Red is such a loud colour (which makes sense since it's mainly used to signify danger) so you did a really good job at not making it too intense, instead the piece just looks warm and inviting. Love it!
I would love a Kattvalk adult coloring book. It would be so much fun to color!

Ironically, this might be my favorite one. I'm not sure if it's because of the playful kitties or what it is, but I love it. I also purchased your other ones in the series already, so I clearly love those, too.
I love this series so much. Red is probably the hardest colour, like you said, but imo you nailed it! I LOVE this piece.The sky is so interesting, and the cats came out purrfectly. Some really fun plant choices too. I'm already excited to see orange!

I love the little cat that's eating the cactus. I wonder how the series would have looked liked if you did all the pieces again, but then with all the colors that you have.

I love it 😍 Even though I don't like red color, you made this artwork so whimsical and adorable, that I don't mind the red (and of course red is needed, because without red it wouldn't be a full series, and it's more important to have all the colors than a dislike of a color haha). And the kitties are super cute, I love how playful they are. My favorite kitty is the one that is chewing on the cactus. 😂

I would love to see you color this image non monochrome because I feel like it really needs it. The image is beautiful. I also don’t really like red and it is a very harsh colors so I know this couldn’t have been easy.

Yeah, that was what I was hoping for since this series started. This was a let down for my fave color but by no means ugly. I really miss the statue in this one too.
To me fall is orange and not red 😄
I absolutely love this monochromatic series! Every piece is stunning and if I rank them the margins are very slim, it basically comes down to which color I like the most. So the green one is my favorite, then pink, blue and red. But I absolutely LOVE the composition if the red one! The cat mountain was such a great touch, and I also love how you colored the cacti. The rambunctious cats are also adorable and really adds interest to the piece. Extremely well done! ❤
My favorite one is Pink BUT I do love the red

I love that circle gradient sky. It is so pretty and make it stand out from the rest and it does read “day”. I love this series and can’t wait for the next color.

Like you it's not my favourite but I liked the desert theme.
My favourites drawings are the blue and the purple that happens to be my favourite colours.

I really love how they are all turning out & couldn't pick a favourite based just on the image & finish of them. So the only way I can rank them is by colour. Green is my favourite colour so that one is my favourite so far and this is my second favourite since I like the colour red, its nice and warm and it has a special place in my heart from when I went through my black & red phase. I'm looking forward to orange and yellow too though because those complete the colours I like off nicely. I'm not a fan of blue (too cold) or purple & pink. But the pictures you made in those do look awesome anyway.
Oh and I've been meaning to ask if there's any chance of having some of the prints with the same holographic overlay as you offered on the green one? I got it in holo and its the only reason that I haven't bought the rest of the prints yet - because I would like them all to look the same (or similar is fine if you had to use a different holo overlay).
I love it ❤ you are amazing....I would be so overwhelmed with trying to make all those shades of the same colour work together for such a great result. It's not my favourite though. I think becausered is such a high energy colour (if that makes any sense lol) ...I can't pick between purple and blue as my favourite. Green too actually...they all feel cool and lush and peaceful. Which is your favourite so far? I'd love to know! It will be interesting when you get to yellow 💛 it's my favourite colour but a whole picture in yellow...yeah will be interesting
The series is turning out so beautiful!! I believe it would have a nicer contrast (and be easier on you) if the layers were like: sky- in the lightest colors (as it is); further background- in the darkerst colors; closer background- lighter colors but darker than the sky; foreground- brighter colors, with more contrast than the other layers.

The sky came out beautifullly!! And the little cats playing peekaboo is also really fun I loved it. Blue is my favorite simply because blue is my favorite color 😂 but I live in the desert and parts of NM/ Arizona look like Mars for sure especislly Sedona and the Painted Desert. I really like what you did with this.

I really love this whole series and this might even be my favourite. I love how playful the cats are but I think the whole piece is just lovely.
I wanted to check if you’ll have the entire series available as prints in your store once it’s finished? International shipping is so expensive (totally not your fault I know!) that I can’t really afford to buy them across multiple orders but I definitely need the whole set eventually!

I think it wouldve worked better if the furthest part of the bg was the darkest and wouldve gradually gotten lighter instead.

It did not turn out as bad as you think. You are too hard on yourself.
But, it is my least favorite despite being my favorite color. I knew it would be the moment you said desert scene. For me that scene would have been best for yellow and orange tones. This does not feel like a desert at all. To me this design feels rushed and not thought through which could make sense since you have dreaded it for a while.
I also think you were too hard on this color when making your selections. All the other pieces has had more colors that are between colors (except the blue one) like green/yellow or pink/purple but for red you crossed off pure reds too and used very few reds with hints of pink and orange which made it more hard from the get go. Red is a primary color and it has roots in pink, as well as orange. It was odd you gave the other colors more variations than this one. And it would have helped with the values a lot. Looking at color charts, red has so many different hues and pink has less but that turned out good because you allowed some purple/red to get through and the same for the purple one.
I had hoped red would be a fall scene given that there are so many red/orange/pink colors. Plus not adding a statue makes it feel seperate from the other pieces :(
I will skip buying this one cause I want to keep a clear theme with the art pieces i collect.
The skye is the best part of this one, and the playful cats ❤.

I love it! Yes, red is an aggressive color, but it’s the favorite when you’re choosing a Tootsie Roll Pop. I’ve seen deserts driving from Las Vegas to Reno Nevada on vacation. They are alien scapes with dust devils, a freaky turquoise pond, humps, lumps, hills and derelict mining structures. Most of Nevada belongs to the government. There are wonderful desert gardens in Las Vegas: Springs Preserve and UNLV. I live in Wisconsin where there are four seasons and lots of green when it’s not fall or winter, so deserts seem very alien to me. And I love them. So, your red desert got me thinking, and that’s always what art should do. Thanks! 🌵🌞🌵

I think when you look at them in order you see how you improve at getting the values clearly separate. There is a lot more contrast & it helps the piece feel more comfortable to look at.
None of the monochrome pieces you’ve made even approach being bad, they are all outstanding art I’d be ecstatic if I’d made, yet you see how you’ve learned in each one.
I love the toned down background, the dark spots in the front, the playful cats, the clever way of incorporating a cat statue (I didn’t notice it was a cat at first!) & the way you made a bright colour I usually find obnoxious actually just wonderful to look at. I don’t know HOW you did it but it’s amazing & I hope to get all of the prints one day, 100% including this one.

Red is really a difficult colour, but you still made an amazing piece with it!
I love the cat eating the cactus, it brings back memories - my cat once ate half of my little cactus. The cat was fine, but the cactus didn't survive, lol.
what i like to do to visually separate similar tones is, when i have a strong light source, giving objects that are "touched by light" a white border with a gel pen. it really helps and i feel like it makes my pieces look kinda magical
I absolutely love this series. Someday when I have a craft room these pieces would be amazing to showcase as a set. I can't wait until they are all finished. When I have the money I will for surely be getting all these prints!

Great job. Red is an unpleasant color I agree. I mean, I like red apples or something like that but I am not much of a fan of red in art. I guess it depends. But this is really cute and I actually like it which is surprising to me because red isn't a fave color of mine in artwork. I like the sky and the tree and the layers in the land and all the shading. I think the shading makes it work.
