Andrew Haigh really is one of the best directors out there. Weekend is a fantastic debut film. 45 years and Lean on Pete although not as top tier for me as Weekend are still great watches. His TV show Looking is highly rated. I did like his other TV series The North Water with Colin Farrell, Stephen Graham and Jack O'Connell but it's a bleak watch and Farrell is fantastic as the shows Villain. Plus it's great to see Andrew Scott get some shine in a main role. Fantastic actor.
It got to me, but much later in the evening when I was thinking about it, is a film that has not really left me. I also think it has a very strange atmosphere, that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Overall, just like Aftersun it's a significant achievement.

Agree 100% percent! 🙂
Legit I've not stopped thinking about this film since I saw it twice on Saturday.
And it's Friday for frig sake!
I know the feeling.

THE film from the festival I've has not left my mind. One of the best of the year for sure
Certainly the most emotionally bruising that’s for sure 😭
Weekend is a classic. So beautiful and well acted.
I loved this film. It most certainly lingers.
