I enjoy your trail management videos, especially the commentary and strategy associated with them. I watched your "how to operate an excavator" on the rented Kubota KX-080 to pick up operator tips when I purchased my used Kubota U45 excavator last February. That video was extremely helpful. I have acquired similar machines to manage my 30 acres of wooded property and 1/4 mile limestone driveway up here in Venango County, PA. Besides the Kubota U45 excavator, I have a Case SV300 skid steer and a Kioti 3510 tractor. Given these machines are not used in a daily construction environment, it might be interesting for you to do a video on your approach to pre operation checks, frequency of greasing the various points on the machines, and any other preventative maintenance you perform such as fluid and filter changes.
Kudos to the person behind the camera. Nice improvement on your path. I Always enjoy seeing a machine working.
I am assuming Malissa is the videographer. Quite nice work!
I have had the pleasure of working with some very exceptional operators in my past work career.
They seem to never make a miss lick or waste a single motion when working on a task or project.
I have ask several of them and gotten basically the same answer “I see the finished project before an implement ever touched the ground “.
These operators seldom broke down.
Keep up the good work Mike be SAFE and PROSPEROUS. One’s health and well being is worth more than all the money in the world.
Quick coupler, PLANNED OBSOLESENCE. They don't want you fixing anything. Throw it away and buy a new one! I don't think your road is overboard at all. It going to make hauling stuff back and forth so much easier.
Cut down the hill beyond the range targets for your fill. It's a quick source of your fill and the lower position of the targets will make the range safer.
Agree, could cut back more behind the range an make it further, I have 130 yard range and have enough hill behind to extend to 225 yards. Jla
Watching the skid steer fast forwarded is awesome, can really see what you’re doing especially with your voice overs further explaining it. Thanks!
What happened? You went to time lapse and started doing a voice over - PERFECT! Watching you progress from a stationary wide angle on time lapse really is PERFECT! Then you slowed it down and the camera just kept moving and bouncing... and I must have something wrong with me because I start to feel nausea as if I had motion sickness or something. I think you still hade things sped up... but it is much better (in my opinion) when the camera is stationary and we can see the whole area you are working on. It's just my 2 cents worth of feedback for whatever that is worth. I'm really enjoying your uploads and watching you tackle one project after another. (I still want to know what the plans are for that clearing... you really know how to keep us in suspense.) Anyway, thanks for sharing all of this with us.
Hello to the Morgans, Mike you have talked about an early spring down there in Pa. As a kid ,I’m a little older than you , I grew up in the woods . The first true sign of spring were the very vocal Chica-dees . When they started like at the beginning of the video I knew spring was right around the corner !
When the Kubota Turnpike is completed and open, I can almost see little Ty on a little Highway Patrol vehicle working radar on the straight stretch! Mike, you are a very talented man! I enjoy watching you doing so many things that I cannot do. Awesome! Blessings from Pastor Ralph Yarn, Dartmouth, NS where we just had our second dose of winter white stuff!
Hi Mike. Not overboard. The skid loader should " compact" the new road. It's filling up nicely. Great job. Say Hi to Melissa, Eva, & Hunter. 🙂😉👍❤️💜🙏
You had the award winning videographer assisting you with those close up skid steer shots. 😊
LOL. Is that your loving wife filming? Great whoever.
If you ever want to build a garden in your front yard, save some of that awesome topsoil and cover it with a tarp.
Nice start on the road project. This is one of your bigger jobs but the KX057 and SVL97 fit the project perfectly. Bigger machines can move more dirt but also needs more room maneuver and your work areas often are in the woods and tight quarters. Good call on the tree removal. Gives you a better road and even more firewood inventory. Thanks for the video.
I spent 47 years working as a draftsman/technician for civil engineers. I also used to inspect roads and bridge construction here in Indiana. Your methods are not overkill. Benching is the way to go in iffy soil conditions. Cutting out the top soil is perfect and having shale as fill is great. I have seen other methods fail and redone taking shortcuts. You have the machinery, why not use it.. Great job! I agree a roller would be even nicer but tracking it in should get the job done. I am an admirer of your work. 👍
Your bring out the reality of owning. I walk the dogs spray orange on the trees that needed cutting or pullout. Great up the great videos.
Nobody really owns their property.
They are all renters from the landlord who is the government.
Miss a tax payment and they will seize it and auction it to the next renter who will be paying the back taxes.
Morning Morgan family! 10” of snow on the ground from Tuesday in SE PA. A few more expected Saturday. Hope you are all doing well.
Good morning!
It's looking good, Mike. Pushing forward day by day. I hate that you're losing the gun range. I hope you are just relocating it and not doing away w it. Oh, that's right, i remember you saying after the road is finished, you'll have a longer shooting range. I hope your new neighbors won't mind the sound of gunshots. A very nice video today. Thank you sir. See ya on the next post.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
One of my favorite things to do is to build roads with my skid steer on my property, fun!
I like the VoiceOver comments added while watching the machine work.
