I am confused about something. My friend has a j7 phone. I am.not sure if it is the j7 prime or prime 2 but from what I read online these phones do.not have changeable batteries. I am sure it is not the j7 duo though my friends phone does have a changeable battery.

All right, some back covers are easy to remove, like the galaxy s5 and others have to apply heat and with a plastic, slowly ... remove it. Let me know wich model is and i can give you more details. Best regards

It's not just with phones. Back in time cars were designed in such a way to be easy to service... I've even seen an engine that had water pump installed on a top of it, easily accesible just after opening a bonnet, so even in case of water pump failure it was possible to replace it without dismantling timing belt and letting all the coolant out - totally impossible in practically any car since the 90ies. In 00's cars it became difficult even to replace some light bulbs. Now we have LEDs, but while the diodes themselves are durable, the poor quality of electronic components can make the lamps fail... and then you have to replace the whole lamp as it might not be possible to dismantle it to parts and repair the electronics.
Be aware. I tried to change my friends battery after 4 years of use and the lcd screen from the heat gun didnt got removed perfectly. Instead the front layer screen with the copper back got seperated and cracked. The glue was very intense !! I will refund him with a new screen but i got my lesson that nothing is 100% guaranteed. Ps. I did exatcly the same but with a heat gun.
Making phones this difficult to get into just to put in a new battery should be illegal. A simple o-ring +screws would be good enough for waterproofing. Thankfully when my battery puffed up it popped the case open for me.

my j7 doesnt have those other holes to take the parts out but its a 2017. it only has 1 of the holes that you showed at the beginning, and it was the first one.
I had it replaced after 4 yrs of use at a Samsung service center in Thailand in Sept2020. Cost me Thb1500 or about Usd 48. Not cheap but was well done. I am not sure I would want to attempt to try this myself seeing how delicate this is and how easy to damage the screen.
Don't try this thing at home just by yourselves. My phone is dead. I just cracked the LCD while performing this shit. But I think this is now the time to say goodbye my J7 pro. Thank you for almost 5 years of memories...huhuhu
my j7 star is non responsive and will sometimes shutoff for the entire night, i have hard reset, soft reset, cleared cache, everything you can think of... gets the phone working again for a day or so but ultimately dies at the end of the night... i plug it in for 4 or 5 hours when it usually charges to 100% within an hr, reset uing power on and volume down if im lucky enough to get it started again the battery life shows 40% or so.... does this sound like a bad battery or whate in your opinons?
If you ask on google, it will say the j7 has a removable battery. I don't agree, it looks involved, and you need the wrist strap, special adhesive, etc. Why did you heat it at 80C?

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my s7 j crown. It charges, but then it doesn't. Like it charges, then stops, continues charging and stops again. If I power my phone off completely and turn it back on the percentage would change. Idk if it's my battery or the charging port.

Good thing my mom gave me this phone but the display is not working anymore so i decided to buy an Lcd replacement that perfectly fits in the frame and new battery. and i wont remove the blue seal that was attached at the back of the LCD screen replacement and apply adhesive rubber lightly like fine lines at the top of the plastic frame and it's edge just like the guy did in the video so that i can easily replace the parts again if something happens. Also note that do not cut the "tail" like stip of the blue seal at the back of the Lcd replacement because that will serve as an easy to remove the lcd part without damaging it but make sure to gently remove it using your fingers and pull it upward to remove the Lcd replacement. You can easoly do this by lightly applying it with an adhesive glue called: GSE T-7000 a glue that is also related to the guy who used it on the video. also do not install the plastic protector again if you're not confident that you can remove it again without damaging the LCD Connector if you're trying to replace any parts of the phone

No heat gun! Only esicador/ fruit dryer at 75• Celsius for 15 minutes. Only dryer works for j7 , j5 or similar Samsung.

I made a mistake buying this phone. So hard to replace the battery. Never going to buy a samsung phone
This is ridiculous. I had a galaxy s5 and it is so easy to change the battery. It looks like you need to be a surgeon to change the battery on this one. Screw Samsung. I was going to buy a j7 but I decided against it.

This model of phone is so cheap it's not even worth repairing
