Father, I actually had my priest come over for dinner in early February and he blessed all of my really big candles, a bunch of salt, and olive oil. He had never blessed candles before, so I asked him to bring his big book of blessings. He was going to use a general blessing but I said, "No Father, there is a candle blessing, way in the back". Sure enough he found it along with the blessing for olive oil, which prompted me to run and go get my olive oil too
I already bought some candles as I read it too from Padre Pio's prophesy, I'll have them blessed; also, a few food, water for 3 days and pray all the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. These days of darkness could also be referring in part to our inability to receive our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist. Oh how we take it for granted that we can normally receive Him whenever we want. Please God, let us have our Mass back fully.
Common misconception, Padre Pio actually didnt mention it. That's not to doubt its authenticity. Many Saints have mentioned similar 3 days of darkness.

And, don't literally look outside. Cover windows so nothing can see in or out. Prepare an area for prayer with blessed candles. Forgive me but I’m just really tired so this is the best I can do for now. ask if we are all made in His image. Why did He create man and woman and not man and man? Why is it that the Holy Spirit is referred to as a she/ a female in the Old Testament in the book of wisdom ? Then in the New Testament she is now referred as a He? And now why is our Holy Mother Mary is called the seat of Wisdom. We call the Church Holy Mother Church which is the mystical body of Christ. The Church is protected buy the Holy Spirit we call the Holy Mother Church who protects Her Sons teachings. The strongest bond of love in a family is normally between Mother and Child. She would rather die than to see her child hurt. And look at is happening in the Church right now. In the book of revelation Mary is the one that pours out the wrath of God. They do say “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned “ you think we have not hurt Her Son. Kinds of like momma bear thing. Just contemplate that for a couple days. When I'm terrified as I have been I don't look to others I close my eyes and go into my heart. I meet with Jesus there and we just talk. I feel better after my meeting with him. He always tells me just to breathe and he is right there waiting for me. Always.

This is an assumption. We should understand why normal lighting will not work or be effective. God has taught us that we are all one. You don’t have to think about God to be part of God. One of the blessings of hard times is that people do turn their eyes to God.

@@dailybread300 Yes, it is a tragedy that we as the faithful cannot receive Our Lord under the normal form ( Host & Wine) right now, but I truly believe God is permitting this for a reason. God made us both in the "physical" and "spiritual" form....and in the "physical" form He, by His very design, has placed limitations and restrictions on it (e.g. disease, illness, death, etc). In order not to further spread this pandemic, Church Authorities deemed it prudent to suspend Masses (and thus not receiving the Eucharist in it's normal form). Is this a huge trial for us faithful Catholics? Why yes, certainly. This also happened during Lent (which I think was not a coincidence). It is our duty as faithful Catholics not to complain, but don our "sackcloths" and offer it up for the reparation and conversion of sinners. I truly believe after this trial is over, our churches will be filled to capacity....not just with the faithful, but those who were luke-warm. Those who took for granted, ignored, or just down right didn't believe they needed to attend Mass (and receive Our Lord) are being brought back to their senses and to God. It has been thought the 3 days of darkness would be between winter and spring and when over it would be a beautiful spring day. Only problem would be the dead bodies of the mostly evil people that would need to be taken care of. Padres Pio and the seers of different Marian visions also have belief in the 3 days of darkness. It will be at a late time , before the 1,000 years of peace. Pray for the USA and President Trump.

I heard fro other more traditional priests that blessing of candles is not done the same way as when Padre Pio was alive...priests use to exorcise the candle first and then bless it. God help us.

In my opinion the prophecy is somewhat literal, I think what she is prophesying is a real punishment from God that at the time was in store for us and may still be in store for us. I mean this because many other saints have prophesied the same thing happening and I don't remember reading anyone saying it was a metaphorical darkness or a volcanic darkness. However, we have the opportunity through our prayer, sacrifice, penance, and acts of love to change the severity of such a punishment or postpone it. One the angels at Fatima told the children that "Jesus and Mary are attentive to your prayers," so let us break out our rosaries and pray!
Yes, I too, believe it will be a literal darkness upon the entire Earth, but it's up to God as He sees fit to bring it about. He is the Creator of all things, so if He chooses to use an element of His making to do it (volcanoes, meteorites, etc) or a snap of His fingers, the end result stays the same. I was recently unable to leave my property for 3 days after Hurricane Ian hit my town here in SW Florida, USA. My house was damaged, but not so terribly that I had to abandon it. There was no water, no power and no cell phone service for over a week. While this event was far different from the prophecy Fr. Goring describes, I looked at it as a practice run. I had a generator, food, water, candles, oil lamps, cash, camp stoves, lanterns, protection, etc. While I was well-prepared, there were surprises. How do you flush the toilet when there is no water? I used pool water, but in the prophecy, you will not be able to go outside. My windows are old and somewhat leaky. I plan to seal them this week. A woman in a neighborhood nearby that flooded had no flood water damage because she taped the doors and sliding doors shut. Perhaps that can keep out poison gases. Little things like having water for the toilet or a way to make coffee in the morning become very important when disaster strikes. I am an Eagle Scout. We were taught to be prepared. I think nowadays everyone should be as prepared as they can be, for whatever can happen, man made or God made, because we live in uncertain times.

