The White Moth is a 1924 silent film drama produced and directed by Maurice Tourneur and distributed by First National Pictures. Silent star Barbara La Marr ("the girl who was too beautiful") was the female lead supported by young Ben Lyon. La Marr also wrote the screenplay, adapted by Albert S. Le Vino, based on a magazine story by Izola Forrester.
When a girl (La Marr) tries to drown herself in the Seine, she is rescued by dancer Gonzalo Montrez (Charles de Roche). She then becomes a famous dancer known as the White Moth. She is wooed by a young man (Ben Lyon) already engaged to another girl. To keep him from leaving his fiancée and follow Mona to New York, his elder brother (Conway Tearle) marries her himself.

Izola Forrester, the writer of this story, was the granddaughter of John Wilkes Booth, the man who killed Lincoln. She was also the author of quite a few books!

I'd only seen this movie in the kind of quality where everybody looks like a shiny blur. Amazing to see it like this! Thank you so much.