GOOOOOOD
MORNING
EVERYONE OUT THERE IN OWTM VIDEO LAND!!….Bummer about the coupler, but it was an easy fix. You’re definitely making progress on that road. Really enjoy watching. Thanks for sharing
Have a day
HELLOOOO Hunter 😊
Good, umm, afternoooon! I’m late to this party. Kid duty. Nice day out here.
@@johnsadler8637 totally understand John… hoping yinz / y’all are having a great day
Seeing you maneuvering the skid steer and excavator to prepare the foundation of the new road segment is truly impressive. Your efficiency with these machines is remarkable, making me wonder if it's the equipment itself or the skilled operator 😁. Regardless, the work you're doing seems outstanding. Keep up the great work!
I've always told my family, friends and colleagues, 'don't worry about going overboard/too far until you are done going overboard/too far. All that does is slow down your efforts of going overboard/too far'.
Good Morning from Montana- Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day🤠
Nice work Mike! It's coming together and will be really nice when you get it done! - Tim
You are piling up gold, topsoil will bring big money. You get the road wider and get fill the same time if you go up hill and take those trees down leave the lower ones. Just saying! Hello to the HUNTMAN, Mr. Hunter. Good job you’re going to need a good road out there.
Nice job Mike….look forward to seeing more he finished product
Maybe you should put up some "Road Construciton Ahead" warning signs for traffic.
Naw, that would be overkill--haha😂😂😂. But it would be cool. How about a flagger on each end. Just to add realism to the project 🤔🤔🤔
Great job Mike. Your road sure is looking good. And the woods all around are looking good. Cool video 👍❤️
Good morning Morgans
The new improved road is really shaping up.
OBTW Happy 33rd you and Melissa
Great video mike those 2 machine's make quick work moving the dirt keep the video's rolling🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Tell us the price of the fitting. I think it would shock some people how expensive they are now.
The older I get, the less time and energy I have to fix past mistakes. Every time I want to take the quick patch job solution I remember a line from Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad when he was explaining how not finishing a job fully often creates more of a mess, "no more half measures".
I know the excavator is important but that skid loader is the real deal. You can move mountains with it.
THAT SKIDLOADER IS A BEAST
What about drainage? Cutting the road into that hill, you may wish you put a basin and culvert under the road to drain into that valley on the low side?
That clearing would be a great spot for daughter Eva to build her house.
You don’t want water constantly running across her driveway.. 😉
Good morning everyone!!
The spot below the dug out stump look like a great place for a retaining wall
When you were removing the road, it was interesting to see how all the, dirt/shale from the road came out in compacted little leaf parts, because it was so well compacted
Now that you replaced that bad fitting, go and warranty that fitting and keep the replacement as a spare part. I love your videos.
Excellent road work Mike, really appreciate the video and seeing how you use the ground you have and move the base around. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Sounds and looks good, there is no such thing as going overboard when you're building a road, especially like you are. Build it right to start and that way when it's done it will be usable without any problems.
Mike your going to have a beautiful Toll Trail can we use EZ pass to use it lol 😂
I think you are going to be really pleased with road when complete.
Good morning Mike you've got that new road looking great Have a great day
That skid loader sure does make short work of that. Could you imagine doing that with the tractor.
Well good morning Morgan family and friends!!
Very nice Mike 👌. I agree, a few more trees down and will have a clear wide enough road.
It's going to take a better shape when you start clearing dirt from the top ridge to even it out on both sides.
Man! Looks like you are having fun! Road is coming along really well. Making it wider will make it easier to get to the clearing and you will have more topsoil to build up the clearing
Mike, lots of topsoil there. Those trees over time have provided some great looking soil.
Good morning to Hunter 👋👋😸 and family and friends 😸😺
Good morning everyone, Love to watch a plan come together, One thought could you not rent a sheep foot compactor to pull behind the tractor or one that mounts on the front forks of the track steer. I think they used one on Ambition Strikes to pack their road. Anyway have a great weekend everyone! John Toccoa GA
We had about 3" of wet heavy snow during the night
MIKE, it's gettin there! Having a somewhat mild winter, looks like you're ahead on the plan, think yer gonna need another #10 envelope !
you should have one of those fittings on hand. Maybe make a list of a few other things too.
We've seen the skid steer does pretty good at compacting. You're running over it a million times. Should be like a interstate soon.
Funny, I also snap a picture of the sight glass. Don’t need to torque my back and neck when there is an easier way! PS: The top soil looks so rich, much like that of Michigan.
Hey Mike, get a hold of MATT from diesel Creek I'M PRETTY SURE HE HAS A COUPLE OR FLOATING AROUND THERE
On the svl 75. Changed twice. About $120 oem i believe. One was damaged during work. And one was split and stopped holding the hose when engaging hydraulic
Finally did some dirt work with the new 57-5. Yippie.
Love it when I catch Hunter the supervisor in the background, 13:12, 16:01, 17:53 that I saw!!🧐😀😀
Great video! Very cool! LOVE IT! FUN TO WATCH!
