    Your 2 videos are great. Can you confirm, did you book trains and also pay the reservation fee before you travelled to europe. We want to make sure we have certain trips locked down before we travel (say 3 months in advance). Could you do this if the pass is not activated. How did you then activate the pass. Thanks in advance.

      We did book and pay for the reserved seats ahead of time BUT we also did it after when our trains from London to Paris did not pan out. The Eurostar at the time when we went did not allow us to book reserved seats ahead of time online and we could not find a friend in London to go to the counter to buy in person Soooo we ended up taking the bus to Paris and had an extra train day and booked a day train trip to Brussels while I was on the bus. Glad we did, we liked Brussels

    Your video was really helpful!! I am planning for France, Switzerland and Italy trip this summer in July. Just watching your video, I went and booked the Swiss reservation for Glacier and Bernina express (only a handful seats were left). I am yet to buy the Eurail pass. My question was, if your train gets cancelled where you have booked your reservation online do they put you in the next train free of charges or you forfeit your money even though it wasn't your fault? What do you suggest for reservation in Italy(online/offline)?

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      You get credit to book on another train, but not sure if if want to cancel... probably allowed. Make sure you put your email and cell on the train accounts so they can contact you if canceled

      Italy probably has the most available trains and the nicest service overall. Both online and in person reservations were the easiest there

    Thank for the video. I have 1 question. I have only 10 minutes to change train in zurich station do you think i have enough time?

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      Good question... well zurich main station is not the largest ones in Europe even tho it is the largest in Switzerland. It has about 12 tracks I believe all laid out in a row but tracks on two floors so you don't have to run to another part of the station... with that said, I would not do it if you have more than a backpack for luggage or if you have someone else you need to take care off. Remember train doors close 2 minutes before the departure time and they will stick to schedule at all costs. Also if the alternative is a few hours of layover, the station is right in the middle of downtown with lots of food and shopping, the whole 3rd floor is a shipping mall... just check your luggage into storage for a few hours to go see Zurich and the Riverside area there, very pretty. hope that helps

      @@Kevin-jx9xf haha good question... well if you have a train pass and the train didn't require seat reservations, then you just hop onto the next one.... but if not then you lose your money and hope that there is seat available for your next train and pay again

    For the train from London do you have to book a train through the Eurostar site and then separately pay for a seat through the eurail app? I am going to Brussels and am confused. It seems for the other countries in my trip that maybe I can just buy a 3 day pass to cover my trips from Brussels to cologne, cologne to frankfurt, and frankfurt to Paris. But can I just add a 4th day for my London to Brussels train and then just pay for seat reservation and I am set or do I need to pay separately on Eurostars site for train pass and then eurial app for the seat reservation.

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      So yes add a 4th day and book the train route on the Eurail App, BUT pay for the seat reservations on the Eurostar website.

    • @jm-yw6cq
      @jm-yw6cq Год назад

      @The Unusual Momma it seems to me like that would be double paying. Are you saying I have to pay $50 for a day pass on eurail and then go and pay $200 for the train pass on the Eurostar site as well?......and then also pay for a seat reservation on eurial too. Can't I just pay on the eurostar site and not involve eurail in the portions that involve london? Or do you have to?

    • @jm-yw6cq
      @jm-yw6cq Год назад

      @@theUnusualMomma ir is there a cheaper way where I can pay for the train for only $50 using eurail and then can just pay a cheaper seat reservation fee through eurostar or something

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      By adding the extra day on the train pass, it gives you the ability to pay only like $35 for seat reservations on Eurostar instead of maybe $250 of whatever they are charging now for normal full price tickets

  • @rainbow-jw3og

    Can you select the exact seat from the app? I mean do I want to sit in a seat in x place?

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      Each country had different train companies and some like Italy had 2-3 companies... so online order sometimes we didn't get a choice or got a choice but not necessarily a seat map showing the seats. If you go pay at a train station then you can ask for preferences

    • @theUnusualMomma

      If you were a family of 4 then they will put you in a facing pod of 4 automatically if it's available...

    really nice vídeo :) really helpfull. I just didn't understand very well about -seat reservations-. we find the train by app, but then you have to pay for the seat reservation right? is it easy to do that?? you couldn't do it??
    very very thak you for your time and help :)

    • @theUnusualMomma
      @theUnusualMomma  Год назад

      If you see the train and it says seat reservation required, then yes you need to pay another fee on top of your already paid train pass. But the fee is a lot less than if you didn't have the pass and had to pay full price for that ride. It's not difficult but it's another step on another website... the pass is run by the pass company and the seat reservations is run by the specific train company in specific countries, that's why it's complicated. We did not get seats on the EuroStar because we could not secure seat reservations
