I have a standard GX4 that I plan on replacing the slide for the XL toro slide assembly. I've already upgraded my mags. I've got two 13 rounders and a regular 11 rounder. I also added a laser and plan on improving the grip. I just love it. It's my ultimate little carry gun.
I have the standard GX4 but plan on getting the xl conversion kit. This to me is a genius move on Taurus's part. For roughly $500 bucks I get 2 guns and can switch very easily between compact and sub compact. I also bought the lakeline pinky extensions for my lower cap mags, much better than stock. Coming from a G2C this trigger is worlds better and overall I think this gun is a winner, especially for the price and modularity.
I have this gun and love it. Got a plus 2 base plate for the smaller magazine. I put an orange big dot on the front to make it pop for quick sight acquisition
Good video. Thanks for the size comparisons with the other pistols. Im liking this XL version more than the original I looked at the other day. Thanks for the info👍
I have 1200 rounds thru my gx4. Really my only complaint is that that rear sight has moved a little. Overall for 300 dollars it’s a great CC, but that’s all it is. A close range CC that’s easy to carry and conceal.
Not sure about the xl but ik the micro Gx4 had one a few months ago it was discharging when dropped on the back of slid but those where made here in the US for a few months so check your serial number if you have the gx4 micro 9mm 10+1 jus be safe by checking like I said it was a few batches that was made in the USA but I’ve had mine for about a year it’s been every thing I expect from a day to day carry I’ve got like 600-800 ish rounds shot out of it amazing gun for the price as well got it for 378 out the door 378 was with background check as well would love to see how the gx4xl is hope it’s a amazing as well
My GX4XL, new right out of the box, has the common, trigger failure to reset problem. The problem occurs with several different ammos and at least twice with every magazine. It will have to be sent back to Taurus. Not impressed at all.
The main reason for that is due to the fact that it uses the exact same grip as the standard gx4 which did not come with any sort of accessory rail. The gx4 carry model was designed around itself rather than an existing gun and does have a small pic rail on it.
Except that none of them runs Hollow Point ammunition , when loaded all the way to the top +1 it jams on the second or third round because all rounds are nose diving in the magazine that is designed bad.

I have this as well. Handles and shoots very nice. I like the idea of putting plus 2 on the mag like I have done with my Caniks.

I have the gx4 but not the xl and i love it.
The key chain is a tool
I bought 1 3 weeks agog. FTF up the ass. Sent it to Taurus. My gx4 is flawless
Such a soft shooting pistol

Good video Geoff.. i still have seen too many Taurus guns fail to ever buy one.
Thanks!
Fail how, if you could elaborate?
Nice budget 365 xl option
Would have been nice if they'd made the grip a little longer.

I don't believe one breaks down the pistol as described, and the "key chain" provided is actually your tool for disassembly.
Thanks for the comment, it has a flat head, I think that is what I said.
That long of a barrel and they couldn't put an accessory rail on the bottom?
