You should check out Feurschwanz, dArtagnan is one of the two lead singers in the band and they do a lot of very good (oft times silly) songs. Highly recommend starting with "Ding! ft. Melissa Bonny".
Thank you, I'll check them out!
Warriors of the Western World (United) cover of ManOWar with EVERYBODY
d'Artagnon is HUGE across Europe
Here in Australia we a limited to castrati making pop noises and have not had real MEN singing men songs (this one is about brotherhood never giving up - Sempre Fidelus)- NEVER GIVE UP - NEVER SURRENDER
ALSO Check out the English version...
A well, there is the awesome *Wallenstein* by D'Artagnan, then there's the *super* poppy *Chanson de Roland* by them, for contrast, and you could watch the hyperinsane fact that a band lead by a member of a medieval metal band (the aforementioned here *Feuerschwanz* ) is playing in a old peoples music festure thing "Fernsehgarten" ;)^^.
Well, that's Germany for you ;).
Also if you feel like it check out the awesome stupid/insane "Kaufman und Maid" - *everyone* from the German medieval rock/metal scene is in this plus the singer of abysmal pop normally Sasha, as "Saha the Bard" ... he seems to be a generally not that bad bloke (just horrible music), he's also in one of the versions of Hyper Hyper ;).
Also by D'Artagnan is the really nice if super soft *Farewell* with the super talented Patty Gurdy, who, oh shock, plays the hurdy gurdy and is also a *Floor Jansen trained* singer ;).
As you see the European and to an even greater degree the German medieval music scene is strongly intertwined with the metal scene.
Or it's back to metal, also fine^^.
Best regards
Raoul G. Kunz
Thank you so much for all these suggestions and info I'll be making sure to check them out.
greetings from Köln/Cologne....not big in germany yet...but a great band....one of the first and now most known ´medieval´bands here in europe and after 25 years on stage is the band Ín Extremo´..
Ran into them because of their cover of “This Corrosion” by the sisters of mercy. F’n awesome.
@@Nightcoffee365...Hell Yeah, awesome song..the offic.music video is great too
I think someone already suggested checking out Feuerschwanz who have the same singer. There's two covers "Ding" with Melissa Bonny and a cover of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" with Angus McFife which are really good, but their own stuff is also good. They are a medieval rock band (Mittelalter-Rock)
Oh I did end up checking them out and may already have recorded a video thats coming out this week ;)
@@Jaimunji Nice!
As others have mentioned, the singer, Ben Metzner is also in the amazing German folk/parody/medieval metal band Feuerschwanz. By D’Artagnan I also recommend Farewell featuring Patty Gurdy. 🤘🏻🙂
I'll check both of those out this week
I saw the recommendations above. But I need to say again: Feuerschwanz. And their songs like Ding and Meister der Minne.
DARTAGNAN made an English version of test la vie :) look at it
Will do!
this band and manny bands like this are showing up at festivals in Germany. Also orher european mediavel/viking/pirate metallbands are regulars .
There is a big scene for mediavel reenactment, bands and HEMA.
They had a hurdy-gurdy playing along with the fiddle.
I enjoyed that too. I live in the UK and i have not heard of them either but will check them out now. I am a big Powerwolf fan.
This song is off their 4th album.
If you like folkrock from germany, take look at Tir Nan Og: ruclips.net/video/fC9POw-FMNw/видео.html
just discovered this band a few month ago,i know not what they say,but i know how to move to their music. they're my new favourite band
Love these guys and this song. There's an English version on their new album. The translation of the first line of the chorus is "For who does not fight has already lost." Hell yes.
Just finished listening to the new album, amazing and I did love the English versions as well.
thx for your reaction, and welcome to the german medival metal rabbithole, but ok thats not realy medival times they are singing more about maybe barock time. and yes they are quit popular in germany. If you want to check out a nother great band, i recomend saltatio mortis, songs mabye loki, brunhilde or theire verison of my mother told me. they are way more rocky and metal than dartagnan. If you want to listen to a great progressive metal band, without the medival vibe, i would recommend Null Positiv. turm der Angst would be a nice song to get into that band. the singer, she kicks ass, and she is easy for the eyes and you wouldnt have to worrie about your wifes taste in Male hairstyles :)
They are probably more Reneaisance Rock than Medieval Metal
@@helheimx or barock or maybe rokoko :)
