Just found and subscribed. Props for laying on your backs on cardboard in the driveway! I’m very spoiled having a big garage and lift. 04 GTO here. Just put a new stroker in and hoping to hit 10s this season. Love your channel and your passion to our sport! You guys from Jersey have always been the bomb when it comes to LS stuff!
Thank you for the support! All we want to do is work on cars and track the progress of the additional mods. Its absolutely our passion! If you go back far enough youll find our GTO vids. I had an 04 GTO a few years ago.
If you have the computer tuned after this swap providing you can get good traction I'm thinking .3 tens off 0-60 and .5 tenths off 1/8 and 1/4 mile times if you you can get it to hook
Great video, and i will probably use this as I'm doing mine! What did you do to get the axle out? I have a diff i bought from a friend am looking to save some money and swap it in myself, but only have pretty basic tools. A mechanic I know said use an air hammer, but I don't have one 😢.
We used a pry bar to get the axle out. they can be stubborn to get out if they have been sitting in there for thousands of miles but maybe spray some pb blaster where you remove the axle nut (if its not coming out easy). I usually pry behind the knuckle and shake things around to pop the axle out. sometimes they pop out easy and sometimes they hold on for dear life! lol you got this tho
@@The1st60ft good to knwo, Let's hope she comes out easy! And thank you so much! I'm nervous because I've only ever done light things like brakes and struts before, but I think I can figure it out. I do think while I'm in there I'm going to get some of the the bmr poly bushings to throw in and change the the fluid.
I’m looking to do the same. Are there any additional mods for the new diff to fit or does it bolt right into place? Also I have the Camaro axles I want to install. Will they also fit right it or are there additional parts/mods needed?
@alexlesch1885 the Camaro diff will bolt right into place. You will need to measure both axles to make sure the camaro ones will fit. We used the G8 axles tho
We were basically trying everything to break it free. You can use a rounded end punch and smack the center of the axle, use a crowbar in between the axle and hub maybe heat the hub so it expands or spray PB in there. Eventually it popped free
Take the axle out first, before unbolting the hub. I don’t mean all the way out but break it loose first, then unbolt the control arms. Your hub moving when you were hitting the axle is killing the momentum. Just posting this for others that come by and read the comments. I did just send our g8 in to the shop to have our first rounds of mods done though. It’s my wife’s daily but we are looking for a 3.27 diff right now to add to it when it comes back. Great video though.
Heyy man question on your l99 camaro what spark plugs do you run or recommend? I recently had mine tune with headers, exhaust, intake, and ported intake with rodmod that the car came with but not sure what to use. Love your videos btw and camaro
@@The1st60ft what gap do you use on cause when I got my car tuned I was told by my tuner to gap them to .35 but my car started running like crap and misfiring… so I put old acdelco plugs at .40 I had on before and it’s running fine
Where did you find the differential for that cheap? I have a 2013 camaro ss (auto) and I believe I broke the gear inside the differential and would prefer to just swap another differential into it instead of rebuilding it.
@Sin3xtreme it's highly recommended. The 2.92s are too long of a gear and the G8 isn't a light car. The 3.27s really help get it moving out of the hole alot more. Plus it really helps with burnouts 😏

Great Vid thanks guys

Awesome! Check out the whole G8 Playlist with all the Progress and 1/4 Mile Runs 🤘
Very cool 😎 👌
Those are the best jack stands ever made.
Just subbed I got my g8 this n Monday 3/6 and already trying to change it 😂
Thanks for the content..👍

Did you have 2 of those Silver washers behind the nut or did u have one
@@SuperStarPimp just 1
Thanks
just curious guys, with no axles ...why neutral ? will it destroy trans? great work !!
Make it easier to turn the prop shaft I'd assume to line up the bolt holes, but that shouldn't matter as you just spin the diff to suit 😅

You are a god thank you. I’m being told I need Camaro knuckles. Easy enough, thanks for the quick reply
@alexlesch1885 goodluck with your swap!
Did you need a tune to correct the speedo and possibly shift points?
Yes
Is this the same or similar 327 that came in the G8 GXP's?
@user-eh5cr4or6k yeah Auto GXP came with 3.23. Manual GXP (very rare) came with 3.70s to my knowledge
What did you have to do to get the axle freed from the hub? Keep beating on it with the dead blow hammer or something else?
We were basically trying everything to break it free. You can use a rounded end punch and smack the center of the axle, use a crowbar in between the axle and hub maybe heat the hub so it expands or spray PB in there. Eventually it popped free

what ramps are you using? Also how hard was this to do, and what parts do you need or is it plug and play

Nice F_body btw. Subbing you guys!
How did it drive after the diff swap ? A lot more get up and go?
Oh yeah, it really helps get it moving. Does a nice burnout now. Those 2.92s suck

A friend of mine had it. We weren't planning on doing the swap but the deal was too good to pass up.
Is there anything different on this vs a caprice ppv?
@josiahs9559 I can't be sure because I haven't worked on a Caprice yet
Is it necessary to replace diff bushings when doing this? My g8 gt only has 40k miles and was thinking of swapping them with this junkyard 3.27
Diff Bushings aren't "necessary" but they stiffen up and flex
2010-2015 SS Camaro..LSD got a part number and anything else i need to know?
Nah you gotta find a for sale page or maybe marketplace. Pretty sure '10-15 V6 Camaros are 3.27 rear too
Iirc it’s just the manual v6s that had it. Auto ss has it also.
Whats the benefits of doing the swap, i should do it to my wagon
@Sin3xtreme it's highly recommended. The 2.92s are too long of a gear and the G8 isn't a light car. The 3.27s really help get it moving out of the hole alot more. Plus it really helps with burnouts 😏
@@The1st60ft ya had me at burnouts bahaha
Did you need a trans tune with this swap?
Yes because it will change your shift points
a v6 3.27 wouldn’t necessarily be an upgrade right?
Yes it would be from the 2.92s
@@The1st60ft i just figured the ss would be better cause of the amount of hp and abuse it can take would make the difference between the 2(v6)
Would this work on the v6?
It should but don't quote me on that lol
Did you use the stock g8 axles in the new 3.27 diff?
Yessir
Bro where are you located?
South Jersey

Maybe 2 or at least 1/10th
