- Got this today from my Dad, ty Dad!
Really nice thing, He said he got it from a store back in the days, he did not remember when sadly.
It was released around 1987 in Seattle by a company called Fascinations.
I found a homepage for a company called that today that seems to be the same, I sent them an email and it seems to be the same I got this answer back, the last thing is interesting...
www.fascinations.com/
"Apparently it was discontinued in 1993. It used one AA battery and there were interchangeable cartridges. The films were mainly old cartoons / movie trailers and the like (around 25 second loops). Just nostalgia - nothing like clips from Star Wars, Terminator or anything like that.
More info via mail
None of those made it to the new warehouse and the old warehouse was demolished to make way for Seatac’s third runway a while back.
I did find out that some custom viewers were made for hotels as a trade show promotional give-away, but I don’t know which ones. That would have had to have been pre 1994, though
Something you may find interesting - apparently (but no way to confirm for sure), this product used the last super 8mm printing machine and the last batch of Super 8mm film. One or the other must have expired.

This was by far one of my favorite toys, I remember getting it at an airport gift shop during a school field trip. I still have a box of the cartridges somewhere and the same blue player you have there, though I would swear mine had decals on it. Some of the carts of older clips, like the little rascals and Woody woodpecker had the generic typeface on them but the more then-recent ones, particularly TV shows, I distinctly remember having drawn artwork on the carts, like Knight Rider and Airwolf.
You can open the cartridges and mount them onto super 8 reels and project them as I remember doing later with one. The quality could be really good on some but scratched/faded on others, leading me to believe looking back that some of the loops may have been reused from earlier similar toys like the ViewMaster Double-Vu or maybe even spliced from old film digests as I later had the same Superman cartoon in its entirety on an old super8 reel like you'd have bought in the 60s. The films I can remember having off the top of my head were Airwolf, Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, Inspector Gadget, Our Gang/Little Rascals, Punky Brewster, Superman, Mighty Mouse and some others I'm drawing a blank on...
Nice text to read, I whuld love to have Punky Brewster on one of this, well I love to get more of this. But in the end I whuld love to only have one of this becuse of space in my collection xD I found some photos online of this TV shows you say. It is interesting that the company that did this are still around and connected to the movie industry by doing some small metal plate construction art kit, go watch there homepage if you find that interesting. If you find your cartridge, send me a mail with photos, I love to see, you find my mail on my info page.
I thought it was just a dream I had!
It's WAS real!
As real as it can get!
I remember that particular woody woodpecker short, “Pantry Panic”.
It was interesting finding this video and reading your description; there was actually a Terminator 2 cassette for these, as I had one! It was the clip where the liquid Terminator is forming like a tear drop in the helicopter. I have just ordered one of these off of eBay as I don’t believe I have my old one, but may have the cassettes in the loft.
Hope you find your cassette for iy on your loft. Really love to find more myself. Just watch some of mine again today xD
Twiste after watching your video I managed to find one out on eBay, still sealed and with a Marylyn Monroe “Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend” cartridge. Translucent plastic viewer. Great fun! I will still look for my one in the loft though.
@@puppetkevin1487 LOVELY!!!! good to hear!
I had that one
I had one of these, mine was yellow, i had an old Max Fleisher Superman cartoon, King Kong vs Godzilla and a Laurel and Hardy cartridges (i don't remember any other). I remember, all the kids in my class were amazed by this. Few years later (well more that just a few), i showed this to my nephew, and he was like "that's crap! there is no sound, and that's super short... i can fit several entire movies on my phone!"
Oh dear, todays younglings are strange XD sad though today everything need to go sooo fast, really sad. But well, it is natural to look down at the next generation

Hi! I have Dirty Dancing for this if you are interested. Its pretty rare. I have a player but haven't got it to work, so I don't need the movie.
Hi there. I would say I am, not over joyed over it, as I am fine with just one of this. My projector still work. you can find my email in my info. I do think only the postage to Sweden is sadly to much, but maybe you have something ells too.
Sir could you please sell me one.It is my favourite toy and lots of memories are attached with this.I live in India.I would really appreciate if you could provide me with this toy.thankyou.
Sadly I only have one, if I ever somehow got another one I will give it to you for free, just posstage cost then, I am nice, but not super nice, I do not wanna break my collection. Sorry.