Go for it you got the time and land GET UR DONE!
Mike you will have to post speed limit signs for Melissa
You always amaze me with what you get done in a day.
Shoulda backed Bluford down the road and loaded out the topsoil to remote location
Mike go overboard? Of course, you're Mike Morgan. Love your Morgan Highway build. You will probably need exit numbers down the road. Improving your property is exciting. Keep it coming. Who is videoing this episode? Nice work.
Lol
Sweet Mike Can See It Starting To Take Some Shape looking Good!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😅👍👊❤️
Great job on the road now if you decide to bring in a disc for the clearing. Maybe we can even watch a dog race again great work.
Ever consider a 5 in one bucket for the skid steer? Letsdig 18, Chris has one for his and another guy i watch on RUclips has one. It can be used like a bulldozer when the bucket part is up.
Looks great Mike. Keep up the work. Looking forward to the progress.
Great job Mike, I think this project will transform form the area around the Outpost, just as you said it’s starting to rain here too! Say hi to Hunter, I miss him choosing his daily happy sandwich
When moving dirt from start to finish you always get a different view during the procedure which can be very helpful, it's good when you can see that!.
Your going to have a super highway by the time you are done lol. Have a blessed day.
You are the belonger of you property, you do as you please, good job, good job
Good morning Mike. In the kitchen cooking up breakfast and catching up as I was a few videos behind. While listening, I hear some words that you used a few times that brought back memories of childhood. "Like so." If you'll remember, Captain Kangaroo used to use those very words as he was demonstrating projects. So Captain Mike-aroo, excellent work all around on your latest projects! 😃
Morning Mr. & Mrs. Morgan, As far as going overboard on this project I say NO. True, my opinion means squat on this topic. I see it this way, it is Morgan property, equipment, know how, time and money getting done so whatever you want to do if fine. Hell, if you want you have the right to get Tom in there and do a nice stamped concrete drive😂😂. I'm not sure you can go overboard on a personal project like unless if course you followed my last suggestion, then I'd say yes.
You're going to have a nice road for equipment and vehicles later on. What's wrong with that. Yes, you are doing improvements, but the more important task here is that you are having a blast doing it and in the process you can justify the cost of your toys. We've all done this and I'm jealous you can and I can't. Enjoy your road project. Perhaps you could use a couple of flaggers for visual effects😂😂😂
Mike you are having way to much fun building your road. But I too enjoy building creek crossings in the Badlands to get to more cedars.
Mike another excellent piece of work and video always love seeing what projects you are working on with your equipment 😮😊❤
I always enjoy seeing what your next to do list. You can see you enjoy your life. God Bless
in my many years doing highway heavy work we were always told that the lift like you are doing had to be level, not on an angle, because it doesn’t compact well and has a tendency to sluff off after a while. Nothing to back that up but that’s what the old timer true operators told me. Looks great though I love watching people do dirt work!
That is true. The principle is that the material never really mixes uniformly no matter how hard you try. That location of different materials causes a non-conformity that becomes a slip plane when loaded. It’s like trying to stack tapered ice cubes. If everything is level, the loads only push down. Otherwise, there is some component of the load that wants to move the dirt sideways… never a good thing. I did this as an engineer in highway/heavy for 35 years.
Happy Anniversary Mike and Melissa 🎉🎉🎉
What a great machine that skid loader is
I have rocket money comes in then OUT like a rocket 😅😅😅
Wasn’t there a spring seeping out of the hill you are taking down?
Great work, Mike. Agree, that skid loader is one fine machine.
Dirt moving with just the right equipment is fun to watch.
Good Morning from a cld semi-snowy central NY. Whisky and Bourbon my goldens say good morning also
Beat up a couple of those last summer digging out stumps.
Is this going to be a interstate with toll plazas?
I am in Pa, so till booth would be the norm
Great job Mike on working on this new road
You’re not going overboard, you’re just doing it for the people. 😊. No need for a culvert? If you still have your blast certs, the people would love to see you do some site work for a blast job somewhere. 🙏
That spillover is an impressive piece of equipment 😮
How about just enjoying the video!
Thank you for the video.
I think those fitting are suppose to be rebuildable , you might check with some mechanic that like rebuilding , most supply places just want to sell you new ones. for what they cost it maybe worth it
The road is looking great Mike. Your skid loader works great and is very powerful. What a nice piece of equipment. Thanks I enjoyed your video.
Mike, I love your channel and I watch every episode. I would have to say that you seem to have a propensity to build roads, take down trees, and put down crushed rock. You are good at it. Now after everything is paved, what are you going to do?
Be careful how close you get with the leaf blower you don't want to blow fine talcum debris into the mechanical
Way to go rocket man, keep the great content coming !
Morning Mike, Melissa and Hunter, it looks like it's a warm day where you are; It's windy and stormy here in Prince Edward Island. Mike you move a lot of topsoil that is full of debris, did you ever consider an attachment to screen the soil and perhaps have another product to sell or use?
I assume this is all leading to a new house right?
