovering alright we think, but one of the perks of being a musician in America is rarely having health insurance. Really cool how a lot of young people are bringing back the old school country type music. It’s like a whole generation of this music coming in...
You do a wonderful job recording all these artists and not ruining the audio with over the top lashings of post-production reverb. I love that you retain the atmosphere of the room untouched and therefore it sounds correct and professional.
I have always been a big Jim Croce fan. Recently listening to Tod, and watching his mannerisms, I have noticed a similarity between the two.. I cannot put my finger exactly on what it that similarity is, but I feel it nonetheless.

Ya know I love the sound of a steel guitar. This was enjoyable. Reminds me of when I was younger and on Saturday we all went to a friend's house and he had a jam with friends and we all drank too much. The entire time his cat demanded attention from random people.
I live near New Orleans. My wife and I use to go all the time for the music and food. The French Quarter has change greatly since Katrina. Now it is mainly tee shirt shops and condos. Where can I find him and his ilk in the Big Easy? Besides down Royal once in a blue moon.