Father, I actually had my priest come over for dinner in early February and he blessed all of my really big candles, a bunch of salt, and olive oil. He had never blessed candles before, so I asked him to bring his big book of blessings. He was going to use a general blessing but I said, "No Father, there is a candle blessing, way in the back". Sure enough he found it along with the blessing for olive oil, which prompted me to run and go get my olive oil too

If you read my comment above it is long but as short as I could get I could have written so much more. You are very observant my friend. Abt 6yrs ago I found out a cross melted together at ground zero. I had never heard of that actually when I was praying I was told to look up the info once again my 💜 sank cuz I knew what it meant and could not believe my eyes. Now I want to say something this may sound weird believe me it took me very much surprise so don’t think I have not tested the Spirit I have extensively. Facing the cross you will notice the veil has dropped of the right hand of the cross. It was to show that the right hand of God has come for judgement. Which hopefully as a good Catholic you know God speaks with signs that He knows we can understand. Yes if we are in the judgement. Humanity should have listened to our Mother Mary in Fatima. The consecration of Russia was to be done right away not when the Church decided to do it whenever they wanted. She was the sign in the sky of the Woman clothed with the sun with a crown of 12stars and the moon below her feet. Man how I wish Her message was heeded. This is why it happened and witnessed the way it was so there would be no denying it. And the Church would be able to see it was not a hoax. Yes the Church and the clergy need to be very careful on what they accept as to approve something but sometimes you have to accept on faith. It was not going to harm anyone to consecrate Russia. It is the red dragon in rev. The way he devored her children was to destroy Her Sons Mystical Body the Holy Catholic Church. By introducing falsehood into the Church this was coming in through communism unknown to us at the time. They meaning satan and his “ideas” got to work . The changes were shuttle at first so no one would catch on. The Church actually was able to convert quite a few of them but not all. Some minions we still in the house of the Lord. Kind of like roaches that are impossible to kill all of them. So as the years go by they start moving up into positions of enfluance. All of a sudden you now have Vatican 2 keeping the same structure as to not alarm the masses just for our benefit loosing the reins a bit at first. Some of the things that came from Vatican 2 were just fine such as saying mass in the language of the people’s so they could understand and participate better in mass. Skipping ahead here a bit. Vatican 2 was secluded to change over in the end of 59 going into 60. At that time Sister Lucia said the 3rd secret was to be shared with the world. In 1960 or upon her death whichever came first. The reason the orders from our Mother were not acted on upon Her directions once again was to human arrogance. Finally once again we did not heed and obey our Mother. So coming around to I believe in the 2000 s the Church finally decided to do as were told but it was to late ww2 was never meant to happen if the consecration took place before communism was able to sneak rather salether in right under our noses. Don’t be discouraged please that is not what I’m trying to do at all. All of the sacraments are valid still hell will never prevail over Our Fathers House. He holds to His promises and will always take care of Her and those who follow the proper teachings of Christ ‘s Holy and beloved Church. There is so so so much to this I could type for a million years but I’m doing this on my phone and my hand hurts now. Forgive me but I’m just really tired so this is the best I can do for now. ask if we are all made in His image. Why did He create man and woman and not man and man? Why is it that the Holy Spirit is referred to as a she/ a female in the Old Testament in the book of wisdom ? Then in the New Testament she is now referred as a He? And now why is our Holy Mother Mary is called the seat of Wisdom. We call the Church Holy Mother Church which is the mystical body of Christ. The Church is protected buy the Holy Spirit we call the Holy Mother Church who protects Her Sons teachings. The strongest bond of love in a family is normally between Mother and Child. She would rather die than to see her child hurt. And look at is happening in the Church right now. In the book of revelation Mary is the one that pours out the wrath of God. They do say “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned “ you think we have not hurt Her Son. Kinds of like momma bear thing. Just contemplate that for a couple days. A little hint not trying to trick you I’m just trying to lead you into contemplate. why is marriage and family so important and serious to God?You have to have a Man and a Women to Produce a Child? The answer is there I promise you and it will make so much sense? That was always a mystery to me for years and finally was given the answer it blew my mind!!! God is so awesome. I do try to keep things simple cuz I can’t stand when we try to make God so complicated. And it’s hard not to write a book when your trying to explain why God does the things He does. It also helps explain the Holy Trinity. We profess Jesus was begotten/born of God. When I'm terrified as I have been I don't look to others I close my eyes and go into my heart. I meet with Jesus there and we just talk. I feel better after my meeting with him. He always tells me just to breathe and he is right there waiting for me. Always.

