This is awesome.. The line "cross me over Jordan lord, and I'll keep heaven warm" is one of the most low-key badass things I've ever heard. Love from Egypt.
bad ass good to know! that outlaw music still has roots in Nashvile! we don"t need another pretty boy doing pretty songs there doin country all wrong!!!!!! when freedom is outlawed only outlaws will be free!!!!!!
Kinda drums up some of the same opening feelings as " Highway Song" by Blackfoot from so long ago. Great road tunes from when just crusin and hangin out were a national pastime for our much younger and less complicated selves. Great times back then.
This song speaks to me deep inside my heart an soul! Beautiful song. I've always been an artist myself. I sing , write poems stories songs, take pictures, work with clay. I've always been a story teller an have had soul & wisdom beyond my years. I'm a cancer survivor an have been faced with death many times in 30 years of life. An i wouldn't go back in time to change a thing. Sometimes you were meant to fall on your face in order to rebuild yourself better than before. God is always there for you even if you don't acknowledge him. For many years I let my emotional an physical pain win but no more. I would be better than before. I made up my mind to learn how to play the guitar so I'm starting to look out for a lefty acoustic that I can afford. Then I will record an put up videos of my own songs that I've written. Thank you the Steel Woods for your music an inspiration. One of the first songs I'm going to learn on the guitar is this one.
Fantastic sound! Won't hear this on the radio but my neighbor's will hear it coming from my house!!! Can't wait to see you live. Come to Colorado please!!!
No these feels real and they have never missed it on any song I have just listened to the best band I’ve heard in a long time and I hope you all have a great safe time playing and I hope the best for all of you guys and GOD BLESS YOU 😊❤
God I'm so sad about Rowdy. I had him tagged as the Dimebag Darrel of country. I just found this band a couple months ago and they quickly became a favorite. For the band, friends, and family, my condolences to you all. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. A true loss to music and art.
I will swing my axe, don't let the flames go down Carve up some of that kindlin' There's plenty of wood around Well I've seen the devil's shadow, underneath the moon Keep that fire a-goin', the sun is comin' soon I will swing my axe, don't let the flames go down Carve up some of that kindlin' There's plenty of wood around When I'm old and grey, and these two hands are worn Cross me over Jordan, Lord and I'll keep Heaven warm I will swing my axe, don't let the flames go down Carve up some of that kindlin' There's plenty of wood around
i think the song might mean "son", instead of "sun". i thought the last verse when i heard it was kinda saying such, just a thought. thank you for the transcription as well.
@@SilenceSupreme yes, cool man, i didnt mean only how i seen, thank you. i just was sharing my experience of the song. nice reply too. an as well instead of whoot whoot. choice tune i think.
Saw them last night at boondocks when they opened for Eli Young Band. Great guys really down to earth and stayed around in the front bar and talked and met fans. Girlfriend got her wristband signed and got a hug.
Was sitting at home playing "The Ballad Of Curtis Leow" on my resonator with slide when my brother sent me the link for this. Stunning band! Real guitar tones and wonderful lead vocals and harmonies. Keep it going fellas...you are the antidote to all the limp wristed crap that gets thrown at us....I wish you every success!
I love this so much. It's like you took my roots in Appalachian hillbilly blues/bluegrass & added more awesome to it. That "kindlinnnnnnnnn'" part gets me every time & for some reason I hear Layne Staley's voice in there near the end of that (Alice In Chains), which is one of my absolute favorites. I hope to see y'all play somewhere soon
Caught you guys openin' for Whiskey Myers in Detroit a couple a weeks ago, excellent show and was great that you had the time to chat to us after your set,a couple a new fans here in Toronto 🤘

As a woman I should take offense to your comment. BUT I DON'T!!!!!! Hahaha! ....Epic discription Hahaha!!!
Yea i was expecting The Rebel Flag Flying up there behind them though, (Although i understand that Flag is almost Illegal to own these days.)

Saw them open for Blackberry Smoke last night at Bluesville and was blown away!
Saw em Baton Rouge opening for BBS. AWESOME. When they played Black Sabbath's "Hole in the Sky", I thought, oh hell no....Bought their CD
Love it! Outlaw Country pulls closer to Black Sabbath and ripped-jeans and bleached teeth Pop Country pulls closer to Beyounce...
Haha right on!! Better check out hole in the sky then here I go. Had a friend send this band in message on phone.
I don't.see what the big deal is. I think their terrible
The Steel Woods. These were the tunes playing out of Hank's speakers in The song "The Ride," by David Allen Coe.
