They are very intelligent and build the nest on thin branches to keep of snakes and other predators and I believe they do it such a way to support the nest without the branching breaking. Even other birds cannot targets the eggs and the chicks as they have to hover over the nest to reach the prey. Not many birds can do that except the humming bird which isn't a danger anyway

The spot could be dangerous especially when the weather is bad. I wonder why it picked the tail of such a long branch instead of a more steady place?
It's safer near the end of the branch because it is too risky for the bigger predator (snake mainly), to enter its territory.