God made us both in the "physical" and "spiritual" form....and in the "physical" form He, by His very design, has placed limitations and restrictions on it (e.g. disease, illness, death, etc). In order not to further spread this pandemic, Church Authorities deemed it prudent to suspend Masses (and thus not receiving the Eucharist in it's normal form). Is this a huge trial for us faithful Catholics? Why yes, certainly. This also happened during Lent (which I think was not a coincidence). It is our duty as faithful Catholics not to complain, but don our "sackcloths" and offer it up for the reparation and conversion of sinners. I truly believe after this trial is over, our churches will be filled to capacity....not just with the faithful, but those who were luke-warm. Those who took for granted, ignored, or just down right didn't believe they needed to attend Mass (and receive Our Lord) are being brought back to their senses and to God. Again, it's a huge trial for everyone involved, but if we handle it correctly, God will bless us abundantly. +God Bless+

I agree with you Father, God gives us signs and speaks to us through the saints, but only Jesus knows how everything written in the Gospel of John in the Bible will happen. Needs to go back and read the Holy Bible, and now days the King James version is The Bible most Christan's prefer!! It does mention blessed candles being the only light you will have for 3 days and 3nights!!! It also mentions that if your loved one's aren't there before dark the first night under no circumstances let them in because it won't be them! I am still shocked that the movie industry hasn't made a movie about this when we know this is going to happen it's ,well documented that this is going to happen, it's just a matter of time!!!!

I'm not sure why it's taboo to speak on approved prophecised chastisements. We see the importance of the rosary and Divine Mercy, which come from private revelation, but when it comes to possible chastisements (usually given us as a call back to holiness) they are usually scoffed at. In my opinion the prophecy is somewhat literal, I think what she is prophesying is a real punishment from God that at the time was in store for us and may still be in store for us. I mean this because many other saints have prophesied the same thing happening and I don't remember reading anyone saying it was a metaphorical darkness or a volcanic darkness. However, we have the opportunity through our prayer, sacrifice, penance, and acts of love to change the severity of such a punishment or postpone it. One the angels at Fatima told the children that "Jesus and Mary are attentive to your prayers," so let us break out our rosaries and pray!
Yes, I too, believe it will be a literal darkness upon the entire Earth, but it's up to God as He sees fit to bring it about. He is the Creator of all things, so if He chooses to use an element of His making to do it (volcanoes, meteorites, etc) or a snap of His fingers, the end result stays the same. Excellent assessment of prayer, fasting, sacrifice, and reciting the Rosary --- this can mitigate the coming chastisements (and even the one we are suffering through now). +God Bless+

When the time comes, those who are living in God's friendship will have nothing to fear for the time has come. I had decided to get closer to God during these times. I pray the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary daily for the conversion of sinners. I also pray the daily rosary. The rosary has brought me closer to the Lord. I ask God to help me to do His will and not what I want to do. Saint Catherine Laboure said "if you speak to the Lord, He will listen and the Lord will answer you." The Lord is so loving and compassionate. He has given me so much joy during these very depressing and sorrowful times.
I pray every day that God will have mercy on my soul and forgive me of my sins and the sins of all of those who are repentant and who desire to be saved. Pray, hope and don't worry. God bless.

I have read that they need to be beeswax candles... so, does that just mean wax candles instead of soy (or plastic)? I think beeswax candles are something specific that the Church uses, though...?

I remember my father bringing home these pamphlets on the 3 days of darkness back in the 60's. I read these things before I was a teenager.
I hope that whenever my time comes to die or suffer in any way to accept it as a gift for my sanctification and not to fear anything. Everything that happens to us is allowed by God in His loving Providence, and it’s always for our own good though often we can’t see it.

I've always prayed that if and when it happens, that families are safely at home with each other. I wish candle blessings were the norm, but unfortunately, it's not ever done here. I was recently unable to leave my property for 3 days after Hurricane Ian hit my town here in SW Florida, USA. My house was damaged, but not so terribly that I had to abandon it. There was no water, no power and no cell phone service for over a week. While this event was far different from the prophecy Fr. Goring describes, I looked at it as a practice run. I had a generator, food, water, candles, oil lamps, cash, camp stoves, lanterns, protection, etc. While I was well-prepared, there were surprises. How do you flush the toilet when there is no water? I used pool water, but in the prophecy, you will not be able to go outside. My windows are old and somewhat leaky. I plan to seal them this week. A woman in a neighborhood nearby that flooded had no flood water damage because she taped the doors and sliding doors shut. Perhaps that can keep out poison gases. Little things like having water for the toilet or a way to make coffee in the morning become very important when disaster strikes. I am an Eagle Scout. We were taught to be prepared. I think nowadays everyone should be as prepared as they can be, for whatever can happen, man made or God made, because we live in uncertain times.

Which reminds me, our Gov. has forbidden us to go to mass here in Kansas and it’s not setting well with me. What would one do if I went anyways? The Gov works for us and I find that mass is the most important essential part of my life. Why does the Gov get to decide that mass isn’t essential. I haven’t been to mass for the last 3 weeks and I can’t do it anymore. I plan on going to mass this Easter Sunday.

Fr. I learned that after 3 days of darkness. We are entering to new heaven and new earth. Everything will be new. God will sweeps all that are not belong to God in earth.
