Rush has several seminal albums in their catalog. Counterparts is among them. Not a dud on the entire record. I love them all. The next album is Test For Echo and while there are some really good songs on that record, as a cohesive piece of work, Counterparts is light years better. Enjoy! Be sure to check out this record! Counterparts was an outstanding album. Rush were returning to the raw, explosive energy that they had at the beginning. It was a more direct approach than most of their work in the 80s and the influence of 90s groups like Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age could be felt from this album. You must check out Stick it Out and Alien Shore from this album..Hard-assed bangers..

I suggest any of the following songs: "It's Begun to Rain", "Something's Comin Our Way", "Strange Dreams", or "The Answer". That change in energy was related to the production choices, especially with Alex’s guitars. The producer when head-to-head with Alex, adamant that he not record his parts with all his massive effects setup in the chain. Alex didn’t like it at the time, but agrees that the guy was right, and the band actually felt like that album’s sound was what they’d been searching for a long time. For me, it’s the last Rush album that doesn’t sound all same-y from start to finish. Listening to later albums I find it hard to get to the end of an album without getting a feeling that I can’t recall any particular track; they just seemed to be less hook-focused from then on. I love Rush, they’re my favourite band, and love the way they changed over the years, I just struggle to find the last few albums compelling.

Im not so sure, " i lke rush , let alone love them" , at the end of the month im going to, Wiltshire with my granddaughter ( crop circles nuff said) , so it'll be 2 wks of , crystals, mood bracelets, pebbles, and, Rush, Uriah heep, yes, genesis, absolutely pop tastic, nor arf, pop pickers, but i do think rush are very very good at what they do 🏴✌️

A great guitar solo but a deeply underwhelming song.
