Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX-8 EI-HAX leaving Tampere-Pirkkala after staying for the whole freezy night due to some mechanical difficulties. Originally, the flight to London Stansted was supposed to depart at 10.40 PM on the previous evening. Due to the mechanical difficulties, the aircraft couldn't depart that evening and a backup aircraft EI-DHS was alerted the next morning. Overall, the flight had a total delay of 13 hours! EI-HAX is seen here being ferried empty to Stansted as RYR357 with a really smoky engine-start at the temperature of -17°C. - Наука
Awesome video! Those LEAP engines sound gorgeous, long starting spool up, too.
Thank you!
If the GE90 was a toddler, the leaps would be it
It’s a cfm56
@@markgilbert2364 What is, in the video? That's a 737 MAX, mate.
@@iamra_n3189 just noticed it is
wow thats a lot of smoke! i never saw cold start up because i live in tropical southern taiwan (always +20C)
Stunning capture! May I feature this engine start in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. Cheers!
Thanks for commenting! I absolutely would love to have my video being introduced in your video so therefore the usage is approved!
Why does this startup give me chills!!??
Nicely done!
Thanks man!

Good job!
Thanks!
Very good video.
Thank you man!
Hyvä video
Kiitos!
Какой красавчик!!!
Nice video! I guess these engines are not used to the finnish climate 😅
Thanks! Yeah, they'd rather avoid this place since three RYR 737's broke down here only this winter season, and we have only 2 weekly flights. 😃
Was this a turnaround or originating flight? The smoke seems like a first start of the day but it’s so light, so well into the day. Wondering if Ryanair are overnighting crew away from base at all? Apparently that’s not how they normally roster…
This aircraft was on the apron for over 13 hours, due to mechanical issues. Arrived from STN on the previous evening, seen here departing back to STN empty at around 12-13 PM. Backup plane was dispatched on the same morning, departed an hour before EI-HAX, i have a video of that as well.
@@Finaero ahh, okay thanks. That explains it! Weird to have a brand new MAX grounded with tech but it could’ve been very minor and just a lack of support away from base. Makes sense for low cost…
In any case, it’s great to see action from Pirkkala! Tampere is my new home, I wish they flew over the eastern suburbs on the way in. Have seen a few F/A-18s fly over the past few weeks actually.
@@iamra_n3189 That's great, welcome to Tampere! I recommend to visit the airport at some point. Tampere is the main host of the IIHF 2022, i think we're going to see some nice charter flights here. There will also be a lot of military cargo flights in the future, as we chose the F-35.
@@Finaero yes and thank you! Very cool, I’ll keep an eye out as well as your channel.
@@Finaero subbed! 😎
What's the loud hiss at the start of engine start. Heard it on the leap 1a too
That's the APU bleed air entering the air turbine starter for the engine. The compressed air from the apu spins a small motor (air turbine starter) that is connected to the engine accessory gearbox, which then starts to turn the high pressure compressor section of the engine itself.
Hey Finaero, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) 🙂 Cheers, Felix
Sounds like a fart startup on the Leap Engine 😂
