So Prof definitely sings his mother's praises and credits her in helping him develop and become successful. It's been awhile, but I heard him speak about this song and it was written over his frustration that his mother and sisters didn't want to talk about or deal with all of the trauma the family had been through. He said he was tossing a bomb to see what would happen, and at the time of his comments, he said his mom was the only one who had responded to the song.
❤️👊🏽
Going into this song for the first time, I was already a pretty big fan. By the end of it, I was a certified Gampo for life 🤘
Absolutely ❤️👊🏽
This song breaks my heart ❤️
💔❤️👊🏽
Fundamentally though, Flowerboy is about being the only son in a family damaged by a father with bipolar. So the women around him don't really talk to each other, and this song is ripping the façade off and showing the rot beneath and if it pisses people in his family off enough they reach out and talk... it did its job.
❤️👊🏽
This is how I grew up with my step dad. So I really feel the "I didn't get mental health issues" line from him and so far my siblings haven't, either. But we're all living in different places happy with what we have, and he's alone in his apartment with his brother at 62. I hope this song helped get a conversation started for him and his. It's really, really hard to work through what you grew up with from different perspectives
WOW
I cried
Thank you Nikki
❤️👊🏽😢
We can cry together Crow and smile again on the other side. Much love sister keep that energy going you are amazing
Thank you brotha ❤️👊🏽
This track is sooo beautiful, raw and honest, I just love it! I can relateYou are right this is an abusive disfuntional family Mental health issues, bring someone with you to keep you safe. his sister (nothing will change stay in your lane) walking on eggshells? I do know this feeling.
Prof has lived through some serious shiz.
I now know that and have even more respect for him now🙌🏽❤️👊🏽
Yeah , this is a tough one but sooo beautiful . I see that you watched Andre the giant immediately following this . So on we go , your sister from NYC
❤️👊🏽
I feel like you are spot on with your take...I love your empathetic heart.
I watch this when I need a good cry.
I think the woman is metaphorical for the voice in his head, because he is surrounded by women. If he dies, the voice also dies. Others have explained the situation pretty well, but I'll add that in recent livestreams he's been at his cabin & his family were all coming to visit. So, they're not estranged, they just avoid talking about their trauma.
❤️👊🏽
I saw him do this live and I feel like he gets this emotional every time he sings it. He was shook for a few
😢💔❤️👊🏽
Damn…
I’ve never heard of this artist
Wow
That’s super deep I 😢
❤️👊🏽
11:16 - You want some fun? :D Prof - Andre the Giant, Squad Goals...
OR... PACK A LUNCH (feat Redman)
Loved watching your reaction to this one.
❤❤❤I would give suggestions but you really can’t go wrong with any Prof songs
❤️❤️❤️
"My entire life I've never had a happy family
Trauma's in the bone; it resonates
Minnesota Section 8, hard times perpetuate
Driving blindfolded is just a test of faith"
Section 8 is both the discharge from the military for insanity, and the federal housing assistance.
🤯🤯🤯
JUDY!

"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" is the cultural saying, the family of choice, of those sharing the same goals (same faith) is more important than the one we were born into.
He's flipping it so well here, though, because in a family this messed up... with people this *messed up* on drugs and drink and whatever... their already thin blood is thinner.
I needed that break down, thank you ❤️👊🏽
@@CROWreactions My pleasure as always! I really resonate with Prof since we've been through a lot of the same stuff and we're just about the same age.
I still don't know what prof talking about on this but I saw him do it live 2 years ago as a show and it was stunning
❤️👊🏽
