dArtagnan are just so much fun to listen to. And the singer is indeed part of Feuerschwanz, you are right.
They did a video for the song Farewell which features the amazingly beautifully talented Patty Gurdy.
I love D'artagnan , i'm super excited someone finally reacts to them. The songs are so fun ! I always feel like i'm in some kind of Medieval Fair !!!
Something about the lyrics: they wrote it for their fansbase, as the C. raged very high here in Germany and it was a very rough time for them and all of us. It is a push-through song and for me, it will be one of the few good things I will remember when this hell ride is over. Rough translation of the lyrics:

Yeah, you are right It's Ben Metzner who is Prinz Hodenherz from Feuerschwanz! I was waiting for you to recognize him! He's pretty distinctive looking.

I'm just here because you're awesome in any way anyway but go for the d'Artagnan / Patty Gurdy collaboration of "Farewell"^^.
Also: "Wallenstein" is awesome^^!
Mind you everything they do is decidedly more folkish than, say, Viking Death Metal which also has a lot folk influence and also a lot more mellow than Feuerschwanz or Salatio Mortis but it's oh so *hummable* ^^!
Also, if you want a genre parody that has everyone of the medieval scene in Germany (and is there even such a thing musically elsewhere? ;) ) plus evidently ironically inclined pop bloke Sasha, whom you know from one of the variations of "Hypa Hypa" (and I suppose that says everything about him ;) ) watch "Kaufmann und die Maid" - it's super catchy (and really, really silly) ;).

It's the same as Feuerschwanz, these two bands are friends and have been making music together for years. Dartagnan is just his own project.
At Feuerschwanz there are a couple of other well-known artists from German music or, as a well-known international example, Melisa Bonny
Now we have 17-18th century metal music... I can get behind that haha. Metal of the ages keeps adding to the list! ha
Their first two albums are really folk-rock, mostly acoustic. They added more hard rock elements for this album (Feuer & Flamme).

Thanks for doing this one, wasn't sure you could do it since it had the VEVO logo on it (I hoped it being on their own channel would tip the balance). This was just a random RUclips discovery I made in the spring; I didn't even realize the Feuerschwanz connection until way later when I saw the singer in the background of the video for "Ding" when Tank reviewed it. Their first couple albums are mostly acoustic folk-rock but they added a lot more hard rock instrumentation for this one.
Seconding the guy who suggested "Farewell" featuring Patty Gurdy as another song from this band to check out.
The thing that tripped you, they do a lot of songs about French AND German history (e.g. "Chanson de Roland" is about one of Charlemagne's knights, "Wallenstein" is about a famous general who fought on the Catholic side of the Thirty Years' War, and lost to our buddy Gustavus Adolphus whom you heard about from Sabaton) and do use a fair amount of French.
The video was originally blocked (VEVO) as we expected (regardless of being their own channel or not VEVO is an immediate block) but we asked for their label to help us and Sony Germany cleared it for us to use it.

We don’t do VEVO videos because they get blocked, so there is no point. We had to really ask for some favours to get this one unblocked
