I do this trip every year, done it in my McLaren, 981 spyder, 986 boxster and a plain audi. Interlaken and the surrounding valleys are amazing. Can't believe you didn't do the Furka, Susten and Grimsel passes, 2.5 hour loop from Interlaken and back and 3 of the best and most iconic passes in the alps. Still a reason to go back. 👍🏻 ps next time you travel through France leave the autoroute just south of troyes and take the D996 to Dijon, an unbelievably great road and welcome diversion. And you don't lose any time.
Dear Paul seems like you know the road of Europ very well 👌🏼 I am getting my 992 in the next couple of months in aventurine green I am super excited. I want to take the car to europ and need advice on road trip where to go etc can you please guide me? Do you have a planned road trip you can share if its not too much to ask. Cheers pal :)
@@natiazar5933 congratulations on the new car, awesome colour! Depends what you want put of your trip? Scenery, outdoor activities or just some fast driving and fast food?
Just a note, the 992 Targa GTS isn’t lowered on the sport suspension like the coupe and cabrio models. The Targa GTS uses the 4S suspension. That’s why it’s more comfortable than you might expect.
Great comment. I agree with you. I regularly drive a 992 4GTS coupé with a glass and sunroof. A super daily and sports car, even pottering around town or passing at a slow pace through villages. The 911 is a wonderful car which has become a classic for good reason, as it’s 60th birthday demonstrates. And yes, Switzerland has some of the very finest sceneries and landscapes one could wish. I well understand and share your enthusiasm.
You perfectly blended a car review with a trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world which helps us dream of not only owning a beautiful car like this but creating life experiences as a result. I have a Ferrari 812 and Lamborghini Hurrican Evo Spyder but there is something about the Targa GTS that is making me pause and think....hmmm, maybe one Targa GTS is all I need...
Man... your travel/car videos are so good, Stef! I actually forget it's about the car sometimes. I visited this area a long time ago, went into the mountain with the waterfall. Can't remember the name. Great memories. Nice work! Highly entertaining 🙂👍
beautiful and great car. no doubt about it, the 992 platform is one of, if not the best out there, but I enjoyed watching this so much just because of the surroundings and amazing views!
All this "it's one of the best... blah blah blah" is so fucking boring and totally nonsense, because everybody knows, you just can't beat the Porsche 911 concept! The Porsche 911 model range is totally flawless and unprecedented in this industry, and other sports carmakers just can't compete with the amount of versions and versatility of the Porsche 911! In just some months, there will be even a "Porsche 911 Dakar" off road going version.
U seen the video of the internals of this thing? I just got my new 911s 992? It’s like a jet engine on wheels. I managed to get to 60mph in 2.9 seconds with launch control yesterday. What a machine! Lovely video. Thanks for sharing!
Great video fella , just one thing mentioned about the Gts suspension/ helper springs ! Unfortunately the Targa is the only one in the range that doesn’t have this nor can you spec it. The targa Gts carry’s the Targa 4S suspension. I unfortunately found this out when trying to spec the -10mm spasm suspension. Mine should be here soon and I’ve ordered the same colour 👍👍👍
Great video as always Stef but if there was a Porsche in this video Fecked if I saw one I was too busy looking at that Switzerland scenery 🤭😜😀 But seriously great quality footage as ever .
I have a 991.2 gt3 for last couple of years and tempted by the GTS targa as love the looks and sounds like the drive now matches the look. Just worried about weight and the blustering people talk about when the roof is open.
I enjoyed watching the great video. I especially enjoyed admiring the scenery. What's the black sticker on the bottom of the 911 side? I didn't see it in Porsche making.
Awesome machinery 😍 Beautiful scenery, great video Stef 😎 Thank you 🙏 IMO the GTS is THE 911 (or 718) to get for daily use and maximum smiles per gallon 😁💯❤️ .... in my garage one day 😏
Hi Stef - Great video, as always! Can you tell us please why you prefer the GTS Coupe over this Targa? Is it just cash (for which the trade-off vs. the open top is at least a clear equation) or something else? Many thanks and greetings from Canada!
@@shuaibshariff2797 Good choice. 991.2 Targa GTS. On nice days, those "hard-toppers" will secretly wish they had your car, & you know they won't be driving with the windows down. YOU will always have the option however. It also looks better; you'll get more compliments; & more attention - especially if you engage the roof mechanism at an intersection/red light with other cars around. (Just make sure you can do it in the 19 seconds).😁
3.5 seconds to 62mph sounds impressive tho Porsche allways lies about the preformance. As soon as you test that figure the car will beat that time. I have seen Porsches beat claimed times by up to 4 tenths of a second to 62.
You'll have to explain why that the Swiss consider _Jungfrau_ to be the top of Europe, when clearly, it's NOT. Or have the Swiss erased Mont Blanc at 15,771 ft / 4,807 m, from their history books as BLM are doing with British, white history? 🤔😲🤫 That aside. Love the 911 Targa GTS. Not much more I can say on this gorgeous piece of engineering excellence 8-))...

Hotel balcony view over the lake looked incredible. What is the name of the hotel?
Dorint beatenberg/interlaken
What a video! Lauterbrunnen is also one of the most incredible places I have visited. Switzerland and Porsches! What's not to like...
Thanks!!

Which was better: Bernese Oberland part of Switzerland or that beautiful car?

The turbo flat six has been mastered now , sounds great at stock. Is it better handling than the S, im not sure
The Targa does not come with the extra -10mm lower suspension mate
Yeah got that wrong it’s just the hard top gts that does
ABSOLUTELY. ‼️
The Targa GTS doesn't have rear helper springs or the -10mm SPASM chassis.
Hi Stef, a great review on the GTS and excellent cinematics. whats the wind noise like with the roof up?
You don’t notice it at all with the roof closed.
@@StefABtv...and you said it all.

Hi Stef - Great video, as always! Can you tell us please why you prefer the GTS Coupe over this Targa? Is it just cash (for which the trade-off vs. the open top is at least a clear equation) or something else? Many thanks and greetings from Canada!
Hey, it’s a personal preference. Personally I prefer the hard top cars. The targa is stunning but prefer the look of a clean hard top

Could of done a targa T top with glass panels then can see through .
I love a road trip video :). Was the gts too powerful for the Swiss roads?/
I wouldn’t say so, couldn’t get 100% out of it on the roads but then you can’t really do that in most high power cars.
I really enjoyed this. If I was ever going to do an European delivery, this is definitely a trip I want to take as well.
Thanks!
The Targa has no 10mm lowering and also no helpersprings …
Targa does not have Pasm sport suspension and helper spring.
The GTS does
@@StefABtv yes, coupe and cabriolet have. Targa has the PASM (no sport) because of the extra weight.

Did you fall asleep on the way down from the jungfrau? Most people do.
I didn’t actually. I was tired though!
You should have done this in 4C
I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much. 4C is great for a spirited drive. Not for a long distance roadtrip
Why are you saying this is the top of Europe? It’s nowhere near the highest point. Do you mean the highest point reachable by car?
Reachable by train. Highest train station in Europe 🙌
Nice Video but its not the highest point of Europe
