3:20 honestly impressed by how you're able to find the correct notes on the key in like 2 seconds. Please make a video about this because it takes me a lot of time trying to find the ray notes in the octave to match the melodies in my head, Thank you
I'm admittedly to cheap/lazy to implement these but just to throws some possible ideas that might help you out, here goes. In order of Cheapest/Easiest to hardest: 1. Cheap+Easy =There are pitch tracking apps that are meant to be used to help you learn how to sing/play on pitch better. However, many have a recording feature and will show where your pitch was alongside the playback of your actual singing. Most of these are free or very cheap to purchase and could be used as a quick and dirty method for getting you a decent starting point of reference. 2.Expensive+Semi-Easy = Microphone+Melodyne. It's an audio manipulation program that works the way I suspect much of the general public thinks that autotune works. There's actually a lot this thing does but... It will show your exact pitches (for better or worse) and will allow you to do things like edit the pitches, the length or placement of your phonations (
I just use my old digital piano to find the note. For the first note I just sing the note and play then note and check if they match or not. Other notes I can find by relative positions of the note and a lot of trial and error in my daw. Takes 5-10 minutes for an 8 bar melody
The easiest way is to chart it off a piece of paper and trace line when pitch is higher with your voice line goes up, so you basically draw the pitch and "rhythm" at the same time
To add to the 2nd method, just the fact that you can sing your melody means it's bound to be catchy and memorable, since anyone can pick up the tune and sing along as well.
thank you for helping me with counter melodies and so much more. you are extremely talented at what you do, dont stop. everything you make is a banger!
There is no such thing as a counter melody, it is called harmonies ! People that call themselves teachers don’t even know the name of the things that they teach.
@@christophermudd7844 Bro counter melodies are definetly a thing. By your logic melodies also dont exist and are just harmony, but thats clearly not the way you should look at it. Counter melodies are seperate melodies that support the main melody.
Just found your channel Ed, and wanted to say your content/tutorials are dope! Super helpful and direct to the point. Thanks for sharing the knowledge with everyone! 🙏
bro can you do a video using a melody loop , like from looperman , and show us how you could make a full beat out of something like that? i struggle making a beat around melody loops that people sent me or i buy
Nice video bor. Not long not too short and no waste of time... I think you should do a video about sound designing and sound selection becuz thats super important for making a vibe.
Great video, great content, great guy, man! I can't stop hearing that "You about to lose your job" song when the beat drops (I scrolled to see if anyone else thought this but I guess I'm alone😅). They'll mix so well haha. Keep up the amazing content man!
Singing your melody has the added benefit (in Ableton, not sure about other DAWs) of being able to transform audio to MIDI. Quality of recording doesn't matter. I've started using this as all you have to do is adjust the notes, but the timing you want is perfect cause you sung it!
I liked this video. It's no nonsense. I'm tired of youtubers claiming you have to learn music theory in order to make beats. I highly doubt every producer studied music theory before making beats. I'm sure most just play by ear. People are trying to overcomplicate things.
@@EdTalenti nah bro i know how much it means because i kinda do the same thing and im just giving what i expect myself bro. Im coming in the game soon and one day we will collab hopefully it takes time but its worth it. Put out as much as you can bro ❤ much love
This was really informative thank you! I've never written a song like this and I don't have the software to do so I don't really know why I searched this up but I did learn some things so thanks!
Hello mate I am new in the music production industry and I would like to make how to use this specific midi controller you have.. btw your channel is 🔥🔥
A good tip is when you have a melody and chords only have the melody hit on the chord if the melody is the root note of the chord. Otherwise it’ll sound strange.
I've learned so much from you, I do this same thing in my remix virtual dj. Only problem is I have no music theory skills except camelot wheel. Trying to harmonicly mix 2pac chorus never call you bitch again 😒. Sounds so bad
Good advice! My preference is to keep it even more simple.Too much going on with the additional layer of chords for my taste. Less is more, especially in this genre.
I swear you're telopathic, every time i struggle with something you put out a tutorial on the same day! madness.
😎
EDTalenti is one with the Universe 😁
So simple and effective tips I really like that "singing the melody" tip
That's my favorite one for sure!
I always do it. Who doesn’t 🤷🏼♂️
The humble way ho to give fire advice. Thank you Ed.

That’s just years and years of piano practice. Start by searching for beginners piano lessons.
If you use ableton....you can record yourself in the software and convert the audio clip to midi (melody)

Not a fan of drill but a drill beat over this melody would be fire🔥
Good stuff, subscribed
Thank you!!!
which program do you use ?
Another gr8 one bro nice! What did you use to make the 808?
the first one kinda reminds me of Angèle
learning ableton! ty
For the intro what did you do to slow it down like that? did you half step ( or gross beat half step) the original chords with low pass filter?
Hello mate I am new in the music production industry and I would like to make how to use this specific midi controller you have.. btw your channel is 🔥🔥
"no music theory required"
"So these are the chords that I have"
I suggest Sonarworks plugin. Because you got small monitors you are over-boosting lows.
this is such a dope tutorial!! Thanks for sharing this 🙌
Happy you enjoyed it!
This is sickk !! Can you teach us how to do a tape stop effect ?
Ed talenti comes up with that fire tutorial🔥

Hey cool tutorial! I was wondering how did you add notes and also keep those reference chords that had the faded color.
I miss these videos
helped alot!
did you post this? really wanna add this to my playlist
Dope bro!!!
Thanks!
Omg! ”they're just chords" I can hear a music theory professor screaming. 😂😂😂
Dope..new to channel can you go over ghost notes in ableton?... also just cop the push as well

1:45 how is that done in ableton ??? I mean, being able to see the notes of another channel. what is the shortcuts?
you have to click on both midi clips first, and then open the piano roll
Super video , thank you so much ! How do you have the chords visible on flute track at 1:47 ? I never figured it out ...
They added it in Ableton 10. Just select multiple midi clips and open the editor. It will let you edit more than one at a time 👍
@@EdTalenti super , grazzie.
what do you call the sound of the first chords? theyre fire asfff!
6:23 - beat is done
hey man what drum do you use?
i can't find one that sounds so good.

Wooow that’s dope, what reverb and vst you used for the piano to make it so perfectly vintage ? 🤯
